Radley buried his face in Freya’s neck and chuckled softly. “Here I was wondering how you got in. Turns out you bribed the people around me.”
Freya laughed. “What do you mean bribe? Your mother was just looking out for you.”
Radley reached out and ruffled Freya’s hair, unable to resist hugging her and taking a deep whiff.
“I thought that was all there is in our lives.”
“We still have a long life ahead of us, and there are still many things we haven’t done. Besides, you haven’t heard Jolly call you Daddy yet. Freya looked smugly at Radley. “He has already called me Mommy.”
A smile played at the corners of Radley’s lips. “I used to think he was Matthew’s child.”
Freya looked at him with disdain. “Do you really see me as such a fickle person? To have a child with Matthew so soon after getting divorced?”
She patiently explained, “Matthew is just a friend of my brother’s. There’s nothing between us at all. We pretended to be boyfriend and girlfriend back then just to make you jealous. I hid my true identity because I was afraid you would take Jolly away from me.”
Now, she knew that if something really happened, Radley wouldn’t take Jovius away from her.
The two of them chatted with each other for a while. When Freya got up again. Radley wanted to hold her back but was warned by Freya to stop.
“Don’t stop me anymore. Your mother is still waiting.”
Radley, who had always been cold and aloof, glared at Freya.

Coming out of the ward, she saw Rosie standing at the other end of the corridor.

The fourth floor was where the ICUs were located. Emergency patients would all be admitted here. Freya was worried that there might be sudden emergency patients, so she didn’t want to occupy a ward.
After discussing with Ethan, he arranged a doctor’s break room for Freya.
Once everything was settled, Freya went to Radley’s ward.
It was already eight in the morning. Radley was sitting inclined on the bed, and Connor was standing by the bedside, reporting recent events in the Monaghan Group.
When Radley saw Freya enter, he immediately looked a Connor and said, “Wait a moment.”

The ward was quiet. Freya brought a bowl of noodle soup and sat by Radley’s bedside, handing it to him.
Radley’s eyes flickered slightly.
Freya squinted. “You’re not waiting for me to feed you, are you? As far as I remember, your arm isn’t injured.”
Radley pursed his lips and reluctantly took the bowl of noodle soup from Freya’s hand.

After they finished breakfast, Freya was ready to leave.
“I need to go back and study some materials. You rest here.”
Radley looked at Freya’s bloodshot eyes and frowned. “You don’t need to rush to study the materials. Take
a rest first.”
“It’s okay. I’m not sleepy.”
She was about to get up, but he had already grabbed her wrist, pulling her closer to himself. “Then rest with me.”
Freya was pressed onto the bed, her face turning red. “Radley!”
“Don’t talk. Just sleep.”
Freya had only slept for three hours in the morning, and she hadn’t slept at all last night. Now that she was being pressed onto the bed by Radley, and there was nothing but silence in the ward, exhaustion soon took over her body. With the person she had been worried about most by her side, her eyelids couldn’t hold up any longer.
Three minutes later, Freya entered dreamland.
Beside her, Radley opened his eyes, his deep and intense gaze fixed on Freya beneath his proud eyebrows.
She was too tired.
Radley felt a pang of heartache and tightly covered Freya with the blanket..
The ward was quiet, with the person he cared about by his side. He thought this was the happiest time he had ever been in the past few years.
Time passed bit by bit, and the evening glow gradually rose.

Suddenly, there was a noise at the door of the ward.
The door was forcefully pushed open, and the sound preceded the arrival of the person.

Chris burst into the room with Mikael.
Mikael looked at him helplessly. “Slow down. Don’t you know how to knock on the door?”

Mikael frowned behind him. “What’s wrong?”
After asking, he turned his gaze toward the hospital bed.
Radley’s expression was so cold; he looked as if he was ready to kill and stared icily at the two.
Within his embrace, Freya snapped out of her daze and rubbed her eyes as she looked at Chris. The next second, her face turned beet red, and she suddenly jumped out of bed. “Um, I, uh… I accidentally fell
