So he readily said, “Sure”

“I think that’s a brilliant idea. I read online that she’s a good performer. Maybe she could do a little skit to entertain us.”
Everyone started to laugh.
Clair looked awkward, but Celeste was pretty chill about it.
She thought to herself, no wonder Trisha said that I suck at judging people, I never took Clair for a phony until now.
She used to think that even though she didn’t really know Clair, there was no conflict of interest between them. So Clair had no reason to intentionally stir up trouble for her.
But now, it seemed like their conflict was a lot bigger than she thought.
It involved conflicts between their families, their status, and even their lovers.
She didn’t believe for a second that Clair had no grudges against her.
