What was up with Celeste today? She had been such a good girl.
What was wrong with Mr. Reed? He had a poker face like always, but seemed a bit pissed.
Owen just heard from Mr. Francis that they had quite the rapport upstairs, but it didn’t seem like it.
“Maybe?” It sounds like you’re reluctant.” Liam said coldly.
Celeste shook her head immediately. “I don’t feel reluctant; I’m perfectly willing.”
Liam then snorted in response.
Knowing she had messed up, Celeste leaned in and whispered, “Mr. Reed, you’ve been playing along with me all night, aren’t you tired? How about a leg massage?”
Liam glanced at her, moving his leg over, and Celeste immediately began massaging his leg.
Owen was left dumbfounded.
Had Mr. Reed’s status at home suddenly skyrocketed?
‘Put some strength into it, haven’t you eaten?” Liam demanded, feeling somewhat unsatisfied.
Celeste was so annoyed that she wanted to bash him with a hammer, but she held it in, knowing she was in the wrong.
When it came to Liam, If she didn’t let him vent, it would come back to haunt her.
So she obediently said, “Alright, I’ll put more force into it.”
She smiled and said, “Is this alright, Mr. Reed?”
Liam huffed and then said, “It’s barely passable!
It was already autumn, and the weather was a bit chilly, but Celeste was sweating profusely. Owen considerately turned on the AC

Owen was taken aback, “Aren’t you hot?”

Celeste shook her head, “It’s not that I’m not hot; I just don’t think I’m worth it. Look, Mr. Reed has gone to great lengths to play along with me, it’s not easy for him. And I’m not even grateful; instead, I’ve made him angry. Turning the AC on now would just waste electricity, which Mr. Reed earns by working late into the night. I’ve made him angry, so do I even have the right to spend his money? I’m not worth it!”
Liam couldn’t help but laugh. Seeing Celeste looking at him, he immediately resumed his serious expression
How was Celeste able to do this? She could say such harsh words without batting an eyelid. Placating Liam was a piece of cake for her.

Celeste said, “What about if I tell you about my class reunion?”
The mention of a class reunion reminded Liam of Jarred Wilson inviting her to one, making his face darken even more.
“I don’t want to hear it”
“Don’t you want to hear how my classmates praised you?”
Liam’s eyebrows twitched, so she wasn’t talking about high school. He coughed and said, “How did they praise me?”
“They were all asking me, Celeste, how did you end up with your husband? You see, you’re quite good–looking, but you’ve got yourself an extremely handsome man. Your grades were average, but you’ve got a top student, your family background is average, but you’ve got a tycoon”
Owen thought to himself, My god, was this really a compliment?
Liam was clearly pleased. A slight smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, and he glanced at her, saying, “You do have some merits. At least your taste in partners is better than your husband’s.”
