After completing Edward’s physical examination, Freya heard the sound of the door opening behind her. She narrowed her eyes.
Without turning around, she listened as the footsteps gradually approached her from behind.
“How is his condition today?” Jamie asked in a low voice.
Freya was calm as she replied, “Not good, but I have been researching, and there may be a new treatment plan.”
Jamie frowned. “What treatment?”
“If I tell you, you may not understand, but as long as you know that this plan is more feasible, it will be enough.”
Freya turned around to stare at Jamie with a serious expression. “I need a medical device, but it should be difficult for you to obtain.”

Freya mentioned the name and continued, “It is a newly researched medical device from Damford. It is very sophisticated, but it’s very expensive, and ordinary people have no way to purchase it.”

Silence fell. Moments later, Jamie suddenly smiled.
“Since you say the machine can help with Edward’s condition, I will transport it here no matter the cost. However, is this machine really that useful, or are you just trying to escape?”
Freya sneered. “Are you always so cautious when it comes to anything related to Caltun? You’re a wary man, so it would be your men retrieving it anyway. How am I involved? I have already said that if we can’t get it, we can always look for another treatment plan.”

Her nails bit into the palm of her hand.
Jamie nodded. “Rest assured, Miss Kaufmann. The machine you requested will be delivered within three days. However, if you are deceiving me, I will make you regret it.”
“What kind of regret are you talking about? Would you even kill me?” Freya deliberately retorted.
Suddenly, Jamie clamped down hard on her wrist.
With a frosty and sinister look on his face, Jamie said, “Of course, I won’t kill you. However, there are many things in this world that can make people suffer more than death. Don’t you agree?”
Jamie’s hand wrapped around her waist, causing Freya’s whole body to stiffen as a wave of disgust surged through her.
She raised her hand to slap him, but her wrist was weak and lacked strength, and she was immediately captured by Jamie.
“I know you may be brave, Freya, but the other three
may not.”
Jamie lowered his gaze and reached out to grab Freya’s collar. He looked at her palm face for a moment and let out a malicious chuckle before letting go of her.
“If I were to have my way with you here and send the recording to those in Caltun and Vroria, would your lover Radley be furious? What about your grandmother? I hear her heart isn’t in the best condition.”
Freya’s face turned pale as she clenched her jaw. “Jamie, you truly disgust me!”
“Thank you for the compliment.” Jamie casually threw her aside as if nothing had happened. “Freya, insults like that can’t hurt me. If you deceive me, I will make you and those three people regret it.”
Freya stumbled back a few steps before steadying herself by holding onto the end of the bed.
The feeling of disgust in her heart had not yet subsided when she heard the sound of the door closing with a bang.
