Chapter 1190
Liam moved the phone away from her, “You’re too nosy. If you saw it, you’d start picking on me.”
Celeste thought to herself, even if he didn’t let her see, she’ll still find fault with him.
Liam was halfway through his calculation when Celeste’s phone rang.
She glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Steven Garcia
She gestured for Liam to be quiet, then picked up the call.
“Celeste, are you free at noon? Let’s have a meal together”
Celeste glanced at Liam, who gave her an encouraging look
Celeste lowered her head, asking softly. “Will your family be there?”
Steven paused slightly, then gently said, “If you’re not ready, I won’t let them come
Celeste was silent for a moment, thinking about the elderly couple who had traveled from afar and Hiram Garcia’s white hair. After a while, she said again. “You set a place, bring your family, let’s meet”
Steven paused slightly, then laughed. “Alright, I’ll pick you up in a bit
Celeste smiled, “Brother, no need; there are rumors out there that you’re my sponsor. If we both show up together and get photographed, it’ll be even harder to explain”
Steven sneered, “So what if I am your sponsor? Can’t I give special attention to our family’s daughter?”
Celeste laughed for a while. “Then can I quit acting and directly take over the family business?”
Steven also laughed, “As long as you’re happy, anything is possible.”
Celeste felt very warm, “But I still like acting. Only when you reach the pinnacle of a profession can you know your true value.”
Steven
said, “If you want to act, then act; if you want to release an album, I’ll help you find an award–winning songwriter. I can help you achieve whatever
you want. In my heart, you’re the best.”
Celeste finally understood why Liam always said Steven cared about his sister
After all, Liam would criticize her for singing out of tune, while Steven believed she was the best.
After hanging up, Celeste began to get out of bed and tidy up
Liam had Owen send over a few sets of clothes for her to choose from, all of which were very generous styles and looked exceptionally appropriate
She took her first formal meeting with the Garcia family very seriously, spending nearly an hour on makeup
Liam didn’t rush her, he just quietly texted Steven, “Wait for her a bit; she’s a little nervous.”
Steven unusually didn’t blame him, only reminding him, “Tell her not to be nervous and to be careful when driving.”
Liam replied, “Alright”
Once Celeste was all set, Liam drove her there himself
Usually a chatterbox, Liam was exceptionally quiet today.
In a soft voice, Liam said, “The Hann family’s elders are super friendly, and you’ve met Mr. Garcia before. They’re all very decent elders. Just be yourself and they’ll like you”
Celeste clenched her clothes, whispering. “Aren’t you coming in with me?”
Liam chuckled. I’ll be there with you when we go for a formal visit”
He had misunderstood before, thinking Steven was into Celeste, so he insisted on coming along.
Now, both families had accepted Celeste, but his relationship with her was unclear, so it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to show up.
The car quickly arrived at the agreed–upon place
Liam took a mask and put it on her, then helped straighten her hair, “Don’t be scared, call me if anything happens. I’ll be waiting outside for you.”
Celeste gently scratched his hand, put on her hat, and got out of the car.
