Chapter 24 Julia’s Scheme (1)
Isabelle faced the spiteful remarks calmly.
The smile never dropped from her face. When the taunting ceased, Isabelle spoke coldly, “Naughty? If memories serve, I’m not the one who was a porn star before.”
Julia froze.
The rich women made the connection. The hall quieted down completely
Julia controlled her rage and said calmly, “Bella, those are rumors. It’s proven to be fake news…”
“Really? But I heard that Dad was so mad that he didn’t talk to you for days. What’s the truth?”
Isabelle smiled and walked away.
The other women stood there awkwardly and scattered. Tonya watched them leave and stomped her foot. “Mom, she humiliated you! We can’t let it go. Look how smug she is!”
Julia’s gaze was filled with venom. “Rest assured. After tonight, she won’t be so high and mighty anymore!”

The auction started at 9 p.m. That was two hours later. Isabelle bustled in the hall while Julia and Tonya were nowhere to be found.

naïve enough to believe that she could get away from insulting those two women.
Isabelle came to the kitchen and smelled herbs. She frowned as she noticed the boiling kettle. Isabelle sniffed and recognized that some of the herbs were for infertility. She blinked and remembered that Tonya had faked a miscarriage. Her lips curled into a sneer.
“Whom is this herbal tea for? Is someone ill?” Isabelle asked the maid
on purpose.
The maid stopped treating Isabelle as her master long ago. She smiled. but didn’t answer Isabelle.
Isabelle left the kitchen and thought, “Looks like Tonya can’t carry a baby to term. She’s desperate and is willing to try anything.”
Suddenly, a bark came from outside. A wail followed.
Julia’s high–pitch voice was loud enough to carry inside. “Bella, your dogs bit someone!”
Isabelle frowned and paused for a second before hurrying out of the house.
Julia ordered the servants to restrain Isabelle’s two dogs. She
approached Isabelle and said gently, “They’ve been acting up lately. I don’t know why. They almost bit a child just now. Bella, you’re their owner. You’ll be held responsible if they harm anyone. I’ll move them somewhere else. Do you agree?”
Isabelle looked at the crying little girl carefully and turned to her dogs. They stared back at Isabelle angrily. Isabelle could tell that they didn’t do it.
Her dogs were always smart. Isabelle’s eyes darkened. But the girl was in shock. She had to agree. “Where are you moving them?”

“I asked the servant to take them to the pool house in the back.” Julia stared at her.
Isabelle was worried that the servants would hurt the dogs and said, “I’ll come with them.”
Julia nodded. After Isabelle left her sight, Julia smiled and thought, “The little bitch took the bait.”
When Isabelle arrived at the pool house, she crouched down and said to her dogs. “I’m taking you out of here tonight.”
As Isabelle tried to get up, a servant suddenly carried Isabelle on his shoulder and took Isabelle and her dogs down to the basement before locking them up.
“What are you doing?” Isabelle was shocked. Her eyes were filled with
ice.
A bulky servant took out a contract and tossed it in front of Isabelle “I’m sorry, Ms. Isabelle. Mrs. Spencer asked you to sign this assignment. Ms. Tonya needs more dowry.”
It was the assignment of the resort.
Isabelle kept a stony face. The resort belonged to her grandpa. Isabelle knew that even though the Spencers took over some of the properties, they wouldn’t rightfully own them unless Isabelle signed the
assignments.
The servant grabbed Isabelle’s hand and forced her to sign. Then they left and locked the door.
Isabelle and her dogs were trapped in the basement.
Isabelle looked out from the small window. The moon was bright, yet Isabelle felt so cold. Isabelle had a bad feeling about this. She thought,

“Why did Julia lock me up if she only needed me to sign the assignment? And why did she lock me up with my dogs? So many strange things happened tonight.” Isabelle thought hard about why Julia dragged her dogs into this.
Isabelle’s heart was beating rapidly. It dropped when Isabelle realized that Julia wanted more.
What else did Julia want?
Isabelle turned to her dogs. They were looking back at her with an innocent look. Isabelle was lost in her thoughts…
It was almost eight. The auction was starting.
Isabelle balled her hands into fists and started hyperventilating. The ominous feeling was getting stronger and stronger…..
Suddenly, the door opened with a bang.
Two servants rushed in and forcefully dragged the dogs out.
“What are you doing? What do you want to do to them?” Isabelle got up and tried to stop the servants.
“Ms. Isabelle, you’re so pretty. After tonight, maybe I have a chance to have you too.” A servant caressed Isabelle’s face lewdly.
The other servant said, “Don’t talk too much. Don’t you remember that she’s crazy? She may bite you.”
Soon, the servants left with the dogs.
Isabelle thought, “What are they doing? Are they going to kill my dogs? What is Julia up to?”
Isabelle paced the basement as she thought about the strange things

that night. Suddenly, her eyes widened. The servant’s word enlightened Isabelle. They called her crazy.
Isabelle figured out Julia’s scheme. She grasped and pressed hard on her eyes to hold her tears back.
Another vicious scheme against Isabelle. Isabelle was shocked by Julia’s evilness. Her lips curled into a cruel smile and Isabelle thought, “Luckily, I figured it out in time.”
Isabelle immediately took out her phone to call Glenda.
It took Glenda a lot of effort to get into the Spencer’s house. As soon as she entered the hall, Isabelle’s call came.
Glenda ran to the back of the house and found Isabelle. She said furiously, “How dare they trap you…”
“Lower your voice, Glenda.” Isabelle wore a solemn look and said harshly in a low voice, “Listen. You need to do something for me now.”
Glenda noticed the dangerous gleam in Isabelle’s eyes. Isabelle was her usual self. Glenda leaned in and Isabelle whispered. “There is a pot of herbal tea in the kitchen. Take my medical kit…”
Glenda’s face changed rapidly as she listened to Isabelle. After getting Isabelle out of the basement, Glenda said with gritted teeth, “Those two are vicious. Bella, you have to teach them a lesson.”
“I know.” Isabelle’s gaze was anxious as she stared into the dark night. Julia was going to kill Isabelle’s dogs. Isabelle had to save them, but she didn’t know where they were.
At that moment, someone came over and said humbly, “Ms. Spencer, do you need help?”

Isabelle turned sharply. The newcomer was her driver these days. What a pleasant surprise. Isabelle asked, “Did L send you?”
“Sir asked me to escort you. He said that you were smart and normally wouldn’t need my help. But I can offer it if I deem the situation is called for.”
Isabelle thought, “He’s cold and thoughtful at the same time.” Ignoring the strange feeling in her heart, Isabelle thought she was lucky that the driver had come over. Isabelle told the driver some directions lowly and started looking for the dogs with him.
Isabelle didn’t relax a little until the driver rescued the dogs. She let out a long sigh.
However, Isabelle hadn’t completely felt at ease. A dark flicker showed in her bright eyes. Isabelle watched the bustling hall with narrowed eyes and thought, “Glenda should be ready.” Isabelle gave the driver a look and the driver left to finish Isabelle’s plan.
Isabelle put her hands together, making them less cold. Isabelle beamed and thought, “Julia must be eager to see the result of her deliberate calculation.”
Julia’s scheme was perfect. And Isabelle was about to let Julia and Tonya feel it too.

In the hall, Julia looked every bit of an elegant hostess. She suddenly spoke to the rich women surrounding her, “Have you heard the barking of dogs?”
The women paused and listened.
Then they heard dog barks. It sounded like the dog was in pain.

“What’s going on?”
Julia glanced at the housekeeper who had just hurried into the house. The housekeeper shouted nervously, “Mr. and Mrs. Spencer, bad news. Ms. Isabelle…”
“What’s wrong with Isabelle?” Julia sprang to her feet and asked worriedly.
“Ms. Isabelle… The dogs… Please come with me!”
The housekeeper’s vague words and terrified look intrigued the guests. Julia exchanged a look with George and both started running toward the backyard. The guests all followed them.
Julia glanced at Becky as she ran. Becky had blended in the crowd.
Becky got the sign and immediately shouted. “Is Isabelle having a manic episode again?”
“So, she’s really a maniac?” a lady asked.
“She was kidnapped and has been fooling around with men. There must be something wrong with her…”
The whispers became louder as the women kept on discussing. They were all talking about Isabelle with contempt.
Julia hid her face from the crowd and smirked.
Julia thought, “Isabelle, your good days are over!”
