Chapter 39 Why Would She Like You?
After entering the residential estate of the Hood Residence, Freya introduced Edward while chatting with Isabella.
“This is my assistant, Edward Fraser, a talented student from Evergreen University,” Freya introduced with a smile.
Isabella looked at him with shining eyes. “What a handsome young man.”
Edward stood obediently next to Freya and greeted, “Hello, Miss Parker.”
“Don’t call me Miss Parker. I prefer you call me Isabella. Isabella stared at Edward and tilted her head in thought. “I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before.”
Edward blushed.
He had once been an escort, and Isabella was one of his clients.
Fortunately, Isabella had drunk heavily that day and was seated next to other escorts. Therefore, she didn’t have a clear impression of him.
Freya changed the topic. “You’ve been taking care of my brother lately. I want to thank you, but I’ve been -busy with the Kaufmann Group. I’ll treat you to a meal when I’m free.”

“Kittie, my residential estate has a great view. Would you be interested?” Matthew asked.
Knowing his character well, Freya took a step back and returned to Edward’s side.
“I have a male companion, so I don’t need to trouble you,” she replied.
Matthew narrowed his eyes and looked at Edward. “Your assistant?”
Edward stood still and met his gaze.
With that, the two looked at each other for a few seconds. Matthew chuckled. “How interesting”
For a poor and unremarkable young man, he had quite an impressive presence. This guy was not to be underestimated.
It seemed that he might have a new rival in the game of pursuing Freya. However, Matthew didn’t mind this kind of challenge as he was determined to win over her.
As they chatted for a while, a servant from the Hood family came over to inform him. “Mr. Matthew, Mr. Hood wants you to go over. You’ll be giving a speech on stage soon.”
Matthew nodded and left.
Watching his back, Isabella sighed softly. “It may not be easy for Matthew to take over the Hood Group.”
“Hasn’t he already taken over?” Freya asked in confusion.
“His parents have never liked him, so letting him take over the company is a last resort. But I think he’ll still face some obstacles in some ways,” Isabella explained.
Not long after, Matthew stepped onto the stage to deliver a speech.
As Freya listened, most of his speech was official rhetoric regarding the future development of the Hood Group and words of gratitude toward their collaborators.
She felt a little tired, and her arm that was resting on Edward’s arm felt a little heavier.
Edward turned his head and asked, “Frea, do you want to lean on me and rest for a while?”
“It’s okay,” she declined. Freya had truly been exhausted these past few days. Otherwise, this kind of banquet would not have been enough to tire her out.
Halfway through the speech, the final guest finally arrived at the estate.
Radley was the last person to arrive. When he entered, he saw that Matthew had already started his speech, so he stood at the door and listened.

“I-I thought that since Freya and you had a marriage before and she was once your family, it would be best to shake hands and make peace,” she stuttered with her tearful eyes testifying to her sincerity.

Given Freya’s current temperament, it seemed impossible.
Radley’s gaze locked onto the blue figure.
Freya’s personality was a bit wild and unrestrained, and her physical abilities were exceptional. Standing there in a lazy manner, she stood out from the people around her.

After Matthew ended his speech and the audience applauded, someone immediately noticed Radley and many people came over to toast him.

Suddenly, a chubby man in the crowd looked at Edward, and his eyes lit up. “Eddie?”
When Edward saw the man, his face turned pale. The chubby man was the owner of the Azure Club. What is he doing here?!
