Chapter 10 Brenda Was Not Simple!
“Yes, I am sure. Here is the surveillance footage. Take a look.”
Lemuel watched the footage patiently.
Surveillance footage captured that Brenda beat the six men quickly and accurately. In less than two minutes, all of them were beaten!
Lemuel looked at Brenda again…
To be honest, he was shocked.
She was young, thin, and petite. Even her face was not even as big as his palm. However, her martial skills were so superb?!
Even if it were Marvin, he would not have got rid of the six men so quickly!
Brenda was not simple!
The police officer responsible for the case was a man, and he didn’t know Lemuel. Looking at Lemuel with some sympathy, he reminded Lemuel in a low voice,
“Don’t provoke her when you are at home. Currently, many men also suffer from domestic violence.”
Lemuel was speechless.
The policeman continued,
“She said that these six men wanted to harm her, but the scenes of harming her were not captured, so there is no way to prove whether she beat others intentionally or in self–defense.”
Lemuel looked away. “Let me talk to her alone.”
The policeman wanted to refuse. However, overwhelmed by the frightening aura that emanated from Lemuel’s bones, he eventually agreed.
As soon as the policeman left, Lemuel immediately asked,
“Who did you learn martial arts from?”
Brenda said in a very aggressive tone, “Does it have anything to do with you?”
Lemuel said, “It has nothing to do with me, so I’m leaving. You can find a way to leave the police station yourself.”
Lemuel pretended to leave, and Brenda hurriedly stopped him.
If she had been able to leave, why would she have asked him to
come?
Brenda said unhappily, “My grandfather taught me.”
Lemuel was deeply skeptical. “Does your grandfather know martial arts?”
When he investigated Brenda before, he also investigated
Merlin. The information only mentioned that he had some
medical skills but didn’t indicate anything about his martial arts
abilities.
Brenda was probably lying.
Brenda asked, “Can’t my grandfather know martial arts? Are you looking down on him?!”
Lemuel squinted his long and narrow eyes and stared at Brenda for a while. Then he stopped asking.
It really had nothing to do with him from whom she had learned her martial arts. After all, she was not related to him in any way. Why bother to be curious about her affairs?
It was a waste of time.
Lemuel got to the point.
“The policeman said that there was no evidence to prove that you were acting in self–defense. The men in the hospital also insisted that they did not intend to harm you. If I don’t help you, you may go to jail.”
Brenda retorted. “They attacked me first!”
“Do you have any evidence?”
Lemuel’s question rendered Brenda helpless. She had no
evidence.
Brenda could tell that there was an underlying meaning in Lemuel’s words. Frowning, she asked gloomily,
“What on earth do you want?”
Lemuel said, “If you want me to help you, it’s not impossible. From tonight on, you will sleep on the sofa, and I will sleep on the bed.”
Brenda flew into a rage. “Do you want to take advantage of my difficulties?!”
Looking at her kindly, Lemuel nodded firmly.
At the sight of his annoying expression, Brenda gritted her teeth with hatred.
“Are you a man? Why are you not gentlemanly at all?!”
Lemuel raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at her, remaining silent.
Back then, Tyrone asked him to marry Brenda, but Lemuel refused. Then Tyrone threatened him by every possible means. In the end, Lemuel had no choice but to compromise and marry Brenda, which would last for two years.
Originally, Lemuel wanted to live with her for two years of mutual respect, but she annoyed him every day!
He was not a doormat. Since she annoyed him, how could he still tolerate her?
“Are you willing to or not?” Lemuel asked.
Brenda was furious.
But at present, there seemed to be no better way than compromise!
Brenda said, “Let’s make a compromise. We each take turns sleeping on the bed for one night. If you disagree, I will call Grandpa directly.”
