Isabelle had forgotten she was talking to Warren and accidentally sent the picture to him! Panicking, she immediately zoomed in on the picture and realized how revealing and flimsy the dress was. Isabelle cursed Glenda in her mind. The upper part of the dress had a cut–out design, and to make matters worse, the zipper was stuck, drawing attention to Isabelle’s slim waist and fair skin.
Isabelle tried to unsend it, but it was too late. Warren sent another text: “Ms. Spencer, are you seducing me? Or are you showing off?”
Isabelle blushed.
Warren had a husky voice. Isabelle could imagine how sexy he would sound if he said those words instead of typing.
With a flushed face, Isabelle immediately replied: “I sent it to the wrong person. It wasn’t meant for you!”
“Who was the person this picture was meant for? Did you want to seduce another man?” Warren’s questions were serious.
Isabelle sent Warren the screenshot of Glenda and her conversation with trembling hands. Glenda was still busy picking out different kinds of cut–out clothes for Isabelle outside. “What do you think, Bella? I wonder which one your husband will like.”
Isabelle texted: “See? She asked me to try it out!”
Warren replied to Glenda’s question. “All of them look nice. Tell Glenda that I look forward to seeing you try them all on for me.”

didn’t feel cheesy. He acts mature. No woman can resist his charm.”
Isabelle was still blushing and thought she wouldn’t let Warren see her in any of those clothes.
Isabelle changed the subject. “L, I used your card to pay for the
clothes. Don’t worry. I’ll return them now. Thank you for not
suspending the card earlier.”
Warren was sharp. “I assumed you did it to prove someone wrong, right?”
Isabelle was taken aback. She thought to herself, “He’s really sharp. This man possesses both a high IQ and an impressive EQ.”
Warren’s reply was laid–back. “Don’t return them. It’s just pocket money. Spend it all you want.”
As Isabelle pondered, she couldn’t help but wonder, “A few million is just pocket money for him? His family must be incredibly wealthy. I wonder what he does for a living.” While lost in her thoughts, a message popped up from Warren, “I’m leaving on a business trip tonight.”
“OK.”
“That’s it?”
Isabelle thought, “What else does he expect me to say?” She contemplated for a minute and added: “Have a nice trip.”
Warren scoffed at Isabelle’s reply. He rubbed the spot between his brows and texted a domineering order: “Remember your responsibility. Be good and keep the baby safe!”
Isabelle could see the warning in Warren’s words. But the text had a kind of intimacy as if Warren had whispered lowly in Isabelle’s ears.

Isabelle touched her warm cheeks and thought, “Be good? No way.”
Isabelle thought it was nice that Warren was away. She had more leisure to do her own things.
Isabelle was busy, though Warren was away.
Besides the mealtime with Tara, Isabelle locked herself in her room upstairs and spent all her time designing.
One day, Julia called. Her tone was friendly. “Bella, what are you up to these days?
“We’re having a charity ball in our house tomorrow. Mrs. Hodge will announce Tonya and Brandon’s engagement then. George said that you have to be here as Tonya’s sister. Tonya wants your blessing too. I’m sending you an invitation. Is that OK?”
Julia talked to Isabelle as if nothing had happened. Isabelle was impressed by Julia’s cheekiness.
Tonya had stolen Brandon, who was Isabelle’s fiancé. How dare Tonya ask for Isabelle’s blessing?
Isabelle knew why George insisted that she had to go to the ball. There would be many rich men. George wouldn’t want people to think he treated Isabelle poorly.
Isabelle remembered what happened to her when she accepted George’s requirement.
Isabelle’s heart was as cold as stone. She scoffed, “I’m not going. I learned my lesson last time. No.”
Julia continued speaking as if she didn’t hear Isabelle’s rejection.

“Bella, you can’t hold grudges against your dad. Be a good girl. Although you threw your future away, George and I never gave up on you. We invited you because we wanted you to be friends with more good people…”
Isabelle had enough and decided to hang up. Before she could do it, Glenda sent her a Line message. “The painting your competitor likes is on the catalog of the Spencer family’s charity ball. Are you going?”
Isabelle’s lips pressed into a thin line.
Isabelle cut Julia off curtly, “Fine, I’ll be there! I hope you won’t regret it.”
She didn’t give Julia a chance to reply and hung up directly.
The charity ball was likely a trap. But Isabelle had to go for the painting.
The next afternoon, Glenda came over with a card. Isabelle was broke. She had to depend on Glenda if she wanted to buy the painting.
“Glenda, thank you so much.”
Glenda said, “We’re best friends! They put you in a dangerous situation last time. I have to come with you this time. Anyway, Mr. Levine may be there too. He’s my dream man. I can’t miss the chance to see him.”
Isabelle didn’t know what to say. “Silly girl.”
However, Glenda was stopped by the guards when they arrived at the Spencer’s house.
Glenda gave Isabelle a look to assure her.

Isabelle knew that Glenda would find her way into the ball and went inside unhurriedly. The Spencer’s house was filled with people.
Isabelle stood and observed the crowd. Her gaze was icy. When she noticed that Tonya and Brandon were happily embracing each other on the second floor, Isabelle clenched her fists. They were standing in front of their room. A room Isabelle designed for Brandon and herself. Yet, it was stolen.
Isabelle looked at the swimming pool, the lake, and the forest in the back…
Those were all her grandpa’s properties. The Spencer family only owned little land. And George wasn’t a competent businessman. The Spencer Group was on the verge of going bankrupt. It was only better because Isabelle started helping out in the company.
But look at what they did to repay Isabelle, her mom, and her grandpa.
“Isabelle, you’re here!” Tonya came over with a group of rich girls.
The news of Tonya’s marriage to Brandon had spread wild. The Hodge family was one of the four big families. The rich girls all wanted to befriend Tonya.
One woman sneered at Isabelle, “Tonya, how does she have the face to show up here?”
“Her reputation is ruined. Look at her cheap dress. Becky told me that she could only afford knock–off clothes these days.”
“She was born this way. Tonya, it’s a good thing that Brandon sees through her skanky nature. Tonya, you’re the girl Brandon should be with.”
Tonya had a flicker of contempt in her eyes, but she said kindly,
“Please don’t say that. Isabelle’s life is miserable now. I invite her over

“Tonya, you’re right.”
Julia approached them with a group of ladies and gently grabbed Isabelle’s hand. “Bella is a good girl,” she said. “She may act out occasionally because she wants to be a bit naughty, but please be kind
to her.”
“I refuse! Even the sight of her will hurt my eyes.” One lady said with disdain.
“I won’t allow my girl to be friends with Isabelle. Mrs. Spencer, please understand.” another lady said scornfully.
Tonya and Julia looked at Isabelle with pity in their eyes.
All the guests taunted Isabelle more brazenly.
