Freya and Isabella waited in the hallway for half an hour before the door of the ward opened.
There was a clear slap mark on Braxton’s face, and Sylvia’s eyes were red, but the atmosphere between them was quite amicable.
Freya could tell at a glance that Sylvia must have vented her anger and felt remorseful after.
On the way home from the hospital, she drove the car with Isabella in the passenger seat while Sylvia and Braxton sat in the back seat.
Sylvia was on the phone with Ethan, listening to him talk about various post-operation precautions.
Freya felt helpless and said, “Mom, you could have asked me about these things, right?”

When they were a few blocks away from home, the smiles on everyone’s faces froze.

“It can’t be our home. Otherwise, the butler would have called by now,” Sylvia said.

“Don’t panic, Frey,” Isabella said from the side. “Calm down. Get out of the car. I’ll drive.
After ending the call, Sylvia looked distant. “It’s our house. The butler-Mrs. Wesson is trapped inside!”
Braxton’s face instantly turned serious.
“Frey, stop the car!”
Freya didn’t think about anything else. She just wanted to see Jovius immediately! Upon hearing Braxton’s command, she stepped on the brake, and the car came to a sudden stop.
Braxton got out of the car, pulled Freya out of the driver’s seat, and pushed her into the back seat. “Mom, watch Frey”
Then, her car quickly headed toward the Kaufmann Residence.
Freya’s heart trembled. Even with the distance of a few blocks that were quite far, the fire was so huge that they could see the thick smoke covering half the sky.

In less than five minutes, Braxton parked the car at the entrance of their house. He couldn’t drive any further as the fire was too intense.
The Kaufmann Residence was already large, and there were many trees around, so it prevented the fire from spreading to the neighbors.
At this moment, the many panicked servants of the Kaufmann family stood on the street beside the passersby who stopped to watch.
Freya opened the door and rushed out of the car. In the crowd, she saw several nannies who took care of Jovius.

When the nanny saw Freya, she grabbed her sleeve as if she had found her lifeline.
“Miss, we really don’t know. The fire started too quickly! It just sparked in an instant, and we didn’t have time to grab the young master!”
A gust of wind blew past them, and the scorching heat hit their faces..
Ereya’s heart froze, and her body turned cold. She turned around without hesitation, wanting to rush into
the fire.
However, Braxton stepped forward and grabbed her. “Frey, calm down!”
“Brax, let go of me. Jolly’s inside!” She stared at the burning villa with flames spewing out of the windows. Braxton glanced at the villa and felt his heart sink.
At that moment, he looked at Freya, who had lost control, and reached out to hit the back of her neck, and she went limp in his arms.
Sylvia also restrained herself from rushing into the fire. The thought of Jovius stuck in the fire tore her heart apart.
“Mom. Izzy. You two watch over Frey!” Braxton said firmly.
He carried Freya back to the car and asked Sylvia and Isabella to get in as well.
Then, he called a few servants over. “Go find water and blankets!” He had to personally save his nephew.
“Mr. Kaufmann, that won’t do! You can’t enter with a watered blanket with such a big fire. Even firefighters. won’t be able to get in for a while!”
“Firefighters. Where are the firefighters?!” Braxton turned to the servant.
The Kaufmann family had always treated their servants well. So, the servant gritted his teeth with tears streaming down his eyes. “Mr. Kaufmann, when the fire started, it seemed like it ignited from all directions. It’s only been a little over three minutes since the fire started!”
A little over three minutes. And the fire had spread throughout the entire villa?! Braxton’s heart-sank.
This was arson. It wasn’t an accidental fire! He clenched his hands and quickly thought.
As he thought of the “Compendium of Medical Wisdom Freya had mentioned to him, he quickly concluded that Jovius was most likely not inside the house. He had been taken away!
However, weren’t those people who set the fire afraid of burning down the “Compendium of Medical
Wisdom” too?
Braxton frowned. The arsonist even waited until everyone had left before starting the fire!
Freya had just been exposed for developing a new medicine and making a huge contribution to the pharmaceutical industry. Yet the Kaufmann Residence was on fire at this time.
It only took ten minutes for the Caltun Fire Brigade to arrive at the scene. But even with such a speedy response, the firefighters were still shocked by the intensity of the fire. “How is it possible for it to burn like this in just a few minutes?!”
The crowd was in chaos, but the butler never made it out.
She had been working for the Kaufmanns for decades and was like a friend to Sylvia. Even Braxton and Freya regarded her as family. Their hearts bleed with the news.
Braxton’s eyes were bloodshot. After arranging for the servants to stay at a hotel owned by the Kaufmanns, he drove his family to another villa.
Isabella and Sylvia sat in the back seat, guarding the unconscious Freya.
Braxton glanced at Freya’s pale face through the rearview mirror while tightly gripping the steering wheel. Someone had set his house on fire, harmed his family, and kidnapped Jovius! His heart was filled with a strong desire for revenge, but he took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.
At the burned Kaufmann Residence, a Pagani screeched to a halt at its entrance 20 minutes later.
Radley jumped out of the car and dashed forward as the firefighters attempted to stop him. “Please stop!* “Where is Freya?” He gritted his teeth as his gaze fixed on the burning house.
“No one in this family is harmed except for the butler. Everyone has been evacuated. Please do not approach the fire scene. It’s dangerous here!”
Freya’s not here.
She’s safe.
Radley turned around and got back in the car. His heart, which had been pounding violently, finally
calmed down a bit.
Then, his phone in the car rang.
He answered the call, and Connor’s voice came through, “Mr. Monaghan, we have investigated and discovered that someone intentionally set the fire at the Kaufmann Residence.”
Radley gritted his teeth and stared at the burning house before driving away.
He had more important matters to attend to than seeing Freya at the moment. He needed to eliminate the source of trouble lurking in the shadows!
