Chapter 421
This was less of a kiss and more like a one-sided emotional meltdown
Celeste just gave up the fight.
She couldn’t push Liam at all, and fighting blindly would only tick him off more
Owen was driving like a boss, not even glancing sideways, totally ignoring the movement in the backseat, and just driving as fast as possible
God knows how long it was before the car stopped and Liam finally chilled out with his emotional dumping
He got out of the car, trying to drag Celeste out
Celeste was gripping the handle like her life depended on it, not letting go of anything
Liam couldn’t be bothered to waste his breath and just hoisted her out of the car.
“Liam, let me go!”
Celeste was fighting like a wildcat, punching his shoulders.
But Liam didn’t give a hoot, didn’t even say a word, just strutted toward the house.
The housekeeper, Amelia, was on the phone. Hearing noises outside, she said, “Hold on a sec, sounds like the boss is back, I’ll get the door”
She dropped the phone on the table and scurried to the door.
The door flies open and there’s Liam, carrying Celeste in like a sack of potatoes. Both looked like they’d been through the wringer.
Amelia started to ask what was up, but Liam cut her off with a cold “Get back to your room.”
Amelia didn’t dare to breathe a word, just laid out some slippers and booked them back to her room.
“Liam, you bastard, let me go!”
Celeste was swearing like a sailor.
The second, she’s dumped on the couch.
She barely sat up when Liam was on her like a ton of bricks.
Same position as in the car, but on the couch he had room to spread out. One leg pinning her down, one hand holding both of hers over her head, and the other hand gripping her chin as he swooped down on her lips.
This time it was way more intense, Celeste was like a ragdoll.
As they’re making out, Liam loosened his grip on her hands and started to pull down her pants.
Celeste’s hands were free and she shoved Liam away and slapped him across the face.
Her eyes were watery, but she looked like she could take on the world.
Liam’s just propped over her, staring at her like he has seen a ghost.
Celeste didn’t slap him that hard, but the audacity of it, that’s what got to him.
He clenched his fists, his face darkening. “You hit me because of him?”
Celeste pushed him off and sat up, her eyes were blazing, “Liam, if you use your physical advantage to push me around again, I swear you’ll regret it!”
The trauma from their wedding night made her sick with the feeling of being forced to get intimate. It reminded her of how helpless she felt when Wesley Reed was on top of her.
