Aliza pov
I stayed home for the next couple of days to let my body heal, but I was alright already the next day, surprising myself with how fast it went.
I haven’t heard anything from Darian, but I have seen small glimpses of his men running around in the forest these days. Staying away from my property and not once have they walked up to my house.
“Noah it’s time to go!” I call out to him and wait to hear him come down the stairs while I get his bag and jacket ready.
“Mommy, I’m here!” he says when he comes running down the stairs while I take Darian’s hoodie to place it in the hallway on the bench.
I can’t stop myself from taking a sniff of it again, even if his scent has started to fade away a bit I still feel it.
Taking a deep inhale of it and letting his scent fill in my lungs, my gum instantly starts to tingle and I have to drag my tongue over it.
It’s strange, and as soon as it came, it was gone again. Placing the hoodie down on the bench I hear Noah running up behind me. Turning around to walk towards the door I pick up his bag on the way and open the door, waiting for him to walk outside.

“Come!” I say to him once we are outside. I don’t see anyone of Darian’s men or him and hopefully, he has stopped keeping a tab on

Taking Noah’s hand in mine, we head over to the car and I open the door for him to climb inside before I walk over to the front seat and get

The drive to work goes fast and we are not followed by anyone. Taking a big breath in relief we pull into the parking lot behind my work.
I have been here quickly with Heidi once to get some paper, then I have been working from home the rest of these days. I feel a bit uneasy about parking my car too far away from the building like I used to do, now I park right beside the door in the closest parking space.
I am grateful they came to my rescue that day I’m not sure I would still be here if they hadn’t but telling Darian the truth was a mistake or maybe that’s why he is staying away, he finally understands I can’t be his Luna since I don’t have my wolf.
The Black family have always been strong and powerful, with me by his side I would be the weak link and it’s for the best things stays the way they are!

Opening the door, I head out and help Noah out of the car before I take the bags and start to walk towards the entrance. Noah runs ahead of me and opens the door while I walk over and hold it up for him to run Ninside.

“Finally, you are back!” comes Liz’s voice from the kitchen when my son runs right in there to look for her son. Walking after him to find her standing by the counter and Heidi is by the stove making breakfast.
“Good morning!” I say while placing my bags down on the side of the counter to grab myself a cup of coffee.
“Good morning! How does it feel today?” Heidi asks and turns to look at me. We have been talking every day, and she knows I already feel just fine.
“It’s all good!” I say and grab my cup of coffee once it’s filled.
“Have you heard anything from him?” Liz asks and I sip on my coffee before answering her.
“No, I haven’t! I guess he understands it now once I told him the whole truth!” I say when our sons start running around in the kitchen.
“Boys! No running in here!” I tell them when both of them stops and starts to walk out of the kitchen instead.
“Highly unlikely, that’s why you haven’t heard from him!” Heidi says and shakes her head. She never told me what they talked about our what happened once I were unconscious.
“Well, I have a lot work to get done and I have to go to the bank later today!” I tell them when Heidi turns off the stove and grabs some plates before she walks over to the counter.

“You will not go alone! One of us will come with you!” she states and starts to head for the dining room with the plates. We haven’t talked about how we are going to handle going to the bank from now on and we have to make some changes.
Grabbing some other places with fruit, I follow her out of the kitchen and place them down on the table beside the rest.
Once we have taken a seat by the table, some of the other mothers come walking inside the room and we get a nice time at the breakfast table talking.
“I got time over to take the kids to daycare!” Liz says when we are done and I get up from my seat.
“Sounds good to me! I have to get started with work!” I tell her while heading over to kiss my son on his cheek.
Once they have left and we said goodbye, I went right over to my office to start with all papers I had fallen behind with.
I’ve got some time in there when there is a knock on the door before Liz comes walking inside.
“I wanted to talk to you alone!” she says and I can see concern on her face. Liz isn’t the one to get worried over nothing and whatever it is I’m taking it seriously.
“What is it?” I ask her when she takes a seat in front of me by my desk.

“It’s Heidi!” she says and I place my paper down on the desk and give her my whole attention.
“What’s wrong with Heidi?” I ask her and see her drag her hand down her face.
“I’m worried about her! She has started to sneak out every night and stays away for several hours!” she says, and it’s not like her. She lives for her daughter and her work, she is just like me and finds no interest in any men. I have seen her going on a couple of dates during all these years I have known her but it’s rare and it was ages since she went on
one.
Are you sure she haven’t met anyone?” I ask when Liz shakes her head no at me.
“I have been following her for the last two nights from a distance, had to find out what she was up to since she sneaked out without mentioning anything!” now she has my whole attention.
“What did you find out?” I just say and wait for her to tell me.
“She have been spying on the man who caused her sister’s death!” she says and I feel how my stomach turns by her words. She promised me to not go after him, is that what she is planning?

Both of us sit in silence for a short moment while I process this information. I know where he is working, and she has probably found out more about him than what I know.
“What do you think she is up to?” I ask and look at the clock. I need to talk to Heidi but right now is the most stressful time for her trying to prepare everything for the day.
“Whatever it is it’s nothing good! I have seen her following him from a distance and all the way to his home. She is planning something, and I have tried to ask her in the morning where she has been since I heard her walk out but she dismissed it by saying she couldn’t sleep and went for a walk.” she explains to me with a concerned expression on her face
Sitting back in my seat, I try to recall the information I found out about him when I searched. I have to think of a solution before Heidi does something she will regret!
Nothing is easy to do without my wolf and I know if I had her with me I could easily scare him and run him out of this town in a heartbeat but now when I’m nothing more than a human myself I have to figure out something else.

“I will do what I can, but we have to come up with a plan soon. I know she will take matters into her own hands if we don’t stop it!” she says and I sigh at the thought. Liz can’t be involved in this matter either. I know she would do something rash if she got provoked enough by him and I can’t cover the tracks well enough to be sure she is safe. None of us can, since we are rogues in a human town without any help from a pack, and none of us knows how to cover up the tracks.
“Just keep her home and away from him. I will take care of it!” I tell her when she turns to look at the clock and I guess she will have a customer coming in any minute.
“Don’t forget your appointment this afternoon!” she says and gets up from her seat. Looking at her, it takes me a long moment until I understand what she is talking about. I had completely forgotten about

“Shoot! I had forgotten. When was it?” I ask and lean forward to look at the calendar on my desk.
“One a clock!” she says right before she opens the door and walks out of the office. I see her close the door after her before I turn my head back to look at my pile of work in front of me.
I’ve got two hours before I need to head over there, and hopefully, Darian won’t have a problem with me visiting his city. I probably should talk to him and let him know I’m going over there but with all the guards keeping a tab on me, he will know either way and I can spare myself from that phone call.

I shake my head at the thought and start to go over my papers again to try and get as much done as I can before I need to go.
It takes me some time to get the things done I have to do before I turn off my computer and place my papers to the side. I have to go in a short moment if I’m going to make it there in time and this is an appointment I don’t want to miss.
Getting up from my chair, I take my bag and start to head out of the office, closing the door after me and taking out the keys when I walk over to the reception desk right when Liz comes walking down the stairs.
