Alexander’s POV
I shut my eyes tightly, silently cursing myself. When I opened them again, I saw Isabella looking at me with an anxious look in her eyes, her teeth biting her bottom lip.
Reaching forward, I took her warm hands in mine, instantly feeling the tingles. Holding them tight, I looked up at her, going ahead to hold her gaze as well.
“I’m sorry.”
“Why…” She started, her eyes narrowing in confusion.
“I promised that we’ll talk about everything that needs to be addressed and fix everything that needs to be fixed between us but I’ve hardly been around.”
She waved it off with a small chuckle, “I understand that you‘ ve been busy. You have a duty to the pack.”
“And I have a duty to you as well. You are my mate Isabella. You are my family. That’s what we are.” She stared at me, freeing her lip from her teeth as her lips parted slightly.
“I let anger and jealousy control me…” I continued. “I was unnecessarily hard on you, I called you names. I am too ashamed to even think about it now. I yelled at you constantly and I was just…so stubborn. Even when I realized that you did nothing wrong and that I was being irrational, I did not know how to go back and make things right again and the problem Яf your safety had come up as well. I knew that my mate

would be a target and so to prevent anything from happening I wanted to hide your identity for as long as I needed to. It was why I still did not acknowledge you at the ball. The danger was just too close. What I did not realize was that if I had just told everyone a lot earlier, you would have so much
protection as the Luna already. It would be impossible to even harm you.”
“I–I didn’t know about that.” She whispered.
“It was all for nothing.” I scoffed bitterly.
She squeezed my hand, “Don’t be too hard on yourself. I hurt you too. That night at the club, I didn’t even recognize you as my mate. I mistook the hints of the bond as the alcohol intensifying my need to be laid by the unbelievably handsome man in front of me.” She blushed, “You had watched me flirt with different men, dance provocatively with them, I-”
“You were angry and heartbroken.”
“Yes, but you didn’t know that at the time. I was unbelievably rude to you. I offered to pay you to have sex with me.” She covered her face with her hands. “I was just eager to forget and you were making me feel ways I had never felt.”
I chuckled, “The bond had a very strong pull on you and yet you did not notice it.”
“Finding my mate that night was the last thing I expected and I was awfully drunk. I’m sorry.”
“I’m the one who dragged things out of proportion. I’m annoyed with myself because if I had just calmed down and listened to you then, things would have gone differently and much better.”

Isabella sighed. “Can’t we both apologize? For everything.”
I glanced at her, “Isabella.”
“I’ll accept yours if you accept mine.”
I stared at her in disbelief before shaking my head as a chuckle escaped my lips. Not saying another word, I leaned across the table and cupped her face in my hands before kissing her deeply.
When I pulled back, her eyes shone and her lips were parted slightly. I had to look away to prevent myself from going farther.
“I accept your apology, Isabella.”
She smiled, “And I accept yours.”
“I want us to be mates in every sense of the word. I want us to be together, I want you to be my Luna. I…” My cheeks heated up, “I know you love your own space but I hope you don’t get sick of living with me because I don’t think I’d be able to fall asleep without you beside me ever again.”
Isabella giggled, her own cheeks turning red as well. “I’m not going anywhere.” She said and I couldn’t help the burst of happiness that I felt in my chest at her words. “Um, I would like to add a few personal touches though.” She bit her lip.
“It’s your home as well, Bella. You can do whatever you like.”
I watched as tears welled up in her eyes and darted my thumb out, catching the first drop. “I’ve made you cry so much since you met me. I only ever want to make you happy, Isabella.” I whispered.

“These are happy tears.” She promised and I wanted to say more. I wanted to talk about how hard it was to see her cry endlessly the way she did when we got her back and that it was all my fault but I remembered that we had agreed to put that behind us so I just nodded.
“Plus, I think my ‘fierceness‘ might be broken.” She chuckled, “But it’s alright, I like this Bella, she’s happy.” She said with a genuine smile that relaxed my mind. “I like this Alexander as well. He’s unbelievably cheesy.”
I burst into laughter, not expecting that but I guess she was right.
“Planning for a ceremony to officially announce Isabella Rossi as the Luna and fully welcome her back is ongoing by the way. I thought I should let you know.”
Her eyes widened as she pointed at herself. I nodded and she looked like she might cry again and I was thankful when she didn’t. “Do you think I would make a good Luna?” She asked.
“Yes,” I replied in a heartbeat. “The pack already loves you Isabella and even if they did not, I would not have anyone else.”
She swatted my hand, “Cheesy!” She accused, giggling.
We finished our dessert and as we collected our coats so we could make our way back to the packhouse. I got a text from Blake, telling me that we needed to have an important meeting as soon as possible. I glanced at the time and cursed. Why now?
Isabella looked at me worriedly and I regretfully explained to her. ‘It’s alright.” She said, pressing her lips to my cheek. “I

understand.” She said with a smile.
We drove home in a peaceful silence, my free hand resting on hers. When we got to the pack house, I walked her up to our wing and pressed a kiss onto her forehead, promising to get back as soon as I could before going back downstairs.
Blake was waiting for me in the reception of my office and we shook hands before I went to open my door so we could both go in. We went through a couple of documents until we heard a knock at the door and before I could say anything it was pushed open to reveal Caleb followed shortly by Mason.
Handshakes were passed around before Caleb’s eyes narrowed on me, “You smell like Bella, dude.” Mason slapped him upside the head but we all knew that that would never stop Caleb. “Look at that suit! Are you just coming back from a date? Is that red lipstick on the side of your mouth?”
I raised my fingers to my face and they all burst out laughing. They went further to tease me about Isabella and Caleb told me he had been waiting for the perfect time to tell me how funny it was to see me go all soft when we finally rescued Isabella, even going ahead to mimic my actions.
Luckily for me, Blake chased them out soon after all that. We continued with our work and I gave Caleb orders to check on the files of the newbies in the fighting and tracking team just before he left. There had been so much to do once we came
back.
The security sector of our pack was a major concern and I’d rather lose sleep looking into it and perfecting it than lose sleep over another kidnap or attack.
My phone rang minutes later and I smiled subconsciously

when I saw that it was Isabella. She told me that she was still waiting for me and I told her I would see her soon and I ended the call with an embarrassing smile on my face after she told me that she misses me already.
When I dropped the phone on my table, I noticed the uncomfortable look on Blake’s face and bit my lip. I was right then thinking that he was not over Isabella yet.
I felt a bit bad for him probably because if I had acknowledged Isabella right from the beginning and everyone knew she was my mate from the start, he would never have fallen.
I knew Blake would never act on his feelings knowing that she was my mate and I hoped he found his own mate soon or at least someone that would help him forget Isabella. Because she was mine and will always be mine.
