Turning my head I see our little boy run out of the elevator and look around him while he shouts Mommy. I see the woman I met in her restaurant the day I ran into her again and my man Jeffrey comes walking beside her.
“Mommy!” our son shouts in his small voice and I can’t take my eyes off his little feet that run down the hallway to where I stand. I’m frozen to my spot while looking at him when he stops right in front of me.
“Where is mommy?” he says and I can see sadness in his eyes when he looks at me. Squatting down in front of him I get this urge to wrap him up in my arms and comfort him but I know I can’t do it. I’m just a stranger to him!
“Hey, little guy! Your mommy is being taken care of by a nurse and we have to wait a bit before you can see her!” I say when the woman and Jeffrey stop beside my son.
She grabs him and pulls him to her. I have to fight my urge to take him back and have her to let go of my son but now is not the time!
Rising from the floor I look at the woman when she is growling a low threatening growl at me, Jeffrey instantly takes a step closer and is ready to intervene.

“Let her be!” I mind link him while looking at her. I get why she is threatening me but this is my pack lands and she can’t come here and behave the way she does even how angry she is.
Chase takes a step closer to where I stand and I see her glance at him before turning her eyes back to me, I guess she understands there is no point for her to come here and threaten me so she avert her eyes.
“How is she?” I hear her say while she holds my son close to her.
“Unconscious!” I tell her when the nurse opens the door and comes out into the hallway. We all turn to look at her.
“She is still unconscious! We need a shirt to get her dressed before you can see her!” she says and I have no other clothes here than mine.
“Take a shirt from my closet!” I tell her when she turns around and slips back into the room.
“What is wrong with her?” her friend asks and I turn my head to look at them.
“She got a dislocated shoulder and a head wound!” I tell her and try to not get them more worried.
I see her think for a moment in silence when the door is opened again and the nurse comes out to us.
“She is ready if you want to see her!” she says and holds the door open.

I let her walk inside with our son and follow them into the room while I wait by the end of the bed.
Aliza is laying unconscious on the bed dressed in my shirt and a bandage around her head, she is pale and looks so small and fragile where she lays. Taking a step closer I want to touch her leg but my hand gets stopped before I manage to reach her.
Snapping my head in the direction of her friend she growls low at me again and I see her look angrily at me. My anger instantly flares to life and now I’ve had it with her way and am about to bark at her when I feel a hand on my shoulder grabbing me hard.

“Take it easy!” Chase mind links and I breathe heavily before I shake his hand off my shoulder and walk out of the room instead. No one comes here and threatens me!
I know he is right and I can’t lash out at her with my son in the same room and Aliza unconscious on the bed so it’s better to put some distance between us for now!
Walking past Jeffrey I head over to my kitchen to make some coffee when I hear footsteps behind me and I know it’s Chase before he says
anything.
“You have to take it easy! Her friend has no idea what your intentions are and she is just looking out for her! You would do the same!” he says and walks over to lean against the counter beside me while I take down a cup from the shelf.
“I know!” I just state and place it in the machine and press the bottom.
“Do you? really? Because the lack of patience says otherwise!” he states when the cup starts to fill up. Sighing and thinking about his words I know he is right, I have to be more patient with her.
“I do!” I state and take my cup when it’s filled and turn around to lean at the counter on the other side. I see him take a cup for himself and place it in the machine when I hear footsteps walking closer to the kitchen where we stand.

I know it’s her friend before she appears in the doorway. She is alone and her eyes dart between us both before she stomps over to where I stand with a finger pointing at me.
“Did you do this to her? I swear by my life you will not take another breath if you have hurt her!” she spits and my wolf growls at her in anger. He is about to take over and I have to push him back!
Placing my cup on the counter I take a step forward and keep my eyes on her without moving closer. I see her eyes flicker and her wolf is close to the surface.
“She’s my mate why would I hurt her?” I say in a low growl when Chase walks closer to us.
“Because you had no problem breaking her once! What says you’re not trying to kill her this time!” she spits at me.
“Then why would I rush her here and have my doctor do everything to help her!” I bark at her from her accusations. Chase gets in between us when her eyes get black and fur starts to coat her arms. Another pair of feet run closer to where we are and I know it’s Jeffrey.
“Calm down!” Jeffrey says and grabs her shoulder when he comes inside the kitchen. We have a standoff when none of us give in. I have to give it to her she got some guts!
“Heidi!” I hear my son say and turn to look the way when he comes rushing into the kitchen and wraps his arms around her leg. I see her take a deep breath before her eyes change back and she turns her

“We have to go back home! Don’t worry she is in good hands with the nurse and we can come here tomorrow!” she says to him.
“No, I can’t leave Mommy!” he says in a sob and I have to do something.
“He can stay with her! I will take care of him!” I say when she snaps her head my way and a low growl is heard from her, too low for him to hear.
I see him look my way before he comes rushing over and grabs my hand with his small one. Looking at him he turns his head up to me and I’m too shocked to speak.
His tiny hand is holding mine and the feeling is surreal.
He’s my son! A part of me!
