Braxton’s voice was hoarse. “I’ve never heard you brag like this before.”
“I’m not bragging!” Freya grew agitated. “I’ve looked at your medical records a few times these past few days, Brax. I’ve done my research; there is hope for your illness!”
However, Braxton shook his head. “You don’t have to comfort me.”
Freya angrily insisted when she heard those words, “I’m telling the truth! Brax, Have you been hopeless. for too long that you are afraid to believe in hope?
“I’m your sister. I won’t give you hope and then let you fall into despair again!”
The lounge area fell silent.
Braxton’s figure was as still as a rock.
“What evidence do you have?” he eventually murmured.
Freya was furious. “I’m your sister. Do I need evidence to show to you?”
She thought for a moment, “I’ll give you the treatment plan within three days. Currently, I think there’s a 40 percent chance of success! But remember, this 40 percent chance is for each attempt! If one doesn’t work, try two times, if two don’t work, try four times! Are you still afraid of the pain from the surgery?” Braxton suddenly looked up with a glimmer of hope in his dim eyes, and his hands trembled slightly. Freya’s chest tightened at the sight, and her heart ached for her brother.
She slowly leaned down and pulled Braxton into a hug.
“Brax, you have to believe in your family.”

Freya smiled as she caressed her belly. “I thought this baby was just lazy.”
Braxton, with a gentle look in his eyes, suggested, “Perhaps the baby sensed that you were angry and excited, and they wanted to help you vent by kicking me.”
As he said that, he suddenly asked out of curiosity. “Frey, don’t you want to know it it’s a boy or a girl?”

Freya caressed her belly, hoping the baby would kick again, but the baby remained still.
After resolving Braxton’s matter and getting him to promise to come home after work instead of overworking himself, Freya finally left with peace of mind.
She sent Isabella a message when she got back to Kaufmann Residence.
Freya: Izzy, give me some time. Brax really has his reasons. He will explain it to you.
Freya: Trust me, if he doesn’t come to you, I will personally come and explain it to you!
After sending the message, she let out a sigh.
The truth was, she was still gathering people to study Braxton’s medical records. If she could overcome this problem, it would be a contribution to medical science.
This illness was far from being as easy as she had told Braxton.

She was going to become a liar.
Freya lowered her gaze, looking at her belly.

Freya coughed lightly when she read the message. She had been so busy with her brother and Isabella’s matters since returning from Vroria that she almost forgot about this.

After a few seconds, Radley replied, “The meeting will start at 9 am, but I’ve asked Connor to postpone it to 10 a.m. You’ll have to make up for that one hour.
Freya gritted her teeth. Radley had become particularly demanding recently!
Freya: Your time is precious, Mr. Monaghan. Every minute is worth a lot. I might not be able to afford it.
Radley: Dinner at the Joint Department tonight. Your treat.
And Freya thought that was fine. The Joint Department had only had one or two dinners since its establishment.
Considering how everyone had been working hard, Freya had no objections. ‘Okay,’ she replied.
The dinner was scheduled at Nightshade Club.
After replying to the message, Freya looked at her chat with Isabella.
Isabella still hadn’t replied.
Freya let out a sigh, finished breakfast, and told Sylvia, Mom, I’m going to West Geft.”
Sylvia worriedly frowned. “You should be resting at home at this stage of the pregnancy!”
Freya caressed her belly and smiled proudly. “It’s fine, the baby is very well-behaved. They don’t usually cause me any trouble. Besides, I’m only going to attend a meeting.”
The creasing on Sylvia’s forehead relaxed. “This will only be until the end of the month. Starting next month, you have to stay at home with me every day.”
Freya could imagine how she might suffocate from boredom if she stayed at home every day.
And she would be tied up this month. She had to come up with her brother’s plan, confess to Isabella, handle the matters in West Geft, and also prepare medicine for Trisha.
No one knew if that hand might reach out to the Kaufmanns again from the shadows.

She soon drove out of the house and headed toward the Joint Department in West Geft.
After entering the meeting room, Freya glanced at the time that showed that it was exactly 9:50 am.

Freya sat down next to him and asked, “How’s it going?”
Radley’s voice was calm. “The West Geft project has made good progress while we were away. The second phase is almost complete, and some of the renovated houses on the outskirts are ready for residents to move back in.”
“Already?!” Freya’s eyebrows shot up as joy filled her face. “That’s great! It saves those residents from having to live outside. Even though they are given rental subsidies, it’s still not the same as living at home”

The room immediately fell silent, and a few people put on serious expressions. “Mr. Monaghan, Miss Kaufmann, we will go back to work now!”
Freya forced a smile. “Go ahead.”
