The Amnesic Genius Ex-wife chapter 192

Chapter 192 The Drunkard’s Intentions Lie Not in the Wine

Radley took the phone back from Hannah’s hand.

Recently, his relationship with Freya had grown much closer, which should have been a good thing. However, as they grew closer, Radley found that his once strong self–control was starting to waver.

He wanted to be a part of her life and openly become the man standing by her side.

Hannah felt a bit aggrieved.

But looking at her brother, she dared not say anything more.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Radley typed on the screen, ‘It was Hannah fooling around just now. Sorry.’

Hannah innocently took the blame.

The next day, Freya got up early, said goodbye to Slyvia after breakfast, and hurriedly drove to West Geft Joint Department.

She wanted to learn several things, mainly related to mortise and tenon structures.

Freya was curious if she could convince, Brandon and his wife to stay in Caltun.

While Brandon was still there, she could learn something with his supervision.

Freya was full of enthusiasm for learning.

But a certain middle–aged man’s enthusiasm for work was clearly not enough.

Freya arrived at Brandon’s office early in the morning and waited until ten o’clock.

Only then did Brandon saunter in with a small cloth bag.

Freya hesitated to speak.

“Mr. Lane, you’re here quite early.”

Brandon chuckled, glancing at the busy scene in the outer office.

“I have nothing else to do.”

Then, he looked somewhat like a master, glancing at Freya. “So, are you my disciple or my boss now?”

Freya chuckled at the slip. “I guess I was a bit careless there. Of courseyou’re my master.”

She went to the side and placed the tea she had prepared in front of Brandon.

“You are the master, and your word is final.”

Freya took out the thick book on mortise and tenon joinery from the cabinet.

Brandon watched as she worked on various small mortise and tenon parts.

“Your hands need to be steady when making these things. Only then can the parts fit seamlessly. But I saw

that you handled the small wood quite well earlier.”

Freya smiled.

As a surgeon, her hands were definitely steady.

She had already learned these basic skills in other areas. After carving a few small parts, Freya tried to assemble them. She had just started and was learning to assemble a mini version of a small stool.

Brandon watched her with a smile.

He did not speak when Freya made a mistake.

Only when Freya could not assemble the small stool did he take some pleasure in her misfortune.

“You drilled the hole crookedly.”

Freya widened her eyes and said, “Then why didn’t you say anything earlier?”

“How can you remember if you did not make some mistakes?” Brandon smiled.

As master and disciple chatted, the office door suddenly opened.

They turned to look, and Radley stood at the door, holding a tablet in his hand as he walked in.

“Radley, you’re here.”

Brandon smiled meaningfully and shifted his gaze from Radley to Freya.

Freya felt a little flustered under his scrutiny. “Mr. Lane, your gaze is a bit menacing.”

Radley’s expression remained calm as he looked at Brandon. “Mr. Lane, my company has been handling a project that requires simple mortise and tenon techniques recently. I’ve come to learn from you.”

Brandon raised an eyebrow slightly. “Learn from me? If you want to learn from me, you must formally become my disciple and perform the traditional rites of apprenticeship, including bowing and offering tea, just like Freya.”

For Radley, this was not a difficult task.

He walked to the tea table, picked up a cup of tea, and placed it in front of Brandon.

Brandon looked at the teacup with disdain.

Radley’s deep brows and eyes glanced imperceptibly at Freya beside him.

Brandon sighed softly.

If he wanted this proud young man to kneel down and pay respects, he would have to be truly interested in tenon–mortise. But now he also understood that this young man had come here not for the sake of tenon–mortise but for something else.

Fortunately, he was satisfied with the future husband of his apprentice. Brandon casually waved his hand.

“What do you want to learn from me?”

“Let

Radley’s voice was calm. “Let me take a look first.”

!

Brandon’s office had a long table, but it was not very wide.

Radley sat across from Freya and picked up the tablet to look at the business affairs while his subordinates handled the company’s documents.

From his position, he could raise his eyes and see Freya concentrating on various pieces of wood in front of her.

She seemed completely unaware of his presence, fully immersed in her work with the wooden blocks.

Radley’s gaze gradually softened. He could openly watch her without fear of being discovered as she immersed herself in another matter.

At noon, lunch was delivered from Smalzot Yard.

Radley had it sent directly to Brandon’s office, and the three of them sat together to eat.

Freya was full of enthusiasm. After finishing her meal; she went back to continue assembling. In the afternoon, at three o’clock, she finally completed a small stool that met Brandon’s standards with a perfect

fit.

Radley had a smile on his face.

When Radley saw Freya’s radiant smile, his lips curved slightly upward.

After finishing the project, Freya immediately moved on to making other small parts.

Brandon lazily sipped his tea while time seemed to slow down.

Even the dust particles in the air appeared to stop floating.

Radley felt unprecedented peace, hoping time could continue like this.

Near the end of the workday, Freya completed another mini square table in her hands.

She played with the small table, which was no larger than the size of her palm, and looked up at Brandon.

“Mr. Lane, when will you bring your wife to Caltun?”

“I’ve already talked to her, and she’s willing to move to the city. The only problem is that my current residence is quite noisy. I’m currently looking for a house, and once I find one, she’ll move to the city.”

Freya smiled. “What kind of house are you looking for? Let me help you find one.

Brandon thought for a moment. “My wife loves gardening, so I need to find a place with a large garden.”

It was indeed‘ not easy to find a house in the city with a suitable garden for gardening. Several villas under Freya’s name could fit the criteria.

However, Freya believed Brandon’s wife would not fancy those modern–style buildings.

If she wanted to keep Brandon in Caltun, the most crucial thing was to win over his wife. Brandon would not mention leaving again as long as she liked it there.

Freya had a plan in mind.

Brandon’s office seemed covered with transparent golden hue as the sunset.

“It’s time to go. There haven’t been many things happening in West Geft recently.”

Brandon silently looked to the side, where Radley was still handling business affairs.

It was not that there were not many things happening but that this young man had taken care of almost everything. However, for some reason, this young man did not know how to ask for recognition in return for his efforts.

As Freya got up, Radley turned off the tablet and stood up.
