Seventy–Seven
Alexander’s POV
I looked at my friends with my brow raised, “I’m certain that even before you voiced out those thoughts you already knew what my answer would be.” I told them.
“Oh come on dude! You’re too boring for your own good. One night out wouldn’t hurt.” Caleb groaned.
“Dude!” I mimicked him, “I’m not going clubbing, okay?”
Caleb rolled his eyes before turning to Mason who just shrugged, “Majority vote.” He declared and I groaned.
“I’m in.” Caleb raised his hand.
“I’m in too,” Mason said with a grin and we all turned to Blake knowing that he was the determinant at that point. He had not been completely paying attention so he had been startled by the three pairs of eyes that suddenly landed on him at the same time. And then he chuckled, leaning into the couch,
“I don’t really care, really. Let’s go.” He shrugged, causing Mason and Caleb to cheer while I just rolled my eyes.
“Whose car are we taking?” Caleb asked.
“I’m taking mine. The rest of you can ride together.” I shrugged.
“Hell no,” Mason said. “You think it’s gonna be that easy for you to escape?”
“I wasn’t trying to escape. What?” I scoffed but it was like they weren’t even listening to me.
“Caleb is riding with you and I’ll go with Blake.” Mason decided and I groaned.
“Not Caleb!”
“We’re taking the BMW, babe.” He appeared from nowhere and whispered into my ears.
I shivered, “Ew man!” I yelled, my nose wrinkled in disgust while they all burst out laughing. How did I even manage to be friends with such idiots? It was a question I asked myself every day.
“Relax, man. It’ll be fun. You’re not gonna have time for things like this after the coronation so you should enjoy it while it lasts.”
“The coronation, huh?” I said as they began to get up to leave. “Wasn’t that why I called y’all here in the first place? Have we picked a date?” I glared at them and Blake’s eyes went wide before sitting down.
“Fuck, you’re right.” He whispered as he pulled out his iPad once again.
We indeed went to the club that night, leaving at the same time in two different cars and arriving at the same time. Caleb was driving while I was in the passenger seat even though it was my car. Why? Because all three of them came to a decision that that was what was best otherwise I would run
off.
It was a stupid thought but I did not have the strength to

argue with them so I just went with it wondering why on earth I would run off. Was the club a scary place?
It could be.
I shifted in my seat, relieved when Caleb diverted from the road leading to Crown and turned left into another road. No matter how flexible I was trying to be tonight, no amount of persuasion would make me step into that place unless I really needed to and I hoped I never needed to.
The club we stopped in front of was much smaller and simpler than Crown but I didn’t care at all. As long as it wasn’t that hellish place, I was fine.
We all got down from the cars and met at the center before walking into the building. The music hit us immediately as we walked in, blaring through the speaker and right into our ears. I didn’t know who lied to me that I would be comfortable because I didn’t feel even the least bit comfortable. It seemed like in a setting like this, I would always be reminded of Isabella and I did not like it in the slightest. Not in this way.
“Dude relax.” Blake laughed, slapping me on the back.
“Honestly though, you look like you’re afraid that you’re gonna get robbed,” Mason said and they all laughed while I just rolled my eyes as I sat alongside them at the table Blake picked out.
Caleb got up, “I’m gonna get drinks so a certain someone can loosen up, ” He said, giving me a side eye to let me know that I was the ‘certain someone‘ but I just ignored him.
Caleb soon came back with a tray of drinks, handing out
everyone’s requests before standing in front of the table, eyes

gleaming in mischief. I groaned internally wondering what he planned to do next.
“Come on boys, to the dance floor.” He said with a grin.
I remembered not being the only one to protest this time. I remembered hearing someone telling Caleb that he was too excited. I remembered all of us being against it and Blake commenting on how we just got there but somehow, we were all in the middle, eyes shooting daggers at Caleb as he told us to have fun before declaring that he was going to find himself a dance partner.
Just then I caught a whiff of a scent that was strangely similar to Isabella’s. Similar because it definitely couldn’t be her. She was at Chloe’s, right? I shook my head at myself, was I really missing her so much that I had begun to hallucinate her scent? It was a good thing the guys around me didn’t know what was going on in my mind right now because they would have teased me mercilessly and I’d never hear the end of it.
‘The day Alexander had hallucinated Isabella’s scent in a random club filled with random people.‘ I could even see the headlines of the gist already.
I took a sip of my drink. It was purely reflex since the cup had already been sitting in my hand. I remembered telling Caleb to pick something for me since I couldn’t make a decision and it seemed my dear friend had ordered me the strongest mixture on the menu. Otherwise, it was just weirdly strong.
After my first sip, I set it down somewhere and that was when I noticed a corner where people seemed to be gathering. I mean it was a club, filled with tons of people and ! probably should’ve just ignored it since it could be anything but I

couldn’t help myself.
I had never been one to be nosy but it was almost like it was calling me and would you believe it, the scent I had thought to be a fluke grew stronger with each step I took.
“Aren’t you the Alpha’s mate?” I heard some guy say at the same time I saw her. I cursed, she had said she was going to be with Chloe but seriously omitted the part about them hanging out at a nightclub?
Chloe was standing right beside her and her face was red with anger, making me wonder what on earth the man had said to her before I got close enough to hear.
“What’s your deal?” She gritted out and I expected to hear the sound of glass breaking at any moment with how tight she was holding that flute.
“You were totally just grinding another dude just now.”
I froze. What? That couldn’t be right and when I looked into Isabella’s face, I didn’t know what I saw in her eyes, but I could see that I was right. She would not do that. So who the hell was this bully?
Forcing myself to calm down, I pushed through the crowd until I was beside her and immediately slid my hand around her waist and pulled her to myself.
She tensed before almost immediately relaxing. She had seemed almost frightened just now and that was enough for me to want to destroy this guy’s nose.
Composing myself, I looked around at the chattering crowd which had since gone silent at my appearance.

“I heard that there was a party happening and brought my mate with me,” I spoke in a strong voice and they all began to bow but somehow it only made me angrier. “Is that such a bad thing?” I turned to the audacious man with a glare, “Am I not allowed to do that?”
He immediately fell on his knees, bowing low as he apologized over and over again but Mason and Caleb had already grabbed one of his arms each.
I turned back to the crowd, my anger beginning to grow more evident, “Look at how you’re all shaking like I’m going to kill you or something, and yet you treat my mate with so much disrespect. How dare you?” I growled. “She would never do something like that. She is your Luna and you’re all extremely lucky that she’s not feeling malicious today.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Caleb and Mason pulling the guy away, saying something about how he needed to be punished. I agreed, I just didn’t want to be the one to do it otherwise I really might’ve killed him. Mistakenly.
With my arm still around Isabella, I pulled my eyes away from them and steered us out of the crowd as everyone parted immediately we got near.
I led us out until we were outside before finally removing my arms from around her and without sparing her another glance, I walked away to find my car.
She kept calling me but I did not answer and just as I got close to the car, I heard her heels clicking against the asphalt as she
ran to me.
