Liam said, “I’ll tell you where I’ve been later. Let me talk to Celeste.”
“I wouldn’t dare go look for her right now. You’d better come back as soon as possible. Yesterday, I passed on your message, and she said sarcastically that she can’t bury her mother if you don’t come back? I didn’t dare say anything more. She might not answer, even if you call to explain. The most important thing is to come back as soon as possible. If you miss your mother–in–law’s funeral, I can tell you that from my understanding of women, she will hate you.”
Liam took a deep breath, “You help her arrange everything on site, I’ll be there at 10:10,”
“Okay, just come back as soon as possible.”
After hanging up the phone, Mason handed Nicolas a bottle of water.
“Who were you on the phone with?”
Nicolas took a sip from the water bottle, “It was Liam, I finally got in touch with him, he should be back around 10:30.”
Mason paused and said softly, “That’s good.”
Nicolas glanced inside the funeral home, “Where’s Celeste?”
“She should be busy.”
As per Celeste’s request, the funeral home did Caitlyn’s makeup.
The makeup artist was quite skilled, and when Celeste went to see her, she felt like she was looking at Caitlyn from years ago.
Her hair was still black, her face was plump, and her smile was gentle.
Caitlyn lay there, quiet as if asleep.
Before nine o’clock, people started arriving at the funeral home.
With Nicolas and Mason on site, everything seemed very orderly.
Outside the funeral home, Steven Garcia got out of the car and opened the door for a girl in plain clothes.
She was very slim with very white skin, a small face, slightly elongated eyes, and delicate features.
The girl whispered, “Bro, this funeral home is so small.”
Steven got out of the car and tapped her on the forehead, “Don’t speak such nonsense in front of others later, Caitlyn is the one who saved your
life.”
Clair Garcia rubbed her forehead and said softly, “I know, just stop hitting my head, I’m already very old.”
Steven laughed, “No matter how old you are, you’re still my sister.”
He then took Clair’s hand, “Let’s go in.”
Shawn didn’t expect so many people to come today.
There were nearly dozens of luxury cars at the entrance, and so many people had come to such a small funeral home.
When he arrived at the scene and saw the situation, he was reluctant to get out of the car.
In the end, it took Helen a lot of effort to persuade him to get out.
He walked cautiously into the funeral home, and several people looked back at him, but no one paid him any attention.
Shawn walked into the hall with his head down.
