Chapter 393 Despair of Three People
Lucius’ gaze turned cold as he stared at the door in front of him. “It seems that if we can’t cure this patient we’ll be trapped here indefinitely, right?”
Maddox slumped down once again. He gritted his teeth and pounded the table fiercely, but the pain. forced him to retract his hand.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to think like this, but I’m truly terrified. This task is impossible! This person will surely kill us!”
Maddox fell into despair, and he was no longer looking at the medical records. He seemed like an empty shell, staggering over to the sofa and sitting down. He appeared to have completely lost hope.
Freya looked at Russell and Lucius. “Can the two of you hold on?”
Russell nodded. “No matter what, I need to give it a try, even if it’s a miracle. Otherwise, how can we escape from here?”
Lucius leaned closer to Freya and lowered his voice. “Miss Kaufmann, I believe the chances of us curing this patient are definitely lower than the chances of us successfully escaping.”
Freya nodded. “Indeed, but I still want to give it a try.”
Even if the person lying in front of them wasn’t Edward, but any other patient, they should have parental hearts as doctors.
“If we can save someone, it would be a good thing. Freya looked at Lucius. “If we can truly save someone with advanced stomach cancer, wouldn’t it be another medical breakthrough? More importantly, the danger of escaping is too great. Until the very last moment, I believe we should give it a try.”
Lucius nodded heavily.

“Write it down. After researching all afternoon, you should have figured out what medical equipment we need, right?”

Freya walked over and wrote down all the necessary medical instruments: “To treat Edward’s illness, we need a lot of medical equipment, and each one is valuable. My suggestion is to transfer Edward to the hospital.”
Jamie neither agreed nor disagreed and when she finished writing, he took the paper away directly. “Sending Edward to the hospital is not as reassuring as bringing the hospital here. That way, I can be at

Freya frowned as she did not understand what he meant.
He looked at the list of equipment Freya wrote on the paper. “You know what we do, and there are many of the medical equipment here that I haven’t even heard of, but hospitals should generally have them, right?”
As he spoke, his eyes narrowed slightly while exuding a cold and chilling aura.
Freya had a sense of foreboding in her heart. “I can indicate where to purchase these instruments and what procedures and qualifications are needed!”
Jamie said indifferently. “There’s no need. That would be too much trouble and a waste of time.”
Freya immediately became nervous. “Jamie, you’re not planning to steal from the hospital, are you?”
He smiled faintly without saying a word. Then, he turned and left.
She hurriedly caught up with him. Jamie, I absolutely disagree with you to steal or rob! If you want me to help you, it’s best to listen to me!”
A threatening aura filled the air.
Jamie’s lips curled into a mocking smile as he turned to Freya. “Miss Kaufmann, do you know that the thing I hate the most in my life is being threatened by others? If you don’t listen to me, I might as well choose one of those three people to kill then. When I saw you discussing earlier, Maddox didn’t participate at all. It’s meaningless for someone like him to live.”
Freya looked at the cold gaze in front of her. His tall figure approached and his tone was seemingly joking. but there was a hidden intent to kill.
He was serious.
Freya’s scalp tingled. She hadn’t seen any surveillance cameras around when she was in the office. It seemed that hidden cameras were installed, and Jamie had been monitoring them all along!
“No. You absolutely cannot harm Maddox!” Freya gritted her teeth.
Upon seeing the indifferent gaze of the man in front of her, she could only soften her attitude.
“Please refrain from hurting the innocent.”
Jamie stared at Freya intently, and after a few seconds, he turned and said, “Don’t worry. I understand.”
This could be considered a promise!
Freya was puzzled.
The next morning, Freya took the three of them to Edward’s room.

The three of them conducted a simple examination on Edward, but since the medical equipment had not arrived yet, they couldn’t conduct a thorough study with X-rays.
Russell’s face was serious. “For now, we can only prescribe some targeted drugs to suppress the cancer cells. The date on the film I saw yesterday was many days ago, and I don’t know if the cancer cells have spread recently—”
Freya’s heart felt heavy.
Indeed, as Russell said, what she was most worried about now was whether the cancer cells in Edward’s body had spread to the bones or nearby organs. If that was the case, there would be no hope left!
After the three of them finished examining Edward’s condition, they went to have breakfast.
Maddox’s hand holding the utensils was trembling. He had always been timid and cherished his life, and today, he didn’t say a word to Freya throughout the whole process.
Freya knew that he must blame her for involving them.
However, she was temporarily out of solution.
In the afternoon, Jamie somehow managed to obtain various medical equipment.
This villa was truly transformed into a small hospital by him. Freya looked at the various medical equipment from different cities. The power of LEV was indeed terrifying.
After arranging the medical equipment, she also took a look at them. Many of these devices were brand. new, and some were still unopened.
She was concerned that Jamie might go to the hospital to steal equipment from others, but fortunately, he refrained from doing so. Otherwise, in the event of a terrorist attack, it would undoubtedly result in casualties among the hospital staff!
Jamie appeared to be afraid that Edward would discover something, so he never allowed Edward to wake up and only administered sedatives at regular intervals.

Freya was worried that if this continued, Edward would likely suffer from malnutrition.
At 3 p.m. in the middle room on the third floor of the villa.
Moonblade pushed the door open and saw Jamie standing by the floor-to-ceiling window. He stood there silently, and she was unsure of his thoughts.
