Hundred and Twelve
Isabella’s POV
My eyes widened as I looked at the bearer of good news the evidence that I was pleasantly surprise showing on my face. I blinked at the maids in front of me, “Am I really allowed to do that?” I asked eagerly and they all nodded. I could see them all trying to hide their smiles but I could not be bothered with mine. I grinned so wide that it could not be forced back into my mouth in record time. I spun around as I raced back to my room yelling to the ladies through the air that I would be right back. I didn’t care that I looked crazy as I raced down the halls in that moment and people would probably wonder what was going on with the Luna. All I cared about in that moment was the news I just heard and going to find something to fitting to wear.
Although the maids all stayed back when I told them that I would be down in five minutes, I heard one pair of footsteps behind me but neither did I mind nor was I surprised. A girl always had to follow me and I didn‘ t doubt that it was Lisa. Since I already knew her before I became Luna and started to live in the pack house, it was easier to relate with her better than all the others.
“Calm down, Luna.” She told me as I pushed open the door to Alexander and I’s room. I just spun around with a wide grin on my face.
Lisa smiled, “Are you really that excited?” She asked and I widened my eyes at her.
“Are you kidding? Yes!” I said and she chuckled, “I thought all I had to do as Luna was do my makeup in the morning, dress nicely and show myself around the packhouse. I was beginning to wonder why they kept going on and on about ‘Luna duties‘ if that was all there was to it.” I said and Lisa laughed again.

“I think they just realized that you needed a little time.” She said and I bit my lip before nodding, knowing exactly what she meant. But before I could let it bring me down, I clapped my hands twice before going into the closet while Lisa followed after me. I pulled out a gown from the closet and held it up.
“What do you think about this?” I said holding up the sky blue dress. “Does it give ‘caring Luna‘ or nah.”
Lisa laughed, shaking her head, “Let’s try something else.” She said while I dug into the closet again, flicking through hangers.
So apparently, I have to go into the pack and talk to people. Show them that I cared about everything about them, Listen to them and their problems, both the surface ones and the really personal ones; anything they were willing to share actually. I was to find out what makes them happy and what makes them sad. I should find out if there was anything they lacked and needed and then I was to make sure to provide their needs, even if it was advice.
Lisa nodded with a smile and I smiled as well, taking a deep breath. “I’m actually beginning to feel a little nervous.”
“Don’t.” She warned.
“It’s my first Luna duty, I’m actually really excited.”
“Well tone it down a little or you’ll get really nervous as well.” She said and I laughed.
I finally decided on a dress and Lisa agreed to it as well. I got dressed and sat down at the vanity so she could help me with my hair. I didn’t bother with a lot of makeup and when I was done, I went downstairs where the driver was already waiting for me. I usually drove myself but today I was given a driver. It kinda made the whole thing began to look serious. I took a deep breath as I reminded myself that this was not my first job. I have been giving responsibility before and I was good at it. This was not going

to be any different, I told myself, toning down the fears before they even had the chance to surface.
I hopped into the car immediately and I was glad to see Alexander jog down the stairs as he came to the car and opened my door. He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tight. “I’m sorry for not telling you beforehand.” he said. “But I heard you’re really excited.”
“I am.” I grinned at him when I pulled back. It warmed my heart that he was thoughtful enough to worry about me and come and check up on me before I left.
“It’s not too soon?”
“I felt like the day would never come.” I said and he chuckled.
“Okay then, good luck today.” He said pecking my lips before releasing my hands. He closed the door and stood there waving until the car was out of sight.
We went to the orphanage first and although I was impressed by how well the kids were being taken care of, I felt a bit sad as I could relate to them. I was an orphan too except that I was older and stronger. I could not imagine how it was for them to lose their parents at such young ages and have no family to take them in and give them a home. I was glad that they seemed well taken care of though and they all seemed really happy.
The children also seemed very happy to see me for kids who had never seen me before then and it both shocked me and warmed my heart. I stayed with them a while, reading them stories and giving out loads of gifts and even sang the little ones to sleep. When it was time to leave, they almost refused to let me go and I honestly didn’t want to leave either. I just had other places to tick off my list for today and promised them that I would be back again.
I talked to their caretakers before I left. Thankfully things were going well at the facility and there were only a few things that were needed. I noted

those things down in the notebook that I carried around before hopping back into the car so that the driver could take me to the next location. The next location was the pack market and I found myself feeling quite nervous just before I got down. So nervous that Alexander had to link me, asking if everything was alright. I assured him that everything was alright and there was nothing to worry about.
The fact was that children were a lot more easier to face than grown women who once carried gossip about you and spread them around like wildfire. I did not hold a grudge over them, of course not. I was just worried that they still remembered all that and would hold it against me. I got down from the car nevertheless, the guard Alexander had come with me just behind me.
If the women were not happy with me, they did not show it. In fact they would have to be amazing actresses. They all greeted me politely and welcomed me excitedly and I was immediately put at ease. I went round conversing with a lot of them and asking them about their likes and dislikes about things pertaining to the market. I also asked if there were any personal problems and a couple of them divulged. I noted down everything I needed to and gave out a couple of gift s which they were all very excited about before I left.
I visited a whole lot of other places before the day was over including the hospital and the school and it was satisfying to see the excitement on everyone’s faces. I even had to pose for a couple of selfies and it was so much fun. I got hungry so I had them stop at a nice restaurant. I made sure the driver and the guard eat as well and when we were done we came back outside to meet the dark night sky. We drove back to the pack house and I was so tired when I got back that once I managed to make it up the stairs and into my room, I fell unto the bed, not bothering to take off my dress and shoes and in a couple of seconds, I was out.
I couldn’t help but think of how Alexander always tried to make sure he came back to me before bed but here I was sleeping off without even waiting for him but I honestly couldn’t help it and I hoped he would
