Hundred and Sixty–Three
Alexander’s POV.
I was pacing the living room two hours later, agitated and stressed with my mind all over the place, waiting for news of Isabella’s whereabouts. I had sent guards out to look for her and also to find Chloe, Ryder had gone out to try and find Chloe too.
He’d also made some calls to track down her car. He had been worried and so was I, Chloe had left my house and now she was missing too with her baby. I was surprised that Ryder had not punched me, I know I would if the case were reversed.
In fact, I wanted to punch something, there was too much restless energy coursing through my body and I needed to find a way to release it or risk going crazy.
I was getting more impatient as the seconds passed, it had been two fucking whole hours since I had been waiting, thinking of where she could possibly be and I’d come up with nothing.
It was unlike Isabella to just randomly go missing without at least taking her guards and even if she’d gone on one of her long walks, her phone was always on.
It was even more unusual for her to take such a huge amount of money without telling me first. Whatever kind of trouble she was in, it wasn’t good and it scared me of what could possibly be happening to her right now without my knowledge.
I tried calling her number again, this would be the two hundredth time I had tried it and it was still unreachable. My stomach sank and my fist clenched.

Was this the silver pack’s doing? Had they threatened her? Was that why she’d gone to take three million dollars out of the blue from the bank?
If they were responsible for Isabella’s disappearance, I was going to kill every single last member of the pack, everyone fucking one!
I needed to calm down so I could think straight but I could barely see straight. My nerves were all over the place and my head was hurting and I was angry but I had no idea who or what to channel my anger towards.
She had to be somewhere around the pack but I didn’t know where the guards I had sent earlier were still not back. I wanted to send another batch of guards to go find her but I’d already sent three different batches out.
I knew she was alive but I also knew she was in danger, danger that I couldn’t fight because I had no idea what the fuck it was! Or the hell was behind it.
My breathing became shallow the longer I waited. My entire body was stiff and rigid as a pole.
“Hey…” I felt Blake’s hands grab my shoulders and squeezed it. “She’s going to be found no matter what it takes,” He tried to calm me down but I could barely process the words anyone was trying to say to me. At that point, all I wanted was to see her again and hold her in my arms again.
I felt like a terrible mate for not staying with her or asking her more questions when I noticed her odd behavior this morning. This was all my fault.
“Agh!” I punched the coffee table and watched it break in half. “What’s taking so fucking long?!” I growled.

“You have to calm down.” Mason started to say but immediately clamped his mouth shut when he saw the look I threw at him.
I combed both hands through my hair in frustration as I continued to pace, “It’s been two fucking hours, where are the guards, Blake? Have you tried to reach them?”
“I’ll try calling again,” Blake said and immediately brought out his phone to do just that.
“Do you have any idea where she could possibly be?” Caleb asked, his expression, worried. I couldn’t tell if he was worried that I’d suddenly pounce on him or if he was worried about Isabella as much as I was, but whatever it was his question still riled me up.
“If I knew where the hell she was, I wouldn’t be pacing, worrying to death.” I snapped at him, tired of being asked questions I had no idea about.
I stormed out of the living room and marched to the pack office where Silas, the pack’s head tech guy, was trying to track Isabella’s phone.
“Any news?” I asked him immediately I barged into the office, startling- him and every other person in the room.
They all stood and bowed when they finally recovered from the shock of me being there. “Not yet, Alpha. It seems like she’s just
disappeared.” He explained as he stared up at me. “I’ve been trying all day, it would be easier if her phone wasn’t turned off,”
A beeping sound caused him to look back at his screen and his eyes lit up. “Wait, I think she’s back, she’s…” he zoomed into the screen, squinting to see what was on it even though he had his glasses.
“She appears to be in the woods of the southern border.” He glanced back at me.

I stormed out of the office quickly, Blake whom I hadn’t noticed had followed me here, behind me.
“What are you going to do now?” He asked as he hurried beside me.
“To find her obviously. Round up a few guards, we are going to the southern border. Now!” I punctuated, still power–walking through the yard.
“Alright, boss, right away,” Blake said and hurried towards where the guards were.
I ran up to my bedroom as fast as possible to pick up my keys and rushed back down.
I had no idea what she was doing there but I needed to go get her, there was a cliff at the edge of the southern border, and if she was planning to… No, I shook my head, that did not make any sense. Why would she need three million dollars if she planned on jumping over the cliff?
Stop it, Alexander, she’s fine! My wolf reprimanded and I hung onto those words for dear life. She had to be fine for my sanity, she had to be. I rationalized with myself.
“I’m coming with you,” Caleb and Mason said simultaneously as they hurried behind me.
I glanced back at the both of them. They looked just as worried as I was. I knew they wanted to help but I couldn’t have everyone leaving the mansion unprotected.
“Only one person can come, someone has to stay behind and watch over the pack. I don’t know what the hell is going on but we can’t leave the mansion exposed, without protection.”
“I’ll stay behind,” Mason said after a pause.

“Good,” I’d prefer him to stay, he was the strategist between him and Caleb. I’d need Caleb’s strength and street smarts for whatever we were going to meet in the southern border.
Blake joined us as we walked past the living room into the foyer. “Where are they?” I asked, referring to the guards that I had told him to round off.
“The car is ready and the guards are already waiting outside.
We were close to the front door when it suddenly burst open revealing Isabella and behind her. Chloe holding her baby.
We all stopped in our tracks, surprised to see her. She’d been about an hour away just twenty minutes ago. How did she get here so fast? Did she run? In her wolf form? The woman was pregnant for Goddess’s sake!
“Whoa, what’s going on? We having a party or something?” She chuckled nervously as her eyes swept through the crowd of people behind me. Behind Chloe had a look of fear in her eyes as she cradled her baby
“Isabella!” I whispered, relief flooding me as I ran up to her and pulled her roughly into a hug.
“Someone is happy to see me.” She joked and I pulled away slightly from her and cradled her face in my hands, glad she was in one piece. She looked up at me, her eyes hiding something.
I didn’t care about that now. I was just glad she was safe and back in my arms.
“Where were you?” I asked softly, my heart that had been in my throat all day finally settling in its rightful position and my stiff body finally relaxing.

I rested my head on hers, the pad of my thumb brushing her cheeks. “I was worried out of my mind, Isabella. I thought…” I swallowed, “I thought I lost you.”
“I’m fine as you can see.” She said as she cradled my face in her arms.
“Thankfully, yes.” I breathed.
Out of my peripheral view, I watched as Ryder came out of nowhere and ran up to Chloe, hugging her and Xeke fiercely in his arms.
“What the hell happened to you?” He asked, kissing his mate’s forehead and still holding her fiercely to him as Xeke began to cry.
