Isabella’s POV
“Are you out of your mind?” Chloe whisper–shouted through the phone, a tone of disbelief lacing her voice.
“My goodness Bella, how could you have been so foolish? Believing Antonio of all people? Seriously Bella. I can’t believe you let him trick you!”
Chloe’s voice came out in an angry burst of whispers, probably trying not to alert Ryder.
She heaved a sigh and even though I couldn’t see her, I could tell she was scowling and I didn’t blame her. What I did was dumb and selfish.
“I mean, I told you to tell Alexander about Antonio and you decided to fall for his schemes. Have you learnt nothing? Stealing from Alexander for Antonio? Bella!” She yelled my name in a disappointed tone.
I knew I had fucked up but hearing it now from Chloe made me want to scream at myself for being so guilable.
“I Know, I know but…” I began to say but was quickly cut off by Chloe.
“But what? You thought the man that kidnapped you and sexuality assaulted you was telling you the truth about your mate killing your parents? Do you have any idea how stupid that sounds? I can’t express in words how disappointed I am in you.”

My stomach turned and twisted into painful knots as the weight of what I’d done dawned on me. “Oh my God Chloe, what am I going to do?” I whispered, my throat dry and my head heavy with confusion. I could feel my eyes sting with unshed tears and my face burn with emberrassment.

“There’s only one thing to do now, you have to tell Alexander the truth, everything this time,” She said pointedly.
“But I can’t, Antonio would kill me and my baby if I speak a word of this to anyone. There has to be another way. I can’t.” I pleaded with a broken voice. There had to be a better way.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Isabella. Antonio won’t be able to do jack shit if Alexander knows about this. Tell him. If you had told him in the first place you wouldn’t be in this big a mess now.”
“I know but it’s too late now, the document I handed over to Antonio is incredibly important and Alexander will hate me forever if he…”
“Listen to me, you have to put all of that aside and understand that if you don’t inform Alexander now, the blackmail will only get worse. Today it’s the financial statement of the pack, tomorrow it’s Alexander‘ s head! I don’t think I have to remind you how much of a psychopath Antonio is.”
And he was, A psychopath that held me captive for weeks, torturing me and slowly killing me. I had already accepted death when Alexander found me. I shuddered at the memory of him touching me inappropriately and felt the urge to puke my guts out.

“Okay, I’ll tell him.” I said as I took in a shaky breath. “I’ll tell him today.” I repeated frmly this time.

“I’m serious Isabella you have to tell him, if I find out you chickened out again, I will tell him myself. I can’t watch you throw your life away. I won’t do it.”
Chloe said firmly.
I could hear the conviction in her voice and it encouraged me to want to tell Alexander.
Of course he’d probably hate me but it was better he heard it from my mouth and hated me now, than from someone else and hated me
forever.
“I’ll tell him, I promise.” I said, even though I was scared out of my mind.
I was too afraid to tell Alexander but it was something that had to be done now but how? How do I tell my mate that I had believed his evil twin over him?
My heart leaped out of my chest when the door to my room suddenly opened. I hung up quickly when I saw Alexander walking in and tried my best to look natural.
I was thankful that the tears in my eyes had dried up because it would have been hard to explain.
“Hey baby. You are back!” The words came rushing out of my mouth. I cringed at how suspicious my voice sounded.
“Yes, I am.” Alexander eyesd me, a look of suspicious confusion on his face.

“You okay?” He asked me as he hung up his suit jacket on the jacket
rack.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” I asked as I rubbed my sweaty palms on my dress.
“Who were you talking to?”

Alexander groaned out as he crashed down on the bed, he’d just taken a quick shower while I sat thinking of ways to broach the topic of Antonio and the stupid thing I’d done. I stretched my hands to pluck an oil from the top of the dresser close to bed and poured some in my hands. I placed the tiny bottle on his back and stared to slather the oil all over his bed.

“Yes!” He groaned when I began to apply pressure on his shoulders, hitting all the pressure points.”
“You like that?” I whispered into his ears.
“Yes…” he groaned out.
“Right there “he directed when I began to massage his biceps and triceps.

Breakfast was unusually awkward the next day. Everyone was present but it seemed like they were absent at the same time. The usual banter was gone and I felt a guilty pang in my stomach tha this was all my fault.
Blake was picking at his food and Mason was glancing from Blake to Alexander every two seconds. Caleb who usually had some kind of story looked like he didn’t even want to be here.
Alexander had a perpetual scowl on his face.
The silence was defening and I couldn’t take it anymore.
“So, Caleb, any special lady we should know about?” I tried to bring up something to talk about.

Caleb left a few minutes later without a single word and Mason and Blake stood at the same time as I did.
I was already out of the dinning hall when Blake called me back.

“One of the guards told me you came looking for me two days ago, said you wanted to speak with me?” He said with furrowed brows.
Shit! I had totally forgotten that I had ran into one of his guards two days ago.
“Um, yes. I came to… ask about Sasha. Yeah, I hadn’t seen her in a while and I have tried calling her but haven’t been able to reach her.”
“Oh, I see…“he said, his voice carrying a skeptical weight.
“I’ll let her know you are looking for her.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem.” He said before walking out of the dinning hall.
I let out a breath I didn’t even realize I had been holding.
That was close and another reason, I had to find the right time to confess to Alexander.
