Hundred and Thirteen
My eyes fluttered open at the sound of shuffling around the room. “Xander?” I called out trying to blink the darkness away.
He looked over at me from where he stood with an apologetic look etched on his handsome face.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.” He whispered. “Go back to sleep, okay?” He said, staring at me with those intense eyes of his. Too late. I was wide awake now. I sat up and gave him a lazy smile as I stretched like a cat before him.
“It’s okay, I’m glad you’re are back. I’m sorry I slept off, I couldn’t keep my eyes open for the life of me. I know you’d have waited for me.”
“Don’t be silly My love. I know you had a hectic day.” He said as slipped into bed beside me, I curled up next to him, wrapping my hands around his rigid abs While his hands pulled me closer to him. This was perfect. I missed him this past few days. I welcomed the warmth that his body provided and got comfortable as I snuggled deeper into him. I sniffed him and welcomed his familiar scent.
“Yes, it was a pretty hectic day but it was an amazing one nonetheless.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes. I went to the pack market and can I just say that place is rowdy.‘
“It can be sometimes, especially on weekends. Did you get yourself anything?”
“Mostly for the orphanage, I said.”
I told Alexander about the orphanage I went to and he stared down at me

clinging to my every word as he stroked my hair In a soothing and steady motion.
“You should have seen the kids, they were so adorable. I wish I could have stolen one.”
“Isabelle, you realize that is a crime don’t you?” Amusement laced his voice as he spoke. He started to draw lazy circles around my arms absentmindedly and I relished the feel of his hands on me.
“I think it should be a crime for parents to die.”
The memories of my mother and father came to my mind and shooed the thoughts away. I didn’t want to think about anything but Alexander and me, us being here together in this moment.
“What?” Alexander asked, picking up on my sudden shift in my mood. He was always so good with recognizing even the most micro shift in emotions. I guess that’s what made him such a great Alpha.
“Nothing.” I said reassuringly. He gave me a skeptical look but didn’t push the topic anymore, which I was grateful for.
I continued to tell him about the people I had met in the orphanage and how nice they all were and he listened attentively.
I had felt a strong connection with the kids there too. It was incredibly sad that there were so many kids without parents out there but I took comfort in the knowledge that they were being well taken care of and I planned on making sure it continued.
My eyes began flutter close against my will as I felt myself being dragged back to sleep.
Alexander chuckled at my attempt to keep my eyes open. “it’s Okay my love. You can go to sleep now.” He cooed.

“but I’m not tired.” I protested as I let out a yawn. I frowned at my body’s decision to betray me right then and there.
“Yeah, that explains why you’re about to swallow me.” He retorted with an amused look on his face.
I groaned out, knowing he was right. I was in fact sleepy but I wanted to stay up to make up for the fact that I wasn’t awake when he I arrived but it seemed like my body had other plans.
He shook his head in amusement.
“No more protesting from you woman, go to sleep. You can tell me all about your adventures tomorrow. I promise I’ll be here.”
Reluctantly, I nodded and let out another yawn.
“Good girl.” He said and I purred in response. I liked the idea of being called a good girl by him.
He kissed the top of my head and that was the final straw that drew me back to sleep.
The loud buzzing sound of me phone jerked me awake and I groaned in displeasure at the interruption. As, I moved my hands around the bed side table trying to find my phone. “Where the hell is it?” I groaned out when I was unable to reach it. I rolled over and sat up grudgingly to look for the annoying device. I finally found the stray device at the edge of the table about to topple over. I plucked the phone from the table and pressed the answer button without checking the caller ID and winced at the loud squeal of a woman that came from the other end.
“My God Chloe, it’s 7am in the morning!” I snapped, irritated by being woken up from my sleep and being screamed at so early in the morning.

“Guess what?” she said over me.
“I don’t want to guess anything! It’s way to early to even be calling anyone. I was sleeping you know!”

“The baby kicked, just this morning, right now. Oh my God there it is again.” She squealed out again as my words got lost in her excited
scream.
The annoyance in me quickly died at her news and I couldn’t help but smile as she continued to speak.
“That’s amazing Chloe!” I said genuinely excited for her even though I still wanted to knock her head for interrupting my sleep.
“I know! I was in the bathroom popping…”
“Didn’t need to hear that part of the story but go on.” I said dryly.
“mind you, I was sleepy and I think I almost fell asleep on the toilet seat but I woke myself up in time and went back to bed. I was sitting on the bed eating chips when I felt his tiny leg kick my belly.
“Aww, that’s so cute! I’m so happy for you Chloe.”
“Thank you. I’m so excited. I’ve got to document this some how.” There was a palpable sound of joy in her voice that made my heart swell with pride. My best friend was really having a baby. How amazing was that? Just a few months ago things had looked completely different for the both of us. Even almost lost our friendship. I had to say I didn’t terribly mind how things had turned out. She was with a man she loved dearly and that also happened to be her mate and I was with my mate that happened to love me just as much as I loved him. Life wasn’t terrible that was for sure.
“You should totally document it. I can’t wait to welcome my God daughter or son to the world.”

“me too!” she squealed again and this time I didn’t mind the sound.

“Anyway, I’ve got to go. The maids just drew me a bath. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Alright, talk to you later too.” I placed my phone back on my bedside table as soon as she hung up and stretched out my tired limbs. There was no way I could go back to sleep now. I was way to awake to even try.
I dragged myself out of bed and realized for the first time that Alexander wasn’t in the room with me. I wonder where he could have gone so early. It was barely 7am.
Not thinking about it too much, I trudged down to the bathroom and turned on the shower and let the soothing liquid massage my tired bones. I finished from the shower and I got dressed in jeans and t–shirt and went downstairs to start my day.
The house was busy with maids running around to get started with breakfast when I got down stairs.
The maids bowed as they saw me. I still wasn’t used to the bowing thing. I wasn’t even used to being Luna period but I couldn’t say I hated it either.
I ran into a maid I recognized. Her name was Lisa, and she bowed.
“Good morning Luna. if you are looking for the Alpha he’s at the training ground.” She said with a coy smile
“Oh, Thank you Lisa.” I smiled down at her.
“Would you like me to pack you anything to go before breakfast is ready?”
“That won’t be necessary…”
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“Positive.” She nodded and walked away to finish her chores.
I walked towards the kitchen to get some water to drink before I left for the training ground.
Just as Lisa had said, Alexander was at the training center sparing with Blake. I watched fascinated as the two muscly men evade each other’s attacks with precision. Alexander was clearly winning plus I had a feeling he wasn’t using his full strength.
I stood admiring his taut body and how his muscles flexed with every move he made. He looked like a piece of art and I wanted to be up close and personal with that art. He must have smelled me because he turned around and gave me a smile. Blake almost landed a punch, taking his distraction as an opportunity but Alexander was fast. He evaded the attack with ease.
