She surveyed her surroundings frantically, and it didn’t take long before she saw a striking, distinguished man approaching her. The latter was dressed in a black and white pinstripe suit, his face handsome and stoic, yet one could still catch hints of a rebellious streak in his eyes. Stunned by the man’s good looks, a smitten Marianne stood rooted to her spot and looked on in utter disbelief. However, it was also then that Hunter suddenly grabbed her wrist from behind and forcibly pulled her into his embrace. “You’re not going anywhere, Marianne! You promised to keep me company last night! Why? Do you seriously think your family has a hundred million to pay me back?” Try as she might, Marianne couldn’t escape the man’s grasp. “Mr. Jenner, I’ve already said this has nothing to do with me. Ruthanne was the one who did that. Once again, Janice ran to her daughter’s rescue. “Sir, Marianne had a high fever when she was a kid, so there are many things she has completely forgotten.” Theodoric raised his brows and bore his eyes into Marianne. She’s forgotten the incident, huh? That’s fine. All that matters is that I still remember her. With that, Theodoric inched closer to Marianne.
