Her words instantly ignited a commotion among the audience, especially the elderly woman who was at the forefront. She angrily accused the Warner Group of deceit and exploitation.
Undeterred, Jane continued, “If the victim, Jack Baker, had suffered an accident at our construction site, we would naturally offer compensation. However, he did not die from an accident at our site but was intentionally killed, and the blame was shifted to our construction site. Therefore, it is impossible for our site to provide compensation.”
Her statement caused another uproar, and the journalists were shocked by her claim of murder. She nodded at Daniel who promptly projected a video onto the screen behind Jane The video was shot in the evening, with dim lighting making the figures indistinct. However, the voices were enhanced, and everyone present could clearly hear the conversation in the video.
In the video, a man and a woman were speaking, and to everyone’s surprise, the woman’s voice belonged to the Jack’s mother, while the man’s voice was that of her eldest son, Owen Baker
In the video, the old lady scolded her son, Owen, “Behave yourself. Don’t touch that woman. We have so many people in the family. What if someone sees it?”

“You shut up. You can’t say that again. His death has nothing to do with you; he fell and died on his own. They must compensate us,” his mother scolded in a hushed voice.
“Okay, okay. I forgot again. My mouth gets me into trouble,” Owen said.
