Chapter 200: The Class President Wants to Confess to Julia
It wasn’t only Simon, but everyone looked at Julia in pure admiration and shock.
The Julia they knew before was pretty, but this Julia was breathtakingly beautiful.
There wasn’t much difference in her facial features. However, Julia had obviously learned how to take better care of herself and dress up.
Before, she would always tie her hair in a simple ponytail. Her bangs covered her forehead, and she wore loose clothes.
Julia dressed this way before because she thought her chest was too big and didn’t look good in body–hugging clothes. So, she always avoided wearing tight–fitting outfits.
But now, Julia learned how to look beautiful in any way she wanted; people could only live for at while, and youth was fleeting, so of course, she wanted to show her best self in the prime of her
life.
Clothing and appearance were one aspect, but her confidence and spirit were the most important.
The old Julia used to keep her head down whenever she went. Of course, it had something to do with her upbringing.
Her mother died when she was young, and her stepmother was oppressive. Her stepsister was much more talented than her, so she always felt insecure.
She only felt safe with her fiancé, Carter, so she pinned all her hopes on him. In the end, he disappointed and hurt her.
The current Julia exuded a unique charm. She was oozing with self–confidence, and her eyes radiated a form of optimism they had never seen before.
Confidence could make people beautiful, and with her innate beauty, it was no exaggeration to say that the current Julia, even without heavy makeup, outshone many young celebrities in the entertainment industry.
“Ju… J–Julia,” Simon stuttered, still in a daze.
“Mr. Class President, it’s been a long time,” Julia greeted him with a smile.
Simon stared at the radiant beauty in front of him. It felt like his eyes couldn’t move away from
her.
It wasn’t just him. All of the men inside the room couldn’t help but admire Julia. They all stared at her in amazement, making the other women uncomfortable.
“Come on! What’s so special about her?”
“Julia, don’t get me wrong, but did you get plastic surgery?” Lorelei asked sassily. She looked at Julia with obvious envy.
Julia easily sensed the jealousy in Lorelei‘ s tone. “Are you saying that I look prettier now? So, it must be true what they say, ‘Women change a lot after eighteen. I mean, look at you,” Julia trailed and scanned her body. “You seemed to have changed a lot, but maybe a bit too hastily.”
“What did you just say?” Lorelei hissed, glaring at her. She was so enraged that she almost jumped at her.
Julia’s lips curled into a small smirk as she calmly looked at Lorelei.
In this battle, it was clear who was winning and losing.

“That’s enough, everyone! We rarely gather together, so let’s just forget what happened earlier and enjoy the night,” Simon, the former class president, tried to mediate.
Julia and Maddie sat together. On the other hand, Lorelei sat across from them, still gazing at Julia with utter resentment.
Maddie pursed her lips. “Look at her. How can she have such small eyes but still stare at you that intensely? She’s obviously jealous. Look at her eyes; they re turning red,” she murmured.
Julia turned to Lorelei. Indeed, her eyes were naturally small, and how she glared at Julia made her eyes look huge. It was quite comical.
‘What are these two laughing about? They‘ re definitely mocking me,‘ Lorelei angrily thought. Her eyes widened even more and started to bulge slightly.
At that moment, one of their male classmates stepped forward to lighten the mood.
“Guys! Let us congratulate Simon on his promotion to manager! Although I’m also a company manager, I’m just a manager in a small company,” he chuckled and turned to Simon. “But you. my friend, are working at a huge company. You‘ re a department manager at North Corporation! The salary and benefits there are beyond comparison!”
“What company? The North Corporation?” Julia looked at Maddie in surprise.
Although Maddie mentioned yesterday that today’s class reunion was to celebrate Simon‘ s promotion, Julia didn’t expect he would work for North Corporation.
Julia’s shocked look was interpreted by her classmates as being impressed by Simon‘ s skills and
status.
Julia might have been from a wealthy family, but she had been kicked out of their home, and her life must have been quite difficult.
They all knew that Simon tried to woo her in the past. So, if their speculations were correct, Julia must be trying to warm up to Simon now.
Some of their classmates grimaced, thinking how materialistic Julia could be! Meanwhile, the others felt that it was natural.
Most women were like this, always judging people based on their achievements.
Simon came from an ordinary family and was simple back in high school. But now, he has become the department manager at North Corporation.
He had become a rising star with limitless prospects.
“Yup. Just got promoted,” Simon said with an easy smile, but deep down, he was ecstatic beyond
measure.
He didn’t think that Julia was as materialistic as they thought.
After all, someone as beautiful and with a good family background as Julia shouldn’t settle with a family with poor financial conditions.
Now, things were different for Simon. As a department manager at North Corporation, his annual salary started at no less than five hundred thousand dollars. Plus, he would have annual bonuses, which added to several hundred thousand bucks per year.
In short, he had the means to support Julia.
Julia slightly parted her lips, thinking that it was indeed the case. She had been to North Corporation a few times before, but they had never crossed paths.
It made sense. North Corporation was such a large conglomerate with many departments, and as

a company employee, Simon mostly worked at his own job.
It was perfectly normal for them not to have met.
“Congratulations,” Julia politely told him.
‘Is that all? Nothing more?‘ Simon almost said. He felt anxious and thought about how to steer the corporation.
At that moment, Simon’s classmate, Jimmy Evans, nudged him and gave him a meaningful look, a signal for Simon to make his move.
Simon looked at him with grateful eyes as if saying, “Thanks, dude. I’m counting on you.”
Jimmy cleared his throat and looked at Julia.
“Julia, I heard you‘ re single now. Simon, our wonderful president, is also single. So, both of you are here, looking attractive and successful. Why don’t you two date each other?”
Before Julia could answer, the mocking voice of Lorelei filled the table.
“Jimmy, what are you, some matchmaker? Don’t put Simon into this mess. Don’t you all know why Carter dumped Julia? Isn’t it because she pushed her future mother–in–law into the water and then pushed Carter’s lover during the wedding, causing a miscarriage? I even heard she caused a scene at Carter’s wedding and slapped his mother several times.”
Lorelei’s words caught everyone by surprise. Some were aware of this news, while others. weren’t.
The fact that Julia had caused a scene at Carter‘ s’wedding and hurt his mother was a shock to them.
“Oh my gosh. Is this true? Julia has some nerve! She even dared to hit Carter’s mother, considering she was once her future mother–in–law!”
“I’m speechless right now. This isn’t the Julia I knew.”
“Indeed. Look at how she dresses up now. She used to be so conservative. Look at her clothes-” Before their classmate could finish their statement, Maddie interrupted them with a loud voice.
