Seeing him shake his hand off his shoulder before he turns his head back to look at me.
“What did you expect you could do out there? You are nothing else than a human this way and you have nothing to put up against a wolf!” he booms at me and his words hit me right in my heart and it stings.
Not because he is wrong about what I did, but the fact he is right and it’s the way he sees me… A weak human, not fit to be his mate!
He hasn’t said the words, but I feel it in my heart. I shouldn’t be mated to the powerful Darian Black. I’m just the wolfless woman who’s going to be his weak link against any threat.
“You put me in danger by risking getting caught and the safety of this pack if they have gotten a hold of you. What did you expect you could do against them? WHAT?” He barks at me and I have no words to say when I feel a big lump form in my throat. I have to avert my eyes from his and look down at the floor instead. I feel ashamed I didn’t think about it before and the feeling of being useless clouds my mind.
I feel his anger and I know he has a hard time containing his rage at the moment, but I’m not arguing against him on this. He is right and that’s what hurts the most.
“Darian can you calm down!” his father says again and I try to swallow several times to be able and say something.

“I think you should take a run around the pack grounds instead and get some steam off,” his father says again and I hear Darian growl. Lifting my eyes I see his father has grabbed his shoulder and they both have a standoff.
Fur starts to coat Darian’s arms and I know he is about to shift when Jeffrey walks up behind him and grabs him with some of the other guards and quickly gets him inside the elevator. Hearing him growl when the doors start to close he turns his head and looks at me.
When his black eyes meet mine my breath gets stuck in my throat and I feel hurt over all this.
Once the elevator starts to move the room falls silent for a long moment until Liz breaks the silence.
“I’m sorry for this Aliza!” she says and I hear the pain in her voice when I shake my head at her.
“It’s not your fault!” I say and I mean it. I followed after her on my own and got into the mess I did. I should have thought about it before.
“You know he had placed a safety on the elevator so no one could get up with it, just to keep you safe. That’s why you couldn’t get it down” his father says and it all makes sense when nothing happened when I tried to get back that way.
“He is angry right now because he found you in that dangerous situation, but he will come around!” he continues to say while I just give him a nod and if I stay here another minute I might break down in

“It’s alright!” I say to try and brush it off when I don’t want to show them my real feelings. I quickly turn around to get back to his room and get a moment to myself. Tears prick behind my eyelids and I just need a second to collect myself.
“I’m here to take you to the hospital!” his father says and I had
completely forgotten about the command he placed over me and all the questions I got for the doctor.
“I’m ready to go in a second!” I say and quickly walk back to his room, just need a moment to myself and get dressed before we go.
