Chapter 11
Aliza pov
I just look at her and I was nowhere near prepared for an appointment today, it all makes its way too real and I have to take some deep breaths before I can say something.
“Thank you, that will be perfect!” I say and try to sound convincing when she places her hand over mine on the table.
“Whatever it is, we are here for you!” she says, and it’s weird how I can feel more of a connection with Vera than I ever felt with my mother since my father died. I do feel like they care about me and I’m grateful they came into my life when they did.
“Thank you for everything you are doing for me!” I say and mean it.
“No, we have been blessed the day you knocked on our door!” comes Martin’s voice from behind when he slowly walks over to where we are.
Vera gives my hand a light squeeze before she lets me go and I get up on my feet to bring them their breakfast.
“I heard you had a rough night! Do you need anything when I’m away? I can pick it up on my way home” I tell him when he has taken a seat at the table.

“I would like some more of the dessert you made yesterday!” he says and gives me a wink. I know what dessert he is talking about and I only needed to buy a few more ingredients to make it again.
“Then I will fix it for you!” I say and hand him his medicine before sitting down at the table and drinking my coffee.
I have no hunger whatsoever since she told me about my appointment in one hour, I feel more nervous and wouldn’t be able and get anything down if I tried.
“I will write you down on a paper what you need!” Vera says with a tone I know what she is meaning without having to say it out loud.
I see her get up on her feet and walk over to the counter where she pulls out a drawer and starts writing on a piece of paper before she comes back and hands it to me
“Here! Everything you need, and you can take the bike if you want!” she says when she sits down again. Looking at the piece of paper and what she had written down I know it will take me some time to find, but I still have the map the woman from the inn has me and I might be able to find where it is with the help of the map.
“Thank you! I will get ready to go!” I tell them and walk over and place my cup down in the sink before walking out of the kitchen and heading over to the room.
Finding my bag with the map inside I take it out and start to search for the address Vera wrote down, it takes me a

moment before I find it.
Folding the map I walk over to my closet and grab my jacket, taking it on I place some money in my pocket and the note before I remember my pills and walk over to my bag and retrieve the small box before I head out of the room to grab their card to use in the store.
“Here Aliza!” Vera says in the hallway when I walk closer to where she stands, she hands me the card and takes my hand in hers when I stop right in front of her.
“It will be alright whatever it is!” she says and I hope she is right.
“I’ll be back in a bit!” I tell her and give her a smile to reassure her I’m fine before she lets go of my hand and I start to walk down the hallway.
Placing the box with the card in my jacket before I take the stairs down and walk out of the house.
I know the bike is just around the corner in a shed and walk over to take it, I know I will get there faster if I use it.
The ride over to the doctor doesn’t take long and my mind has wandered away with me the whole ride over, I just hope whatever it is that is wrong they have something that can help me fast. I want it gone so I can try to move forward.
Reaching the doctor’s office I park the bike outside and make sure it’s properly locked before I turn to look at the

entrance for a moment, I know there is some time left but I might as well walk inside and wait.
Reaching the entrance I push the doors open and walk inside, there is a front desk and I walk over to the woman who stands behind it to announce I’m there.
“Hi, I have a booked appointment!” I say when I stop before her. She lifts her eyes and looks me all over.
“Have you been here before?” she asks when I shake my head no to her.
“What time were you booked?” she asks and turns some papers in front of her.
“Ten a clock, she had gotten a cancellation!” I say when I see her turn the papers again.
“Alright, wait here!” she says and walks inside the room behind her and gets some papers and a pen before she walks out to where I stand and places it down in front of
me.
“Here fill out these forms before the appointment and bring it to the doctor, you can sit down in our waiting area!” she says and points to a room with several chairs lined up.
I take the papers and head over to the area where I take a seat and start to look at them, I instantly see a problem! My
name!
I can write down my real name and what can I use instead?

It takes me a moment to think of the only thing I can come up with, I use their last name!
I hope they won’t mind me using it for the time being.
Writing down everything they need I place my pen on the papers and sit back in my seat when I see a woman in my age comes rushing inside with some papers in her hand.
She takes a seat to my right when she starts to look around for something
“Can I borrow your pen?” she asks when I look down at it and reach it over to her.
“Of course, I’m done!” I say when she gets up and takes a seat beside me before she grabs the pen.
“First time you are here?” she says and I wonder if it’s that obvious.
“Yes, it is!” I say when she points at the papers in my lap.
“I had to fill them in when it where my first time here!” she says and now I understand how she could have known I’m new here.
“So when are you expecting?” she says and I shake my head at her.
“No, I’m not expecting, here for other reasons!” I say to her when she looks me all over.

“No will see about that! I’m never wrong with those things!” she says and I’m about to argue with her when a nurse comes into the room and points at me. Holding the papers in my hand I get up from my chair and start to walk out of the room.
“Well good luck to you when you find out!” the woman says to my back when we walk towards an examination room.
