Chapter 169: Maddie is Bleeding
The zipper glided open, releasing an eerie tension into the room.
“Help!” Maddie’s cry was a mix of frustration and powerlessness. The urge to lash out surged within her, but her body remained a puppet, devoid of strength.
“Go on, cry your heart out. There’s nothing quite like the sound of weeping to excite me,” Jordan taunted. Stripping off his shirt, he ignited a candle, its flame flickering in front of Maddie, casting dancing shadows on the walls.
“Don’t… stay away!” Maddie’s eyes fixated on the quivering candle, a dreadful realization in her gaze.
She couldn’t afford to act recklessly. She wasn’t alone anymore; she carried three lives within her. She had to be cautious.
“Help! Help!”
“You’re in my villa, lying on my bed. Your pleas won’t reach anyone here,” Jordan sneered, a wild glint in his eyes.
Then, with a resounding crash, the door was kicked open with force.
What transpired?
Jordan spun around, and there was Julia, charging forward like a storm.
“You? How did you find your way here?”
Julia’s gaze fell on the bed where Maddie lay beneath Jordan’s grasp, tears streaking her face, her complexion drained of color.
“Maddie!”
At the sound of Julia’s voice, Maddie’s defenses crumbled.
“Julia! Help me! End this monster!”

Jordan’s gaze shifted between Julia and Maddie, a puzzled frown on his face. “You two know each other?”
Then, with a thunderous thud, a figure darted in from outside, colliding with the door.
“Ahh!” The bodyguard’s agonized yell filled the room as he writhed in pain.
Who else had arrived?
Could it be Jared?
Jordan’s mind raced, but his thoughts were jolted as he saw Henry stepping in. His expression froze momentarily.
“Henry? Why are you-”
Before Jordan could finish, Henry advanced with an air of deadly intent. He grabbed Jordan’s attire and slammed him against the wall, delivering a powerful blow to his face.
“Ah!” Jordan’s instinctual response was to shield his face from the pain.
But Henry wasn’t done. He proceeded to unleash a barrage of punches to Jordan’s midsection, each strike resonating with a vengeance.
“Ahh!” Jordan’s screams echoed in succession.
“Stop, Henry, please, it’s a misunderstanding!”
Julia assisted Maddie to her feet, checking her pulse. “Stay calm.”
“Quiet down, I told you to hush,” Henry silenced Jordan by pressing down on his mouth.
Jordan’s lips parted, spilling blood and two knocked–out teeth onto the floor.
Though resentment surged in Jordan’s eyes, he refrained from further actions. The Miles family held power, and they were on the brink of splitting ties with the Brooks family due to an ongoing conflict within the Brooks lineage. Revenge was within his grasp.

Chapter 169. Maddie is Bleeding
“It hurts! Julia, my stomach…” Maddie’s grip tightened on her abdomen, her face ashen, beads of cold sweat dotting her forehead. Her body trembled, drenched in perspiration, as if she were made of water herself, poured from the depths.
Henry’s restlessness surged, a burning desire to take a life consuming him. His gaze fixated on Maddie’s abdomen, the source of her persistent complaints. Could it be that Jordan had perpetrated some heinous act on her stomach before they’d arrived?
Amid Henry’s mounting anxiety, he noticed Maddie’s pants stained crimson.
Blood.
And it flowed profusely.
Henry spun around, his eyes tearing into Jordan, the intensity of his glare a visceral testament to his unquenchable fury. He yearned to slice Jordan apart with his gaze, to release his pent–up anger on Maddie’s assailant.
Confronted by Henry’s bloodthirsty gaze, Jordan grasped the gravity of the situation. Henry and Maddie shared a connection that seemed anything but ordinary. Could she be Henry’s beloved?
An unsettling notion, one that deeply unnerved Jordan. Loathing surged within him. Who had sent this innocent woman to his bed? He’d make the perpetrator’s existence a living nightmare, of that he was certain.
“Bleeding, it won’t stop. It hurts so much! Julia, I won’t die, will I?” Maddie’s terrified cry pierced. the air, her eyes locked onto her slightly swollen belly.
Though her time with these unborn lives was brief, they were, after all, an extension of her own being. She’d speak to them and tenderly touch her belly when solitude beckoned. Over two decades she’d savored this world, but these unborn souls had yet to taste its wonders.
“It’s alright, you’re safe,” Julia reassured with a gentle look, “I’ll staunch the bleeding first.”
Julia deftly positioned Maddie, her hands moving to the lower abdomen, applying pressure to strategic points, momentarily stemming the flow.
Henry bit his lip, his gaze unwavering on Maddie’s pallid visage. His actions remained uncertain, a dilemma haunting his thoughts.

Eventually, the bleeding subsided. Julia turned her gaze to Henry. “Help her up, be gentle.”
Maddie’s mouth formed a small pout at the directive, a sign of her resistance to Henry.
“Maddie, please cooperate,” Julia implored, perceiving Maddie’s hesitation.
“I… I understand,” Maddie relented, lying down obediently, letting Henry cradle her.
Credit where it was due, Henry’s touch was gentle, akin to caring for fragile glass art, his steps as light as a whisper. Lessons for Jordan could wait; the priority was delivering Maddie to the hospital.
Maddie’s condition was critical. Even with Julia’s extraordinary skills, modern medical equipment was indispensable. Thankfully, the ordeal concluded without catastrophe.
A hum broke the silence – a vibrating phone.
Jared’s call was picked up by Henry. “Maddie’s stable. Have you arrived? Join us in room 506.”
Within the VIP room, Julia comforted Maddie.
“Julia, are the babies really okay?”
To instill assurance, Julia adopted her most professional demeanor.
“I’m overseeing their care personally. You needn’t doubt it. Remember, I’m a divine doctor’s apprentice.”
Maddie teased, but her trust in Julia was unwavering. Julia could sense Maddie’s unspoken
conviction.
“Rest now, and I’ll provide medication to ensure the safety of the babies.”
With her words spoken, Julia rose and headed for the door, where Henry and Jared were approaching.
As Henry eased the door open, Maddie’s voice drifted out.
