Chapter 1184
She stared at Liam and said. “Thank you, but I don’t feel comforted.” She turned her face away.
He was so arrogant! How could he belittle her to praise himself? If she’d known he’d say that, she wouldn’t have bothered cheering him up.
Liam found teasing her amusing, and his mood improved greatly.
Soon, they arrived at Pinecrest Manor.
As they got out of the car, Owen called out to Liam, “Mr. Reed, Mr. Francis left a bag in the car when he left. He said it was for you.”
After saying that, he handed the bag to Liam.
Liam took it, and was just about to open it when Celeste called out, “Liam, I forgot the door lock code.”
Liam had to close up the bag, reminding Owen to be careful on the road, then walked towards Celeste with the bag.
After their divorce, Liam seldom came here, so the housekeeper didn’t need to be here all the time and only came every other day to clean.
They pushed the door open, the house was very quiet.
Liam changed his shoes, put the bag on the sofa, and then went to the kitchen to pour some water
Celeste peeked out from the entrance, looked around, then walked in.
Although she had lived here for three years, coming back after such a long time felt like stepping into a strange place. It felt weird.
There were no major changes in the house since Liam hadn’t allowed anyone to move anything.
The two couple pillows on the sofa were piled together as if the owners of the house had never parted.
Celeste walked over to the sofa and sat down. When she reached for the pillow, she bumped into the bag Liam had left on the sofa,
She picked up the bag.
The logo on the bag was from a hospital, so she wondered if Liam was feeling unwell.
Celeste looked up towards the kitchen and asked loudly. “Did you buy medicine?”
“What?”
Liam’s voice came from the kitchen.
Celeste said, “I see a bag from the hospital on the sofa”
Liam was washing the cups and said, “It’s from Nicolas Franc’s.”
Celeste might not have heard, but she shouted, “I’m going to open it.”
Liam responded, then found the coffee beans in the cabinet and started brewing coffee.
By the time he came out with two cups of coffee, Celeste was sitting on the sofa, staring blankly at a pile of strange things.
Liam came over and saw it, causing his face to instantly change.
That bastard Nicolas had stuffed a bunch of sex toys in the bag!
He quickly put down the cups and tried to clarify the situation. “I didn’t buy these!”
Celeste gave an “Oh” of surprise. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at the row of items. Pointing at one of them and asking, “What’s this thing?”
Liam thought to himself, was she really not embarrassed?
He glanced at the item, indicating he was clueless too, “I have no idea. He paused for a moment, then added, “Isn’t there an instruction manual?”
Celeste picked it up, scanned it briefly, then tossed it over to Liam, “It’s in a foreign language; can you translate it for me?”
Liam quickly skimmed through the manual, then slowly lifted his head, “Are you sure you want me to translate this?”
Celeste was a bit shy, but her curiosity was stronger. This was something she had only heard about but had never seen before, and she couldn’t suppress her curiosity.
She said softly. “I want to know how to use this thing; it looks so weird”
Liam looked over the manual again, then gave a slight smile, This one’s kinda hard to translate.”
“Really? But your foreign language skills are top–notch.”
Celeste picked up the manual again, she had just struggled through the first sentence when Liam cut her off, “Or maybe I can give you a demonstration?”
