Chapter 52 Irresistible Charm
Chapter 52 Irresistible Charm
“Wait, what?” Shiloh’s eyebrows shot up in surprise as Julia’s words hit him.
‘Is she actually planning to crash a wedding?‘
‘Did she still have feelings for Carter?‘
Now, what Jared had always suspected was proven true: Julia tied the knot with him to stir the pot and mess with her ex–fiancé’s head.
It made sense, though.
Julia and Carter practically grew up as peas in a pod, tight as two coats of paint. Giving up on that kind of bond wouldn’t be easy.
But it was fine- at least to Shiloh. As long as Julia cut ties with his brother, he was cool with whatever she was up to.
“Don’t tell Jared,” Julia urged, knowing the latter would stop her if he caught wind of her plan. “You got it; my lips are sealed,” Shiloh nodded in agreement.
“All right, I’m done eating. I’m going out, and I probably won’t return tonight. I’ll let know,” Julia stated, setting her utensils down.

Shiloh, who usually liked staying out of things, couldn’t help but ask, “Will you meet Carter or what?”
Julia sighed as if she heard a dumb question. “Why would I go find him now when it’s not even the 18th yet? I’m going to the hospital to sort out my brother’s discharge papers and find a place for him to stay. Then, I’ll cook a nice meal for him, and we’ll have a good reunion,” she needlessly explained before heading towards the door to change her shoes.
“Got it,” Shiloh said with a nod, realizing it wasn’t his place to pry into her personal matters. At the hospital, Julia gazed at Conrad with a smile in her eyes.
Weirded out, Conrad asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I’m just happy to have a good–looking brother,” Julia exclaimed, her smile widening.
Conrad’s face had fully healed, and there were no longer any signs of burn scars. He had fair skin, refined features, and a charming aura that gave off a noble vibe.
Definitely deserving to be the heartthrob from grade school days to university!
“Why would you suddenly bring that up, especially with other people around?” Conrad shyly remarked as he glanced over at a nearby nurse.
Julia also followed his gaze and checked out the nurse. “Hey, Nurse. Would you say my brother’s good–looking?”
The nurse blushed after stealing a quick look at Conrad. “Uh, well, I mean, I have, like, stuff to do and places to be. I should probably get going.”
And with that, she practically bolted from the scene.
Satisfied, Julia arched an eyebrow at Conrad, teasing, “See? That’s your irresistible charm working right there, bro.”
Speaking of which, Julia thought about Conrad’s ex–girlfriend, Karla. She wondered how Karla

would react if she saw Conrad’s face all fixed up. But of course, looks, alone, wasn’t enough. What really got to Karla was Conrad’s family background. So to really make that lady regret it, Conrad needed a background even more impressive than the Watson family’s.
“Now that you’re in good condition, how about we start a business?” Julia randomly suggested.
“Sounds good to me.” Conrad tightened his fist, a determined look on his typically soft face.
“But before we dive into that, we need to find a house.”
Julia and Conrad looked at several houses, one after the other, but none seemed to hit the spot. Not because the houses were trash or anything, but because they were too expensive for Conrad.
“Wait a sec!” Julia smacked her forehead in realization, totally forgetting the house in the Purple
Garden.
“I, uhm. I’ve got a place- well, it’s more like my mentor has a place. It’s been vacant for a while, and I’ve got the keys.”
“Where’s this place?” Conrad asked, his curiosity piqued.
“You’ll see when you come with me.”
After what felt like an eternity, Julia and Conrad hopped out of a cab, which stopped at the front gates of Purple Garden.
“Sis, are you seriously telling me this is it?” Conrad’s disbelief was written all over his face.
Purple Garden was like the fanciest villa area in their city, where only the rich could afford to live. And since it was beyond their reach, it was a place the Watson family could only dream about
before.
“Let’s head inside,” Julia told Conrad, thinking she not only had a house here but also owned luxury residences in other major cities.
Some she bought just because she liked them, while others were suggested by friends. She had so many properties that it took a lot of work for her to keep track.
When they got to Unit 8, Conrad was surprised again. Unit 8 was considered special, especially in posh places like Purple Garden.
Astonished, Conrad thought, “Damn! This divine doctor thing is really something!”
Just then, Julia walked up to the gate, and the face recognition system recognized her, signaling the villa door to open.
Conrad was amazed that his sister could just open the door with her face like she owned the place. But he guessed it was because Julia had been here with the divine doctor before, and her face got registered in the system.
“You should get your face registered in the system, too,” Julia suggested, and then she opened the door.
Inside, the villa was bright and roomy, with simple decor, classy furniture, and smart gadgets. Julia just lounged on the sofa, relaxed, unlike her brother, who seemed more cautious.
“So, do you like it?”
“Julia, don’t you think this place is way too fancy? What if we mess something up?” Knowing where her brother’s concern was coming from, Julia got up, held Conrad’s hand, and

pulled him to the sofa, telling him to chill out.
“Feel at home, bro. My mentor has houses everywhere, too many to even count. She’s more into the quiet life, like countryside things like fishing and staying healthy. City living isn’t her thing, and most of her houses were gifts from pals.”
To ease him more, Julia added, “I won’t even doubt it if she handed this place over to me without a thought if I asked for it. But if you are uncomfortable, we can look for another place.”
“No, I know; just saying,” Conrad shook his head in embarrassment as he replied.
After a bit of thought, he agreed.
“Okay, I’ll go pick a room and settle in. You head out to buy groceries. I’ll whip up a feast for tonight.”
“Sounds good.”

Conrad and Julia then divided their tasks – one dealt with the luggage upstairs, while the other left with a bag to get groceries.
Not long after Julia left the villa, she bumped into Carter and Vivien, who were just about to enter the villa.
