Chapter 3 Her Mysterious Husband
Warren looked back, his expression elusive. “You don’t want to?”
Isabelle bit her lips. She barely knew Warren. She was knocked up in such an embarrassing situation…
Warren walked over and pinched Isabelle’s jaw. What a pretty face! It was tempting and fresh. Isabelle was just 23 years old. Warren found her red lips soft and attractive. Gazing at such a face, Warren said with a hoarse voice, “I am more than willing to do it.”
Isabelle didn’t follow him.
Warren went on saying with a playful smile, “But I respect lives. Give birth to the baby.”
That was irresistible. Isabelle understood what he meant by doing it immediately. She blushed.
Warren walked over to the door.
Before he could turn the knob, a woman’s voice came through. “Stay there or come out and see me hang myself!”
Then the door was locked from the outside.
Isabelle was confused. “Who is that?”
“Your mother–in–law.”
Warren turned back with a deadpan face. He pulled her to the bedside and asked, “Do you know how to pretend?”

“Pretend that we are spending the night as a newly wedded couple.”
Isabelle looked into his tempting dark eyes and immediately figured out what he meant. Her face blushed even more. “But I don’t know
how…”
Warren frowned and pressed her against the bed. He then ripped out
her belt.
“What are you doing?” Isabelle screamed in panic.
“Now you know how to pretend?” Warren raised his eyebrows.
Outside the door. Tara Christopher was sniggering. “Thankfully, my boy finally knows something.”

Isabelle was pressed by Warren in an awkward gesture. Her shoulders were revealed and her fair skin was exposed to Warren. At a single glance. Warren found himself turned on.
The two were close to each other. Isabelle felt Warren’s muscles and her ears felt burned. She tried to keep him off and thus screamed loud.
“Watch out, you nasty boy! Your wife’s pregnant!”
Warren looked down at Isabelle. “Was that revenge?”
Isabelle blinked and then asked, “Was that enough?”
Warren smiled subtly. He didn’t push Isabelle anymore. Instead, he stood up and let go of her.

Isabelle curled up into a ball. She glanced at the door and asked nervously, “Are we going to sleep together tonight?”

“Would you like that?” Warren took up a magazine and took a glance at Isabelle.

Warren then spoke with a snort. “Do you think I will do anything to a pregnant little woman?”
His tone was both sarcastic and serious. He called her a pregnant little

Isabelle was annoyed. Was he that old? She gazed at his half–face mask, wondering how he looked. Why was he wearing a mask? Was it because he was too ugly or did he have a scar on his face?
Seeing that Warren didn’t move, Isabelle finally tied up her clothes and crawled into her bed. Warren then turned off the light.
Isabelle asked tentatively, “Sir, you’ve known everything about me now. May I ask how old you are and what is your surname?”
She received no reply.
Warren was distant and elusive, difficult to get along with. Besides, he had a mysteriously elegant and noble aura, which could only be nourished in a well–off family.

The next morning, Isabelle was greeted by Tara’s loving smile.
“Bella, you two look like a perfect match to me. Have more milk, please! Oh, my dear little grandchild, were you hurt by Daddy last night? Nanny will punch your daddy!”

Isabelle almost chocked at what Tara said. She was such a loving old lady! If it weren’t for her pale face, she didn’t look like a person who only had one year to live.
Isabelle glanced over and saw Warren sitting at the dining table. He was dressed in a white shirt and a pair of black trousers. He was still wearing that silver mask, revealing his high nose and thin lips.
He looked distant as he always did. He seemed accustomed to the way
Tara behaved.
No one had a problem with Warren wearing the mask.
That only made Isabelle even more confused. Who on earth was he? What an enigma!
Maggie took a white towel from upstairs. She asked Tara quietly, “Madam, the towel is clean. Shall I keep it?”
Isabelle glanced at that, not knowing what it was.
Seeing Isabelle’s curious face, Tara explained with a smile, “It was a wedding towel. The servants didn’t know what had happened between you two. You didn’t need this, did you?”

“That was nasty!” Warren sounded offended.
Warren walked over for the jam. He stopped at the table and raised his eyebrow. “She was a virgin back then. I knew it.”
“Am I right?” Warren moved close to Isabelle, asking her with his hands in his pockets as if he were not sure.
Isabelle blushed from cheeks to ears. What did he expect her to say?
Yet Warren didn’t seem to let her go. His breath went on falling on her
skin.
Isabelle was afraid that Warren might go even further. Thus, she hurried to spoon feed him some milk and then said, “Keep quiet and eat your breakfast!”
“Ms. Spencer… Mr. L is sort of a neat freak!” Maggie was frighted by what Isabelle had done.
Yet Warren didn’t reject it. He stared at Isabelle and then swallowed that spoon of milk. He then walked back with his lips lifted.
The calmer Warren was, the more Isabelle blushed. She stared at the spoon that touched Warren’s mouth, not sure whether to take it up or
not.
Tara hurried to put that spoon into her hand. “Bella, go on with your breakfast. That was sort of a kiss, wasn’t that? Oops, what’s wrong with your palm?”
Tara lifted Isabelle’s right hand and checked her wound.

After breakfast, Isabelle and Warren were pushed out of the house by Tara. “Get married now! Go!”
Warren’s Bentley was awaiting. Warren opened the door for Isabelle and she then sat in.
Warren’s assistant was in the passenger’s seat in the front. He remained silent after handing a laptop to Warren.
Isabelle wanted to peek at his laptop to know more about Warren, but she didn’t dare.
They soon arrived at the city hall.
The city hall was not crowded, yet Isabelle recognized two familiar figures once she got out of the car.
