“Zach, Daisy is still young and doesn’t know how to measure her words. Don’t take her seriously. As an apology from Aunty, I invite you all to ride the roller coaster, how about that?” Michelle said, trying to persuade Zach.
Zach’s expression remained unchanged as he rejected the offer, “No need, we have money.”
Michelle continued to coax, “Zach, are you afraid of heights? Maybe that’s why you don’t want to ride the Ferris wheel with us. It goes really high, you know”
Zach’s immediately became defiant. How could he be afraid of heights? He loved all kinds of extreme sports.
“Hmph, you underestimate me. I’m not afraid of heights at all. Let’s go ride it!”
Zach’s temper was ignited, and he immediately wanted to go on the Ferris wheel to prove himself
Zach turned to Zane, urging him to join as well, “Zane, let’s go ride the Ferris wheel. We can’t let them look down on us.”
Zane felt something was off but couldn’t put his finger on it. He looked at Michelle, who was provoking them, and didn’t immediately agree.
Michelle continued, “Zach, if your friend is scared, it’s okay. Maybe you’re not afraid, but others might
be.”
This comment provoked Zane, and he coldly retorted, “Hmph, who’s scared of who…”
The three kids walked towards the Ferris wheel, and Michelle carried her niece and followed behind. The little niece, Daisy, was still sobbing and complained to Michelle, “Auntie, they bullied me. Why should we take them to ride the Ferris wheel?”
Michelle smiled in a mischievous manner, whispering to her niece, “Daisy, I’m doing this to stand up for you. You’ll understand in a moment.”
Soon, they arrived at the Ferris wheel, but strangely, there were no staff members around.
Michelle offered an explanation saying, “The staff might be using the restroom. Let’s go on first, and I’ll start the ride.”
The kids didn’t think much of it and climbed the ladder to enter the Ferris wheel. They thought Michelle and her niece would ride in the next compartment.
However, as the Ferris wheel slowly ascended, they noticed that Michelle and her niece didn’t join them.
A sense of unease spread among the three kids, and they rushed to the window to look down.
Then, Zoe pointed at a white sticker on the control room door and said, “Brother, look, what does it say?”
Zane and Zach looked over and saw the biggest words written on the paper: “Machine Maintenance.”
Seeing this, they immediately turned their gaze to Michelle, who had already left the scene with her
niece.
“Da m n it, this wicked woman wants to harm us!” Zach cursed angrily.

Zane realized the severity of the situation and quickly pulled Zoe back to his seat, so they wouldn’t have an accident. He then called Jane on his smartwatch to update her on their situation.
Jane, on her way to the amusement park, received a call from Zane. Initially thinking that the three kids were growing impatient and couldn’t wait any longer, she answered her phone, only to hear Zane tell her they were stuck on a malfunctioning Ferris wheel which was under maintenance.
Jane’s face instantly turned pale and without further delay she rushed to the amusement park
She also called Drake while en route. It took a while for him to answer, and when he finally did, it was
Annie’s voice on the other end.
“Drake is in the bathroom,” Annie stated.
Immediately she heared Annie’s voice, Jane’s expression turned cold for a moment. However, realizing that Annie deliberately spoke to provoke her, Jane made an effort to calm herself down
again.
“Could you please let my husband answer the phone?”
Since it was a matter of who could remain calm, Jane directly referred to Drake as her husband
Sure enough, upon hearing Jane’s words over the phone, Annie on the other end became visibly
unsettled.
Before Annie could say anything, the voice of Drake came through. “Why did you touch my phone?”
he asked.
Then, Jane heard the sound of Drake sn atch ing the phone from Annie’s hand. She could even imagine the displeasure on his face.
“Drake, I didn’t mean anything by it. I saw your phone ringing, and it was a call from Jane. I thought it might be something important, so I answered on your behalf,” said Annie spoke up in a pitiful voice in an attempt to defend herself.
As Jane listened to the nauseating tone in Annie’s throat, it felt as if there were a few flies trapped inside. Jane truly felt like vomiting.
Drake didn’t respond and walked out of the ward. Once he reached the corridor, he finally spoke to Jane on the phone.
Without hesitation, Jane immediately told Drake about Zach and the other kid’s situation.
Immediately Drake understood that the three children were in critical condition, he had almost no hesitation. Without any further questioning, he immediately headed towards the hospital’s entrance
and left.
Just as Drake was about to leave, he encountered Charles, Annie’s dad, who had just returned after paying for Annie’s medical expenses. Seeing Drake about to leave, he immediately tried to stop him.
“Mr. Warner, Annie’s condition is still unstable. You can’t leave.”
Facing Charles’ obstruction, Drake gave him a cold glance and said, “Get out of the way…”
Charles couldn’t stop Drake and could only watch him leave, with a look of melancholy on his face.
After leaving the hospital, Drake immediately rushed to the amusement park.
Jane arrived at the amusement park before Drake. As she reached there, the carriage where the
three little kids were located was about to reach the very top.
As soon as Jane arrived at the amusement park, she immediately notified the park staff and even called the firefighters on her way there.
Upon reaching the amusement park, she followed the staff to the bottom of the Ferris wheel.
The Park staff were shocked to see the Ferris wheel still running when it should have been stopped.
“What should we do? The Ferris wheel is damaged and hasn’t been repaired yet. When it descends, the entire cabin will probably tilt. It’s too dangerous.”
“Quick, cut off the power,” Jane immediately exclaimed.
But one staff member replied, “The power has already been cut off, but the Ferris wheel is damaged and completely out of control.”
Jane’s face went completely white. She watched as the cabin with the three kids was about to descend. The Ferris wheel stopped slowly, and the three kids were trapped at the highest point.
