Isabella’s POV
“You look radiant, child.” Alexander’s mother said to me as soon as I got to the living room in that regal tone her voice always seemed to have. She was wearing a silk pink blouse with brown pants and black heels, looking elegant as always. Her hair was in a low ponytail.
“Thank you.” I said with a smile and rubbed my stomach, a reflex action I was getting more used to by the day. Her eyes dropped to my stomach and she gave me a knowing look.
“Already doing that, I see.” She pointed out.
“I can’t help it,” I said truthfully.
“Most mothers can’t. It’s a reflex action. It’s just your way of trying to acknowledge your baby’s presence or protect or sometimes even comfort your child, although you are a bit early.” She said, referring to the fact that I didn’t have a baby bump yet.
“Yeah, it would seem so.”
She took her seat and I followed after, sitting beside her on the long sofa.
“I didn’t realize you were coming, I would have had the maids prepare something you’d like,” I said, facing her.
“Nonsense, I’m full as it is and I wanted to surprise my daughter” She said with a wave of her hands

something in mè, To be somebody’s daughter again felt great. “I’m glad you are here. You look gorgeous as always.”
“Thank you, darling. I try my best every day.”
“You are welcome,” I told her.
“How’s the Alpha?” I asked, curious as to his whereabouts.
“He’s great, wanted me to send his regards to you, and that he’ll be visiting soon with a gift of his own.”
Alexander’s mother had found out about my pregnancy three days before Alexander had announced it to the entire pack and she had immediately rushed to the pack mansion to see me. She had been so joyous about the news that it brought tears to her eyes.
She had in turn sent me gifts the following day, some of which were pregnancy balls, muumuu gowns that she said I’d start to wear because of how comfortable they were, and a few books on expecting mothers.
She had given Alexander his own copy too and instructed him not to leave my side for any reason and teddy bears for me and the babies. She had also given me some pieces of jewelry that I was now officially obsessed with.
“I’ll be expecting him,” I said joyfully. The former Alpha and Luna were the perfect parents. They treated me like I was their own daughter and I couldn’t express myself in words.
They could by no means replace my parents but it was a comforting feeling to know I had people that cared about me and I could look up to them as I did my parents. My hands went straight to the locket Alexander had given me and I held onto it. Strange, but the action did give me a bit of comfort.

“Anyway, where’s my son?” She asked.
“Oh, he’s in a meeting right now.”
“Leaving you alone to fend for yourself at a time like this? Tsk, tsk, tsk.”
“No, it’s not like that at all. He’s been glued to my side all week. I had to beg him to attend his meetings.”
“Good, he ought to be by your side twenty–four seven” Alexander was just as overbearing as his mother with both of them needing to be in control at all times.
It wasn’t from a bad place but it didn’t stop it from being a little over the top for me. Lisa walked into the living room holding a tray containing a teapot, tea cup, and some toasts.
“Thank you, darling.” She said to Lisa as the girl poured and handed her a cup of tea. Lisa bowed in response and took her leave.
She took a sip of her tea and nodded approvingly. “Have you been drinking the tea I got you?” she asked.
“Every day, thanks to Alexander.”
“Seems like he’s doing everything right then.” She said with an eye roll.
“He is.” I chuckled. Not only was Alexander doing everything right, he was spoiling me rotten every chance he got.
“Well, I’m still going to yell at him that he needs to do more.”
I chuckled. The woman was a menace. Anyone not close to her wouldn’t be able to tell what a troublemaker she was.

“I think he’s going to take that up as a challenge. Believe me, if Alexander had his way, I wouldn’t leave our bed chambers.”
“Sounds like my son. Anyway, have you been receiving gifts? I know Alexander announced it to the pack yesterday.”
“Oh my goodness, yes I have, ma’am. All day yesterday and today!”
“Already? The pack must love you. I didn’t start getting gifts until the week after my husband announced that we were expecting.”
“No way! Xander told me you were gifted a house.”
“Three in total.”
My eyes widened at her revelations. “Three houses just for being pregnant?”
No wonder every girl wanted to become Luna, the perks were insane.
“Yeah, being the Luna sure has its perks. Oh to be young again.” She said with a longing look in her eyes.
“Mother.” Alexander strolled in with a small smile. “You are here.” He said, walking up to his mother and kissing her on both cheeks.
“Of course, since you are taking horrible care of my daughter!”
Alexander rolled his eyes. “I was gone for an hour.”
“A lot can happen in an hour, Alexander!” she quarried.
“Really, like what?” he asked.
“I got here an hour ago.”
Alexander rolled his eyes at his mother. He knew her too well to fall

for her tricks. I sat there, watching the exchange in amusement. Alexander and his mother were so alike in character that it was always a funny sight to see them bicker.
“Hey baby,” Alexander finally greeted me with a small peck on my lips.
“Hi,” I said in response. “How was the meeting?
He nodded in response. “How are you feeling?” he asked.
“I’m feeling good.”
He nodded before taking a seat opposite his mother and I. “So, how’s dad?”
“Excited for his grandchild or grandchildren on their way.”
“Grandchildren?” Alexander’s brows furrowed.
“Seems you haven’t considered that there could be more than one baby.” Alexander’s mom revealed.

That’s right, I had not thought of the possibility that I could have a twin, since Alexander was a twin. I shivered at the thought of Antonio.
He was not exactly a great model for twins, so the idea of having twins scared me. I glanced at Alexander and his lips were thinned in a straight line. He didn’t seem to approve either and I didn’t blame him.
“I don’t know if you know this, Isabella,” The former Luna turned to me. “But I come from a long line of twins. My mother was a twin, so was her mother and her mother’s mother. I think I was the only one that the gene skipped.” She explained.
“That’s incredible,” I said to her.

“I know right.” She smiled but I could see a bit of sadness in her smile. I gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.
Lisa walked into the living room with two gift baskets in hands. “Another one?”
I asked.
“Yes, Luna and there’s more outside,”
I was in our bedroom when Alexander walked in with a bouquet of roses, a huge box of cake, and balloons.
“Thank you,” I said as I collected the flowers from him. “But what’s the occasion?”
“Do I need a reason to spoil my beautiful Luna?” he asked.
“No. no you don’t,” I admitted with a smile. I stood up on my tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss but as I was about to pull away. He pulled me closer by the waist and captured my lips again.
“Mmm.” I moaned when his tongue snaked into my mouth to tangle with mine and out of reflex, I wrapped my hands around his neck, pulling him closer to me.
His familiar scent invaded my senses and his soft but firm lips molded with mine in soft languid strokes as he tasted my lips. My hands tangled in his hair as I pulled him closer to myself, trying to get more
of him.
He picked me up from the ground and I straddled him. I could already feel my nipples hardening at his touch. My back hit the mattress before I realized he had moved, his lips never breaking from mine.

“You are beautiful.” He murmured as he started to kiss down my neck. My hold tightened on him and I pulled at his shirt. I wanted to feel his skin under my palm.
“Take this off.” I pleaded and he obliged.
He sat up and discarded his shirt in one swift motion and was on me less than a second later kissing my body.
“Wait.” I pushed Alexander off as I started to feel nauseous.
“Are you okay?” he asked, panicked when he saw my face.
“I think I’m going to be sick and…” I retched up before I could finish. my sentence. Quickly, I climbed off the bed and ran to the bathroom to throw up.
I almost missed the toilet seat. Alexander was right behind me, he held my hair out of the way as I proceeded to puke some more.
