Chapter 154: Julia Was Arrested
“Her ass is not as round as yours,” he uttered boldly.
Julia knew it was not the time to be shy and embarrassed, but she was, primarily upon hearing those words from the man.
“Besides, you live with me. I will know if you go out or not,” Jared added.
Realizing that he had a point, Julia could not help but raise her eyebrow.
“Tell me where you are. I’ll ask Joseph to pick you up.” The truth was that Jared was worried that she would be in danger. Although he was sure that Julia was innocent, the accusations were too serious, and she was outside alone. He was worried about her safety.
“You don’t have to worry about me. I can solve this on my own.”
On the other side of the line, Jared frowned. “What do you mean? You’ll shoulder everything
alone?”
He could not stomach the thought that Julia was planning to solve everything herself and not ask for help.
“I-” Before Julia finished speaking, a police car stopped.
Two police officers in uniform walked in her direction. Their eyes were serious as they looked at
her
“We just received the call. You hit someone with your car and ran away last night. Please cooperate and come with us.”
The thing that Jared feared came in no time. Right then and there, Julia encountered the police. She squinted, realizing that Philip must have reported everything to the authorities.
‘Great! What nice timing!‘ She said sarcastically, deep inside.
“I have a situation with me. Let’s talk about this later, okay? Ah, no. Scratch that. I think I’ll be late, so don’t wait for me,” she informed Jared over the phone. After finishing speaking, Julia didn’t give the man a chance to speak and hung up the phone directly.
That was when she finally had the chance to face the police officers more seriously this time. “You got
the wrong person. I am not the one who ran away.”
“We’ll talk about this at the police station. Please come with us,” one of them said, dismissing Julia’s explanation.
Julia knew her words were of no use now. Even if she didn’t do anything and would never admit to the crime, it was all useless. She had to find evidence to back her claims if she wanted to prove to everyone that she was innocent.
That was when she decided to tell Lincoln what happened and asked him to collect evidence as soon as possible.
Little did Julia know, as the police escorted her, someone from the shadows took a picture of the scene and posted it on the internet.
As expected, within a minute, she became the trending topic.
#Julia was arrested and deserved it!
In the comment section, a lot of people were celebrating because, finally, she was arrested. Meanwhile, Jared, who checked the internet, was agitated. He dropped his work at hand and gritted his teeth.

“Joseph, drive and go to the police station!”
“Yes, boss,” his assistant replied.
“Get someone to investigate. I want to find out in the shortest possible time.”
“Understood, Sir!”
At Purple Garden Manor, Conrad, who saw the same news, drove to the police station quickly. In contrast to Conrad and Jared’s worry, someone was standing on the balcony, feeling the fresh air with a gloomy smile. Vivien was happy and thought what was happening to Julia was just right for her.
‘You deserve it!”
Then she looked back at Carter sitting on the sofa and looking at his mobile phone.
“I didn’t expect that Julia would do such a thing…”
Carter frowned and kept sliding his fingers on the screen.
“Hey-” Vivien sighed deliberately, “Hit and run is no trivial matter. Now that she’s in the custody of the police, we know that she’ll be staying in prison, for who knows? Years? What can you say, Carter? Now that we’re talking about her, she saved you when she was young, right? Do you want to go and see her?”
Carter put down his phone and let out a deep breath.
“Look, she did wrong, and what she’s doing has nothing to do with me anymore. Besides, she hates me so much now. If I go to see her, she will think I will make trouble.”
“That’s right, Carter, you better not go.” After Vivien finished speaking, the living room fell into
silence.
After a while, Carter stood up.
“Carter, where are you going?” Vivien looked at the man with widened eyes.
“Didn’t you say you have a bad appetite these days? You always want to eat something sour, so I’ll head out and buy some oranges,” he informed her and went downstairs.
“Thank you, Carter, you are so kind to me.”
The man was already at the entrance, changing his shoes, when a thought came to mind. Carter looked at the woman seriously. “Are you pregnant? Is that why your appetite changed?”
“Who knows? Probably… probably not,” Vivien said, but deep inside, she was delighted.
That was what she wanted, to make Carter believe she might be pregnant, so he would pay more attention to her.
“I’ll buy oranges later. Go to the pharmacy for a pregnancy test kit. You have to make sure.” “Alright, I’ll do that,” Vivien said and nodded. She seemed happy about that idea.
Upon seeing the woman’s happiness, Carter blamed himself in his heart. He felt sorry. It was not true that Carter wanted to buy oranges. He wanted to go to the police station to see Julia’s situation.
He was aware that Julia hated him, but he didn’t want to be small–minded, so he decided that it would be better to see if he could do something to help her out.
However, seeing how Vivien believed him wholeheartedly, he realized he should forget his

original plan. After all, Julia did it on her own. It was just right that she would get the punishment
she deserved.
Besides, the fact that she committed a hit–and–run meant that even his help would not be useful. It was better to wait for Julia to be convicted and go to jail in the future, and he would find time to visit her again. With that, he could somehow fulfill his childhood sweetheart’s wishes.
On the other hand, Julia thoroughly explained what happened to the authorities.
“You said you didn’t go
“Yes. I have a witness.”
out last night. Can someone prove it?” the police officer asked.
“Alright, then, let this person come over.”
Julia frowned, “He…he works in the company and is busy.”
Seeing Julia’s faltering, the police judged that she was lying.
“Ms. Watson, please tell the truth. If you admit it yourself, your sentence will be lighter.”
“Wait a minute.”
Julia got her phone and typed a message to Lincoln.
To: Lincoln
[Did you find something?]
From: Lincoln
[Still investigating.]
[Give me some more time. This happened in the middle of the night. It takes work to investigate. It will take some time.]
To: Lincoln
[Hurry up, I’m in the police station now.]
Lincoln knew Julia’s situation, so he sent all the people who could be sent out to rush everything.
Another wave of silence emerged before the police officer dropped a question again. “Did you go out last night? Don’t you have an alibi?”
“I swear, I didn’t go out.”
“Are you with the one surnamed Brooks?” Lincoln asked.
“Well…” She squinted and no longer knew what to say next.
“Then let him come out to prove it!”
Julia didn’t want to trouble Jared. Besides, the crime happened at two o’clock in the morning. At that time, both she and Jared were asleep, and there was no way to provide her with solid evidence.
“Have you
finished talking? Think carefully, Miss. It’s just whether you make things easier, admit you did wrong, or wait for us to investigate the case deeper,” the police officer said seriously. Julia put down her cell phone and looked at the police officer. “Look, Sir. That car is not mine. It belongs to the Watson Family. And the thing is, they already kicked me out. You can verify that. So there’s no way that I’ll drive a car from the family in the middle of the night.”
The police verified everything they got from her, and in the end, they found out that her words
were true.
“But it doesn’t prove that you didn’t drive the car, and looking at the photos. It’s similar to you.”
“That’s because you haven’t met Yasmin before. After meeting her, you’ll realize that the one in the photo looks more like her,” she explained calmly.
“You mean, it was your sister Yasmin who ran away?”
“She’s not my sister and doesn’t deserve to be called my sister. But things are indeed, as I said. Speaking of which, Philip told me today that Yasmin hit someone while drinking and driving last night. That woman is a second–tier star, while I am just an ordinary citizen. Unlike me, who has nothing to lose, she has a lot. So Philip approached ine and asked me to go to jail instead of Yasmin.”
Hearing Julia’s words, everyone present was momentarily taken aback, thinking this matter was unbelievable.
Because Yasmin was not Philip’s biological daughter, but Julia was. So it was ridiculous to believe her claims.
“It’s still the same sentence if no one provides you with an alibi, then-” the police officer was interrupted by a low voice at the door before he could finish speaking.
“I can prove it.”
