Alexander’s familiar firm lips in an instant became more urgent as he kissed me senseless. He tasted of tea and peppermint and lust.
His hands were in my hair in one instant and caressing my body in the next. I could feel his hunger in every slide of his lips against mine and in every groan. It was almost like he was trying to erase the thought of Rhea from my mind and it worked because all traces of the woman’s antics disappeared from my mind.

The back door of the car was already opened when I emerged from inside the mansion. Lisa, handed me my bag and a bottle of water as I stepped into the morning sun and I thanked her for her help.
She bowed in response.
The chauffeur bowed as I got closer to the car and I gave a small smile and a nod. I noticed a few men, some of them I recognized as Alexander’s men, get into the car behind me and in front of me.
“What’s going on?” I asked the chauffeur, pointing my chin to the men who had just entered the car behind me.
“Oh, the Alpha wanted us escort you to your destination Nothing serious.”
I rolled my eyes. Of course he did.
“Is that why half the guards in the pack are coming with me?” I asked dryly.
“Orders from the Alpha, Luna.”
“Right.” I said and he closed my car door and sat at front of the car.
Sometimes Alexander could be unnecessarily over the top overprotective. Who needs ten men to go to a meet and greet?
I chugged down the bottle of water Lisa handed me like I had just come back from the desert. It was 3pm in the afternoon and exhaustion could not begin to describe how tired I was. The meet and greet had been lovely. I had met a lot of important people and they had briefed me on some issues they were trying to tackle. I had taken notes of some of them. I’d have to talk to Alexander and Mason about it later but now all I wanted to do was eat and sleep.

“Thanks Lisa.” I said to the maid handing her the now empty glass.
“you are welcome Luna, you must be exhausted.” She observed.
“That, Lisa, is an understatement.” I replied with the little smile I could
muster.
“I’ll get you some food, you look famished.”
“Please.”
“Do you have any special requests?”
“uh, surprise me..” I told her, not ready to even work a signle neuron in my brain right now. Whatever she picked I’d eat.
“Alright. You go upstairs to rest, I’ll be up there with your food in no time”
I glanced over at the long staircase and shook my head. There was o way I was climbing that flight of stairs in the state I was in. Hungry and tired.
“I don’t think I can climb up those stairs in this state. I’ll just wait for you to finish in the kitchen.” The girl chuckled but nodded. She motioned for me to follow her and began to walk towards the kitchen.
I heard familiar sound of Caleb’s boisterous laughter before I entered the kitchen. He was with that Rhea bitch again who was now laughing at something he said. The familiarity between them made me irrationally angry and I scrunched up my nose at their obvious closeness. While I could lay claim on Alexander, I couldn’t exactly tell her to back off from Caleb or tell Caleb to stay away from her even though I actually wanted to. All that would do is prove Alexander right, that I was jealous.

My brows rose to the roof as I finally noticed Caleb’s outfit. He was wearing a back take top with blue jean and an Apron that read, Daddy‘ s secret kitchen. He was mixing batter in a bowl. The sight was comical not to mention unusual.
He noticed me and waved.
“That’s quite the fit you’ve got there Caleb “I quipped, eyeing his attire as I advanced into the kitchen.
“You like it?” he asked, stepping away from his bowl and giving me a
little twirl.
“Yes, fatherhood would look great on you.”
He rolled his eyes at me before waving me over.

Come sit, I’m making apple pie and sausage rolls.”
“uh, sure.” I said, walking up to the kitchen counter and setting my bag in one of the chairs.
I looked into the bowl and sure as the sun on a summer day he was indeed making pie. There were sliced apples in a plate on the counter top with flour, sugar and other baking ingredients.
“Didn’t know you baked.” I said as I glanced up to look at him.
He shrugged.
“There are a bunch of things you don’t know about me.”
I knew he didn’t mean anything by it but for some reason I felt a little hurt still. I bet Rhea knew more about him than I did and the thought depressed me.
