Chapter 17
Aliza pov
I feel a harder contraction and I try to focus on breathing.
“There is no time to waste! We have to get her to the hospital! You have a car, Frederic! You’re driving!” Liz orders out and when I feel both Heidi and Liz grab my arms and slowly help me to walk forward.
“Drive the car upfront! Now Frederic!” she yells at him but it does the trick and he starts moving.
“Oh my gosh!” he says and rushes past us and down the stairs, he seems to have more panic over this than any one of us has.
“Do you think he can drive without an accident!” Heidi says and by the look of it, I’m not sure he’s going to fix it.
“If he can’t then I better drive so we get there in one piece!” Liz says and chuckle when another contraction hits me and Thave to stop in my track while waiting it out.

“Let’s hope we can get you to the hospital before she starts to cry and need to be fed, I would like to avoid having to breastfeed her in the car with a woman going into labor and a man sitting in the front seat and having a panic attack over everything!” she says and Liz starts to laugh beside me.
“That would be a memory we will never forget!” she says when we have made our way down the stairs and the door to the restaurant flies open when Frederic comes bursting inside in panic.
“The car is ready, are you going to hold that baby inside until we get there?” he says and sounds hysterical.
“I think I should drive and you can keep a tab on how far apart her contraction comes! “Liz says when we walk out of the restaurant and the car is upfront.
“Lock the door!” I say when Heidi let go of my arm and locks the door before she comes back with the keys.
“Get in the back seat! I have placed a new towel on the seat!” Frederic says and I’m not surprised he has a towel in
his car.

anyone else when he gets in the front passenger seat and Liz is going to drive. Heidi takes a seat beside me and I focus on breathing through the contractions.
“Why do you have panic? You’re not the one giving birth!” Liz says to Frederic when she starts the car and drives away
from there.
“You know I saw a documentary about childbirth and let me tell you I’m glad it’s not me who’s going to give birth.
You know the size of the child that’s going out through a small hole!” he says and tries to show with his hands the difference in size.
“Yeah, I know!” I say and just smile at him, he is funny with his panic over something he doesn’t have to do. My contractions only increase and once we arrive at the hospital they just keep coming after one another.
“I’m parking here and once we get you inside Frederic can move it!” Liz says and quickly gets out of the car and rushes to my side when I have opened the door, she grabs my arm and starts to help me get out, and has to pull hard when I have a hard time getting up. She stops in her motion and looks at me when I stand in front of her with dilated eyes.
“What’s wrong?” I say to her between a contraction.

“I think my water just broke or I peed myself!” she says with a burst of nervous laughter.
Looking down at her pants I see them being all wet.
“I believe it might have been your water or you had a lot of pee!” I say and laugh with her when Heidi comes over with a wheelchair for me to sit in.
“What are you laughing at?” she asks and I lift my head and look over Liz’s shoulder.
“I believe Liz’s water just broke!” I say when Heidi starts to laugh, what’s the odds of that happening?
“Then I’ll get another one for you!” Heidi says but Liz shakes her head and helps me over to the wheelchair.
“No need yet, I haven’t any contractions!” she says and starts to wheel me inside the hospital when I nurse comes running up to meet us.
“Her labor has started and my water just broke!” Liz says to the nurse and looks between us.
“Is the father’s here?” the nurse asks when we both shake
our heads.

“There are no fathers!” Heidi is quick to answer when another nurse comes over and starts to wheel me away.
“See you in a bit and good luck!” Heidi shouts from behind when the nurse pulls me inside the delivery room down the hallway.
“We have to get you over to the bed and get those pants off you!” the nurse says and helps me up from the wheelchair when I get this urge to start pushing down.
“I need to push!” I say when she tries to get me to lie down on the bed.
She is quick to drag my pants and underwear off me and is about to examine me when I get another contraction and can’t resist pushing down.
“Oh, dear! The baby is coming!” she says and rushes over to press a button when I see a red lamp being switched on.
A new contraction comes and I push down when she places my legs to the side and starts to place things beside her on a table.
“It’s all looking good and I want you to push down once more!” she says and I do what she says when the door is opened and my doctor comes rushing inside.

“That was fast!” she says and washes her hands before she comes over and takes the nurse’s place.
“The head will be out in the next push!” she says and I feel it through the next one
“Hold up and just breathe through the next one!” she says and I just breathe through one and when the next one comes I push with all I got and feel how the baby slips out of me. I have to catch my breath when I don’t hear any baby screams, looking at the doctor she is rubbing the baby’s back and holding it upside down over the floor until I hear a loud scream.
“Just some water in the way! He is perfectly fine!” she says and I start to cry in joy when she comes over and places my
son in my arms.
Looking down at him my beautiful little boy I already see now that he looks just like his father.
I hear the nurse walk out of the room and the doctor comes to sit on a chair beside me once she is done.
“Everything looks fine and you will be ready to take a shower in a short moment, but I want to talk to you when we are alone!” she says and I don’t take my eyes off my little sunshine in my arms, I already love him more than life itself and there is nothing I wouldn’t do for him.
