Celeste casually elevated her blanket, a bit, “Don’t you need to get to work?”
The moment she spoke, she noticed her voice was a bit hoarse, so she hastily cleared her throat.
Liam noticed her actions, and a hint of amusement flashed in his eyes.
“Today’s the weekend.”
Celeste gave a small “oh“, pulling her shoulders back into the blanket
“What time is it now?”
Liam glanced at his phone, “It’s ten minutes till eleven.”
Celeste was somewhat inclined to get up but felt awkward about doing so since Liam was still lying down.
After all, she wasn’t dressed. She could be carefree when sleeping, but the embarrassment would return once she woke up.
Seeing Liam still motionless, she tried to start a conversation, “I wonder how things are going with Shawn?”
“Last night Helen had Angel take Jacques into hiding, but they ended up getting caught by Nicolas.”
Liam relayed what Nicolas and the others had been up to last night to Celeste and finally added, “He’s probably busy with Jacques paternity test right
now.”
Celeste was taken aback by this and then laughed mockingly. “He’s always wanted a son, but in the end, he’s raising someone else’s child”
Liam nodded, “Hopefully, he can accept reality.”
Celeste asked, “What reality?”
Liam slowly said, “Though the son isn’t his, his wife still is. That’s also a kind of gain.”
Celeste couldn’t help but chuckle, “You sure know how to comfort people.”
Liam tilted his head to look at her, “Aren’t you getting up yet?”
Celeste clutched the blanket tightly, trying to keep her composure, “You go ahead; I’ll stay in bed a bit longer.
Liam, who was about to sit up, laid back down. Then I’ll keep you company for a while.”
“If you don’t get up first, we’ll have to get up together later, and we might have to fight over the bathroom.”
Celeste was trying to get Liam to leave first.
Liam glanced at her, “We’re not so poor that we only have one bathroom.”
“Let’s chat, the book says frequent chatting can help enhance a couple’s feelings for each other.”
Liam’s voice was very soothing.
Celeste gave him a puzzled look, “Chat about what?”

This wasn’t just jealousy anymore, it was downright madness
Celeste attempted to change the subject, “That was a long time ago, I don’t even remember. Are you trying to make things difficult for me?”
Liam said lightly, “Didn’t you still remember the tutoring class you both attended? Start from there.”
Celeste couldn’t help but laugh out loud
She moved closer, gently touching Liam’s hair and whispering, “I never knew you were so jealous. You want me to talk about my ex–boyfriend, but you’ll get mad if I do. Aren’t you just making trouble for yourself?”
Liam said, “I won’t be at ease without a marriage certificate
Celeste chuckled, “Well How about we remarry once you’ve earned enough points?”
Liam paused, his expression serious, “Are you serious?”
“I’m not joking”
Liam finally stopped fretting about her ex–boyfriend because he started considering his own situation.
Celeste saw him calculating on his phone and couldn’t resist leaning in to ask, “How many points did you get?”
