Chapter 34: Taking Off Your Shirt
With rapid reflexes, Julia swiftly pressed her hand against Jared’s mouth and used her other hand to push against the man’s chest.
“Julia, get up this instant! Are you still willing to provoke my brother right in front of me?!” Shiloh s voice soared, his frustration palpable. He’d undoubtedly be springing to his feet if not for his impaired legs.
Speechless, Julia pondered whether these two brothers were utterly ruthless with her. One forcefully kissed her, while the other seemingly ignored the recent occurrence. “Do you have eyes in the back of your head? Didn’t you see that your brother was the one who started it?” Julia retorted with a frustrated twitch of her mouth. Shiloh paid little heed to her protest. “Is it doing that’s left my brother like this?” An annoyed expression tugged at Julia‘ s lips. “Could you please stop standing there and making insulting remarks? If you re not going to lend a hand, I might as well give up resisting.”
“You dare, you‘
“Move it! Get over here!” Julia cut Shiloh off, her tone commanding.
Shiloh blinked in astonishment. Was she seriously instructing him to knock on his own brother?
Staring at Jared’s neck, Shiloh hesitated. After all, this was his older brother. He held him in high regard and couldn’t bring himself to strike him.
“Why are you hesitating? Move it! Your brother’s like a raging beast right now, and I’ve got considerable strength. If it were someone else, your brother would‘ ve been
‘devoured, bones and all!” Julia insisted, her resistance unwavering.
“No way, I can’t hurt my brother,” Shiloh stubbornly stood his ground.
Frustration welled up within Julia. “Seriously? This idea was yours in the first place! Last time, you were all too willing to give your brother advice without a thought about my well–being!”
Naturally, this wasn’t the time for humor. Julia had to intervene and halt Jared’s unruly behavior.
Given Shiloh’s immobile state, she had no choice but to enlist Joseph’s help as well.
Simultaneously, Shiloh and Julia turned their gazes toward Joseph, who seemed to be frozen in place, his legs threatening to give way beneath him.
“], 1–
“Move it!” Julia and Shiloh chorused, their urgency palpable.
Sweat began to bead on Joseph’s forehead as he clutched his stomach.

“No bathroom breaks!” Julia interjected mercilessly.
Joseph’s face contorted in a mix of determination and agony as he raised his hand into a makeshift chopping position, his forehead glistening with sweat.
“Chop!” Julia’s command reverberated through the air.
Joseph quivered, his teeth clenched, and he let go, the sound of his hand impacting the floor resonating through the room.
A pronounced click silenced the room, the tension dissipating instantly.
Joseph’s gaze oscillated between Jared, slumped against Julia, and his fallen hand. His expression was vacant, and his eyes glazed over as he continued to stare at his hand.
Similarly, Shiloh was fixated on Joseph‘ s dumped hand, contemplating the grim result had he been the one to make the strike.
Yet Julia had no time for Joseph or Shiloh‘ s reflections. At that moment, her focus. was solely on the unconscious Jared, whose face was nestled against her chest. Furrowing her brow, Julia gently pushed the unconscious man aside.
“For heaven’s sake, can you be a bit more delicate?” Shiloh’s frustration seeped into his words.
Undisturbed by his complaint, Julia ignored him and proceeded to adjust her disheveled attire.
“Is my brother alright now?” Shiloh inquired, his worry evident.
“He’s merely unconscious temporarily. How could he be alright? If the effects of the drug are not neutralized, he could experience lasting complications in the future.”
“Complications? What kind of complications?”
Julia’s gaze shifted towards Jared, her voice measured as she uttered a single word,
“Infertility.”
The weight of that word had a palpable impact on Shiloh, stripping away any inkling of jest.
“Joseph, call a doctor immediately.”
Julia arched an eyebrow and retorted, “Do you take me for a mere ornament?”
“I can’t trust you. If you take my brother to his room, you might end up having an affair with him,” Shiloh interposed himself between Julia and Jared.
At that moment, Jared stirred, his eyes flickering open. The blow to his neck had dazed him momentarily, but he was regaining his senses.
“Let her proceed with the treatment,” he pronounced.
Shiloh s eyes widened in astonishment as he regarded his brother. “No, brother, she might harm you.”

Jared struggled to rise from the sofa, his breathing labored. He met Julia’s gaze, deep pools of her eyes radiating with a shimmering intensity.
“Escort me… to my room,” Jared gasped.
“Of course,” Julia affirmed.

Chapter 34.2: Taking Off Your Shirt
Given Jared’s critical state, there was no room for delay. The Scott family s audacity in administering such potent medication to secure a connection with the Brooks family was shocking.
In truth, Julia hadn’t revealed the entire truth to Shiloh earlier Jared’s condition was precarious, potentially ending his life if left untreated
However, Julia had reframed from complete disclosure, sensing Shiloh
apprehension. The full extent of his fear if he knew the dire reality was something in couldn’t predict.
Assisting Jared into his room, Julia blocked Shiloh s attempt to follow suit
“You can’t enter.
“Are you really planning to be intimate with my brother?” Shiloh eyed Julia with suspicion.
“If you re inside, it will hinder the treatment,” Julia replied earnestly. The upcoming procedure would delve into Jared’s private matters, making it impractical for a third party to be present.
“No matter what you say, I’m determined to go in!” Shiloh persisted.
Julia gently settled Jared onto the bed and wheeled the wheelchair out.
“Let go of me! What are you up to, Julia?” Shiloh s protest was cut short as Juha firmly pushed the wheelchair out, the door closing with a resounding thud. Startled, Shiloh rubbed the ash off his nose and pounded on the door with frustration.
“Open this door, now! Joseph, fetch something and break it down!”
As he shouted, Shiloh realized that there was no response. He scanned the area, wondering where Joseph had disappeared so suddenly.
“Where is he? He was just here.”
Unbeknownst to Shiloh, Joseph stood just outside the door, clutching his heart He had managed to escape Shiloh’s demand for door–smashing, an outcome he dice 17and pretty fortunate. Giving his boss a beating earlier was one thing, but wrecking a door was an entirely different matter. He sensed that his boss would not take kindly to
that..
“Joseph, Joseph,” Shiloh called repeatedly.
“Strange, where did he disappear to?”
Nonetheless, Shiloh resumed knocking on the door, determined to make his presence known. Dang!
“Julia, hurry up!” Shiloh was mid sentence when the door swung open
Julia confronted Shiloh, her expression stern “Doctors treat atments without disruption. Haven’t you grasped that principle? Whether you believe đỡ vať maik, yön
can’t barge in and disturb me like that. I was administering an injection just now; do you realize that your interference could have caused me to inject him incorrectly?”
It was unusual for Shiloh to witness Julia addressing him so earnestly and admonishingly. Frankly, he felt somewhat uncomfortable in this new dynamic.
Julia’s words were still unfinished. “I didn’t reveal the whole truth earlier because. I was concerned about the potential shock it might cause you. The Scott family spiked his wine with the usual dosage. If you continue to disrupt my treatment, you might as well prepare for his funeral.”
Shiloh was left dumbfounded, his face draining of color. Julia’s look was now chillingly serious, devoid of her usual playful demeanor. Her demeanor, void of banter, was truly unsettling for him.
“Julia, please save my brother. You must save him! You have my permission to do whatever it takes to ensure his safety,” Shiloh implored earnestly before exiting their presence by shutting the door behind him.
Observing the firmly shut door, Julia recognized that everyone was an adult. Shiloh s intentions were clear to her, even without his explicit words.
In the next moment, the sound of hurried footsteps reached Julia’s ears from behind. Before she could react, she was pushed against the wall by the force of a man.
A resounding thud echoed through the air, drawing Shiloh‘ s attention as he departed.
The intensity of this collision exceeded even Julia‘ s previous encounter with traditional medicine.
Shiloh couldn’t help but ponder whether Julia and his brother had been alternating roles, sharing such experiences during this recent period. Was their family
experiencing a run of bad luck? Although he didn’t hold much superstition stock, the sheer coincidence was striking.
As Julia found herself pressed against the door by Jared, she realized that he was more conscious now compared to earlier.
“Julia, I… I’ll agree to any conditions you have,” the man’s voice was raspy, his breath unsteady.
“That’s not possible. The last time I brought it up, you weren’t exactly cooperative. Remember how you dumped me into the bathtub? I won’t be convinced that easily,” Julia retorted, her brows furrowed.
Jared raised his thick, mist–like eyebrows thoughtfully. Was this woman truly so unforgiving?
Just as he pondered her response, Julia nimbly maneuvered out from beneath Jared’s body. She walked over to the bed, patted the sheets, and gestured to Jared. “Take off your shirt, loosen your belt, and lie down.”
