Isabella’s POV
The club was bustling with people and the vibes were very over the roof. Chloe and I had arrived together. I had stopped at her house first and she lent me a dress since I no longer had any club–worthy dresses. I had gone to her and Ryder’s home from work and we left after Ryder forced us to eat because it was foolish to drink on an empty stomach.
It was the first time I would notice that I had completely no reaction to seeing Ryder and Chloe all lovey–dovey together and perhaps it was because things were now going smoothly with Alexander but I was proud of myself. It would have been unfair to them as well as myself if I still couldn’t stomach seeing them together even though I had since gotten over Ryder.
This club was not as big or sophisticated as Crown but whoever was hosting this party had some mean marketing skills because the place was packed. The music was good as well and I couldn’t help the way I was dancing. The music and the vibes were just that good.
My hair was literally flying with every jump I made as I partied like someone who just got old enough to drink. The interior wasn’t all that and as well and trust me to always look out for the artistic stuff whether consciously or unconsciously.
Chloe was partying just as hard as me, moving her body even as she went to go get us both drinks. She came back with two glasses of tequila and I made a mental note not to drink too

much tonight. “Now just imagine the fun you’d have missed out on if you didn’t come.” She shouted over the music.
It was that kind of party; the type where you had to shout in order for you and the person you were speaking to to hear you over all the noise.
“I don’t want to imagine,” I shouted back and we both burst into laughter.
Taking the drink she handed to me, I pulled Chloe’s arm as I led us to a seating area so we could rest a bit. We took a sip of our drinks at the same time only to burst out laughing when we swallowed. I really missed this, I realized.
Hanging out with my best friend and laughing like the teenagers that we were not like we had no care in the world. It had been a while and I hated that we ever had such a
misunderstanding.
Chloe sighed. “This is fun.”
“I know,” I said, dragging out the last word.
“Did you tell the Alpha though? I know you were skeptical before. Did he agree?”
I felt something stir in the pit of my stomach. Something very unpleasant. It was guilt, I realized as my entire mood dampened.
Yes, I told Alexander that I was going to hang out with Chloe, did he agree? Yes, he did, but with how easily he shrugged it off, I was certain he didn’t think it was going to be at a club and I didn’t bother to explain to him because I knew he
wouldn’t particularly like the idea of me being here.

That was lying by omission, wasn’t it? I groaned as I massaged my temples before getting up and forcing myself back onto the dance floor again in an attempt to forget that I was doing something wrong.
Chloe followed me, looking concerned. I shut my eyes and willed the music to take me once again. I felt Chloe’s presence beside me and hoped to the heavens that she doesn’t say anything that would make me feel even more guilty than I already did.
Just then, I felt someone grind against me and my eyes flew open, appalled and disgusted. I glared at the guy who dared to touch me and he just raised his hands in the air before walking off.
Chloe on the other hand threw him a resounding slap before he could get far, one that had his head snapping to the other side before she followed after me.
“Are you okay?” She asked and I just shrugged. Chloe sighed, “You know as much as this party is hella fun, minus the rude guys of course, I still think you should have let Alexander know that you were coming here.”
“I get it, I’m a terrible mate, okay?” I snapped angrily and she just sighed.
“You’re not a terrible mate.” She said, “Here, you forgot your drink back there.” She said, handing me back my drink. I took it and took a long gulp, feeling the burn in my throat. Maybe I should get drunk after all? I hated how low my mood had gone.
“Luna?”

A random guy had barely rubbed himself against me when I practically told him off. My best friend even slapped him for goddess‘ sake. Was he the one spreading this? Was he that pissed that Chloe slapped him?
Chloe stepped in front of me, shielding me from the guy but it was no use, more people were beginning to turn towards me and I wanted nothing more than for the ground to open up
and swallow me.
“Is that really the Luna?”
“I’ve never seen her before.”
“She’s beautiful.”
“Yeah, but isn’t it weird that she’s here?”
Chloe grabbed my drink from my hand as I stared around the place, seeing but not seeing. The air was getting too thick and breathing felt like a struggle.
Chloe placed my drink and hers down on a nearby table before taking my hand and pulling me in the other direction. It was useless though.
The place had already been alarmingly packed before and with the people gathered around me, it was even much more difficult to leave. I tried to concentrate on breathing but I was also beginning to get a terrible migraine.
“Is the goddess punishing me?” I whispered to Chloe, who looked at me with a sympathetic frown. “I feel like I’m being punished.”
Chloe bit her lip, “I’m so sorry Bella, I didn’t know it would be

like this.” She whispered just before I felt a hand slip around my waist and pull me flush against his lean torso.
Breathing heavily, I peered up beside me, seeing my mate’s stony gaze fixed on the crowd in front of us and especially at the talkative man, the instigator of the whole mess.
Although I felt like the biggest idiot right at that moment and couldn’t yet fathom that he was actually here, I leaned into him, letting my head rest on his shoulder. I might not have deserved it, but I needed the comfort only the bond was capable of bringing. And I needed it fast because I felt like I might burst into tears at any point.
“I heard that there was a party happening and brought my mate with me,” Alexander spoke, his voice so deep and domineering, the people who seemed to have been in a trance began to bow deeply. I even had a shiver run down my own spine. “Is that such a bad thing?”
He turned to the man, “Am I not allowed to do that?”
