Hundred and Forty–Seven
Alexander’s POV
“Thank you. I’ll be sure to let her know,” I said into the phone shortly and I hung up.
“Another one?” Blake asked, an amused look on his face.
“Yup,” I confirmed and Blake chuckled. He had been a key witness to every phone call I had received over the last couple of days and he knew just as I knew how tiring it had started to become.
This was the thirtieth call I had received today and it was just 10 am. Isabella had made me a busier man than usual. After the announcement that we were expecting a child in our household, I’d barely been able to put my phone down.
Everyone wanted to either congratulate me or send a gift including friends of my father and mother. Isabella seemed to be enjoying the gestures and to some extent so was I.
I had had people in the pack and some of my father’s old friends donate funds to work on some projects, like renovating some infrastructure in the pack but I was still overwhelmed.
I had initially thought only the Luna would be the one getting all the attention but it seemed I was incredibly wrong. “Another congratulation or a check this time?” Blake inquired. He had a ghost of a smile threatening to turn into a full–blown one.
“Both.” I said, rubbing my temple. I was exhausted from all the phone calls and just when I thought it was all over, my phone rang again.

“Yes, Mason?”
I spoke into the phone.
“She’s here with me,” Mason said and I immediately knew who he was talking about.
An exhausted sigh escaped my lips before I spoke again.
“Alright, I’ll be right out,” I said to him before hanging up. “Let’s go, Blake,” I told Blake as I walked out of my office.
Mason was standing, waiting for me just outside the pack house with Rhea by his side. She looked exhausted, a shadow of herself. She had been locked up for a week after all.
“Lexi!” The girl called when she noticed me and I put up my hands to silence her, uninterested in acting chummy with her. She frowned, hurt by my gesture but didn’t say anything more.
“You should know that the only reason you are no longer locked up is because Isabella begged me to release you over and over again. If I had my way you’d be there for a couple of months more.”
“But Lexi, it was an accident…”
“Silence Rhea and don’t call me that.”
She shut her mouth immediately.
“Now, for what I wanted to say to you. I’m giving you a total of two weeks to move your things out of the pack and find some other pack to go for refuge. I can no longer accommodate you. You’ve proven yourself to be a danger to the Luna. You are no longer welcome here, and another thing, I don’t want to see you in the pack house till you leave. If I catch so much as a glimpse of you, there will be

consequences. Good day Rhea.”
It pained me to have to discard an old friend but she had disrespected my wife on multiple occasions and assaulted her, there was no way I was going to let that slide. Whether or not I lost the alliance I had with her father was now inconsequential.
Mason looked sad and so did Blake. We had been friends and I understood their grief but at the same time good riddance.
“Take her away Mason,” I said before turning around.
“This isn’t fair Lexi!” She called out but I ignored her.
“You did the right thing.” Blake patted me on the back.
“I know,” I said before walking towards the mansion.

I found Isabella in bed eating mayonnaise from a jar. Another weird food she had picked up. She had been having a lot of morning sickness lately, like puking, headache, dizziness, and even fatigue.
I was low–key glad she had started to get her morning sickness. It meant I didn’t have to berate her to get some rest, she did that all on
her own now.
“Hey, baby.” She waved when I came into view. I chuckled at the view before me. She looked comfortable surrounded by a bunch of pillows and in front of her were two jars of pickles, a jar of peanut butter, and
mayo.
“Hey, my love. You look cozy.” I eyed the little sanctuary she had made herself.
“Yeah, I just feel a bit sick today. You want some.” She asked, raising

her pickle covered with mayo for me to take.
I shook my head vehemently. I absolutely did not want some. “It’s delicious, try it.” She urged when she saw the face I made.
“And I’m sure you genuinely think so but no thank you.”
She shrugged and bit into her mayo–covered pickle. I chuckled in response. She was so cute, it was breathtaking. I glanced at the TV and glanced back at her. “What are you watching?” I glanced at her.
“A reality show about a bunch of women trying to find their mate or love on a remote island.”
“What, they couldn’t find love within their pack?”
“Appears so,” She shrugged again.
“By the way, I’ve released Rhea. She’ll be out of the pack in two weeks.”
“Thank you, love,” she said with a smile.
“I did it for you, to be honest, she deserves to rot in jail for what she did.”
“I’m just glad she’s out of our lives now.” She said and I nodded.
“Me too.”
“Why is she dumping him?” I growled annoyed by the TV show that I had been forced to watch and was frankly enjoying. I glanced at Isabella for answers and she shrugged.

embarrassed her before by choosing that blonde girl-” She pointed to a petit blond woman on the screen, “-as his date on the fifth episode instead of her. Apparently, he’d been love bombing her and then dropped her the last minute, so she was left without a date that night.”
“Whoa, that’s terrible. What episode is this now?”
“Season four episode twelve.”
“Oh, she can carry a grudge!”
“In her defense, she would have been sent home in season one if Cooper hadn’t saved her.”
I couldn’t believe it, I was with my beautiful Luna who was carrying my child, watching something I ordinarily would not be caught dead watching. To say I was blessed was an understatement. I was delirious with joy.
Isabella and I both binge–watched the show till the late hours of the evening when we had to come down for dinner.
I had suggested the maid bring up the food but Isabella had refused, saying she was feeling much better than she had earlier and that she wanted to stretch her legs. Of course, I had not bothered to argue with her logic.
“Lasagna for dinner? Hell yeah!” Caleb clapped excitedly like a baby who had just been told he could have one cookie.
“You have the Luna to thank for that one, that’s what she wanted today,” I said to Caleb, just as glad as he was.
“No more fish?” he glanced at Isabella
“No more fish,” Isabella confirmed with an amused smile.

“What do the north and south borders look like?” I asked Caleb.
“Good, the reports are looking good enough. There haven’t been any crimes lately, except the occasional petty stealing,”
“I see, and the reports on the murder of the little girl’s parents?”
“Still on.” Caleb said and I nodded.

Isabella chipped in, asking how it was possible they still hadn’t solved the case and Caleb responded by giving all the reports he had gotten. Isabella was upset and unsatisfied with the reports and lashed out at Caleb,
“Hey, hey, that’s alright. We’ll find the culprits, you don’t have to scream.” I said as I squeezed her hands in reassurance.
I wasn’t sure what was going on whether it was her hormones but she seemed a little too upset about it. She gazed up at me for the longest time before finally nodding.
“I’m sorry Caleb, I didn’t mean to…” She started to apologize but Caleb immediately waved her off.
“It’s alright. You have every right to be upset about it.” Caleb said to
her.
I was sure Caleb was thinking the same thing that I was thinking, Isabella had been a bit emotional about her parents lately, coupled with the fact that she was pregnant, so it made sense that she lashed out and I was glad Caleb picked up on that.
“Sorry to interrupt Alpha-” A maid said beside me and bowed when I turned to look at her, “-but a letter came for you.” She said to the Luna and Isabella snatched the letter from the maid a little too fast.

“It was accompanied by a gift too.” The maid said and gestured behind her.
There was a bouquet of lilies and a huge gift basket being carried by a guard. The guard brought the gift basket to the table and the first thing on top was a mask that resembled the mask I wore to the pack party.
Beside me, I heard Isabella gasp in horror and I glanced up at her and she was looking down at the basket like she had seen a ghost. “Is everything okay, Bella?” I asked worriedly.
“Y…yes.” She stuttered.
“Everything is fine.”
