Chapter 320 He Actually Came in Person
Freya’s expression turned cold. Helga had to be well-informed since she knew some of the rules for the competition. After finding out that Brisa had been taken away by the police, Helga deliberately came to provoke her.
“I’m confident that my assistant will be fine. However, since you’ve seen the trending topic, you must have also noticed the argument between Miss Freeman and I, right?” Freya smiled as she looked at Helga, her clear eyes seemingly able to see through everything.
Helga was surprised. She had kept this matter a secret and even asked a few friends to help boost it. Freya couldn’t possibly know-
“Yes, I saw it, Miss Kaufmann. But don’t worry, those people online are just talking nonsense. Fortunately, you cleared everything up in the end.” Helga smiled.
Freya nodded. “The Twitter trend must have been boosted, and it should be easy to look. into. There aren’t many people present today, so we can focus on Villa No. 4.”
Freya looked at Helga with a fake smile. “The person who boosted the Twitter trend is really ignorant. I have already contacted some professionals to investigate and find out who it is. When we do, I won’t let this person off.”
Helga’s heart trembled. Although she had gone through several middlemen, she felt uncertain after looking at Freya’s confident demeanor. Helga couldn’t figure out how effective the wealthy families’ methods were, and her smile became somewhat forced.
“When you find out, don’t forget to let me know. I’ll help deal with them.”
Freya snorted and continued her way forward with Leah.
Helga deliberately fell behind since she didn’t want to walk with Freya anymore. The latter was somewhat mysterious; while she usually appeared indifferent, Helga always thought that Freya’s eyes seemed to understand everything.
It took them a full ten minutes to reach the north shore from the villa. It was almost 7 o’clock in the evening when Freya finally arrived near the venue, so she arrived just in time.
On the northern edge of the Pink Beach, there was a white villa surrounded by large glass decorations. Through the glass, it was clear that the lights were on, illuminating the beach
several meters around it.
Freya walked in with Leah. Some of the contestants who had arrived earlier were already chatting; Freya took a look around and saw that the first floor of the villa had been decorated like a banquet hall.
She immediately caught the attention of many people as soon as she entered. The
contestants knew that there would be a lot of media coverage and had brought very exquisite dresses, but none of them could compare to Freya’s.
Someone whispered, “She’s definitely a rich girl from a prominent family. Now I understand what it means to be overshadowed in terms of beauty.”
“After Freya appeared, it seemed like our clothes were not worth looking at anymore.”
“She’s also gorgeous.”
A girl whispered, “I think Freya is a nice person, but I’m afraid to talk to her. Otherwise, Riley will start making snide remarks.”
“Riley Riley’s online reputation is ruined now.”
Amidst the discussions, Freya walked in with Leah, wearing a polite smile on her face.
After entering the house, Freya greeted a few people and noticed that Leah’s gaze had fallen onto the long table beside them. Freya glanced at it and saw that the table was covered with a pristine lace tablecloth adorned with exquisite pastries and drinks decorated with flowers. Leah’s gaze was fixed on the pastries.
Freya smiled and said, “If you want to eat, go ahead.”
“But Miss Kaufmann, didn’t you say that eating too much on such an occasion would make people mock me?”
“I also said that only those bored ones will,” Freya whispered and smiled when she saw that Leah was still hesitant. “How about I accompany you? I’m also hungry.”
Freya and Leah stood by the table and had some food. Not long after, they heard the staff of the program group go up on stage.
Freya held a glass of champagne and watched as the staff made several official remarks before getting to the point. “For tonight’s banquet, we have also invited representatives from four investment companies. Let’s give them a round of applause.”
Four representatives from the investment companies appeared, and Freya took a few steps forward when she saw Inken.
“And finally, this is Mr. Radley Monaghan, the president of Monaghan Group!” the host
smiled.
There was a commotion in the audience, and everyone’s gaze fell on the stage.
“What’s going on? Isn’t Connor West supposed to be the representative of Monaghan Group?
Why has Radley come in person?”
“Oh my God, I saw Radley once on a financial show. He looks even more handsome in person-”
Amidst the commotion, Freya stood still and frowned at Radley. He had just been injured, so why had he come to attend the banquet?
After the introductions, the representatives of the investment companies stepped down from the stage. The participants who came to compete are all aiming for better career
development, and these few investors are obviously the best choice in the country among
the sponsors.
Soon, people gathered around them, though there weren’t many around Radley. Many people secretly glanced at him, but no one dared to approach him of their own accord.
From among the crowd, Riley’s gaze was firmly fixed on Radley. She was instantly attracted to him since the man stood there, exuding a cold aura. Although he was expressionless, he made everyone around him fade into the background. This kind of man is exactly her type!
Riley encouraged herself internally. Although the Monaghan Group is currently thriving, she heard that there have been internal problems recently. Radley had to be too busy to manage them and so came here.
Riley held two glasses of champagne and walked toward Radley with a smile. “Hello, Mr. Monaghan.”
Radley’s gaze had been focused on Freya, and he only looked coldly toward Riley when he heard her voice. Seeing that it was Riley, a trace of disgust flashed in his eyes.
“Do you need something?”
Riley couldn’t maintain her smile any longer, but when she got closer, she became even more infatuated. “I am Riley Freeman, the heiress of Freeman Group.”
Radley’s expression remained unchanged. “I know.”
Riley’s heart skipped a beat. “I actually came to see you because of this competition. Monaghan Group is the sponsor, and I believe it must be interested in entering the perfume market, right?”
She smiled shyly. “Actually, my lifelong dream is to create the finest perfume in the world. Even though my family runs a real estate company, I still aspire to find one that can help fulfill my dream.”
Then, she handed the glass to Radley and looked at him with anticipation.
