Freya tried to sit up while using the bed for support, but her arms were aching. Rosie immediately took Radley’s medical report from the bedside table and handed it over along with some X-ray films.

For the next couple of weeks, Rosie rarely came to the hospital. She only came once a day to visit Radley before leaving, and she even forbade Hannah to go to the hospital.
Freya spent every day by Radley’s side, constantly monitoring his condition and watching over him to make sure that he stayed in bed. They were together day and night, and it felt as if they had never spent as much time together in the past few years as they had over the past few days.
Radley’s wounds showed clear signs of healing within about two weeks, and his recovery was going well. Whenever Freya looked at the X-ray films, she felt a sense of relief. It seemed that her gamble had paid off -she had made the right choice by taking her chances with the 51-percent probability.
