Chapter 9 Get out of My Bed!
Brenda looked at him.
“I’ve said the beds in other rooms in the house were all gone. Except for your room, where can I sleep?!”
“Do you want to share the bed with me? Why are you so shameless?”
Brenda was speechless. “You are shameless and lustful! Who wants to share the bed with you? Go out and stay in a hotel!”
Lemuel fell silent. If he hadn’t promised Tyrone, he would have stayed in a hotel!
Lemuel did not explain but continued,
“I’ll say it one last time. Get out of my bed!”
His voice was as cold as that of a messenger from hell.
Brenda frowned.
“Can you be a gentleman? If you don’t want to go to the hotel, just sleep on the sofa, and don’t pester me.”
Lemuel was so angry that he reached out his hand to pull the quilt on Brenda.
Brenda wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and immediately called for help.
“Help! Help! Rape! An old pervert is trying to rape a young lady…”
Lemuel was speechless.
Without his good upbringing reminding him not to hit women, he would have beat her up and kicked her off the bed!
“You are so shameless and unreasonable!”
After Lemuel had said this, he walked towards the sofa while holding back his anger.
On the wedding night, the two quarreled, and Lemuel slept on the sofa all night!
When Lemuel awoke the next day, his back and waist were sore and aching.
Brenda was still asleep, lying prone on the big soft bed. Her face was squeezed into a chubby ball by the pressure of the pillow, and her little mouth was crooked. She was sleeping soundly.
At a glance, she had a comfortable sleep.
Lemuel frowned deeply. Looking at Brenda, he was lost in thought, trying to think of a good way to get her out of his bed!
He knew it was not in a rush, so he withdrew his gaze. As usual,
he got up, worked out, showered, had breakfast, and went to work.
Lemuel was a typical workaholic, spending almost every day in the office throughout the year.
Having lived for twenty–seven years, he had never had any interest in romance or love. His focus had always been on his work.
Lemuel was busy until ten o’clock in the morning. He had just given notice of an emergency meeting later when he suddenly received a call from Normand Police Station.
Not knowing who Lemuel was, the cop got straight to the point.
“Hey, I’m from Normand PD. Something happened to your wife. Get over here.”
Without skipping a beat, Lemuel replied, “You got the wrong guy. I ain’t got no wife!”
He hung up, but the cop called back right away.
“Ain’t you Brenda Cohen’s husband? She gave me your number, said you’re her hubby.”
Lemuel stayed quiet. Hearing Brenda’s name, it finally clicked that he was married to her.
“What’s the deal with her?”
“She got into a brawl with some folks. You better haul over here, shit’s serious.”
Lemuel was left speechless.
What kind of woman did he end up marrying?
Did she make some kind of deal with the devil and just couldn’t stop causing him trouble?!
Lemuel didn’t head to the police station to pick her up until evening.
He didn’t intend to pick her up at first, but he still came because he thought of the agreement with Tyrone that he could not sleep with Brenda in a separate room.
But he deliberately delayed until evening to frighten Brenda.
Then he could make a deal with her with ease.
As soon as Lemuel stepped into the police station, he spotted Brenda sitting in a corner. She had her hair up in a ponytail, rocking light gray pants and a hoodie, hands tucked in her pockets. When she saw him, she pouted and scowled, clearly unhappy.
Lemuel figured she was mad at him for being late, but he brushed it off and headed straight to the police officer. He disclosed his connection to Brenda, and the officer handling the case immediately spoke up.
“Your wife is something else. She took on six people all by
herself and left them seriously messed up! They’re still in the hospital, two with broken arms, two with broken legs, and the other two can’t perform… that… anymore, if you know what I mean.”
Lemuel was taken aback. He glanced at Brenda with disbelief, questioning.
“Are you sure it was her?”
