Chapter 12: I’ll show you back
Sitting on the bed, Jared looked utterly surprised, and his pupils trembled! He, who had never been close to women and was not tempted by anything, couldn’t control the movement of his eyes at that time.
“You, I-” Julia turned around and entered the bathroom again.
With a loud bang, the bathroom door slammed shut. The room quieted; everything was in place except for the two, who couldn’t calm down after what happened.
Julia pressed her back against the cold door to cool down, her chest heaving and her cheeks tinged with blush.
On the other hand, outside was Jared staring at the bathroom door, maintaining his previous position and sitting motionless.
The two remained deadlocked, and in the end, Julia was the first to break the most awkward situation they had ever been in.
Julia raised her hand and knocked on the door. She faked a cough and asked, “Are you still outside?”
When he heard her question, Jared stood up and said, “I’m going out now.”
“You don’t need to go out.”
Upon hearing Julia utter those words, Jared instantly halted, and his heart moved. He lifted his eyes and fixed his gaze on the bathroom door.
The woman just told him to stay still. He wondered if she wanted to keep him there. He wondered what she was going to do. Lastly, he asked if what Shiloh had said was true. Was the woman just scheming from the beginning and had impure thoughts toward him?
If that was the case, he could stay up tonight and see if she would show her true colors.
Just as Jared thought so, Julia’s voice was heard again..
“You handed me the pajamas on the bed. I forgot to take them.”
Jared looked towards the bed and raised his long eyebrows. Did she keep him down to help pass the pajamas? He thought it was funny that he was thinking the worst while. she just meant to order him around.
Thinking of this, the anticipation on Jared’s face instantly vanished.
After two seconds of silence, Jared came to the bathroom with her pajamas.
“Here it is.”
As the words fell, Jared saw the bathroom door slowly pushing open from inside, and then he saw a fair but smooth–looking arm extending from the inside.
Suddenly, Jared heaved deeply, and he felt how the rhythm of his breathing became
presently disordered,
It wasn’t until her hand took away the clothes and the bathroom door closed again that Jared gradually regained calm.
After Julia put on her pajamas and came out, she found that the man was sitting on her bed and hadn’t left yet.
“Mr. Brooks,” she called his attention. “Isn’t it inappropriate to enter a woman’s room without knocking?” She raised her brow.
He passed over her without any trace of anything on his face and spoke calmly, “I knocked, but no one opened the door.”
“So you just pushed the door and invited yourself in?” Julia asked, still raising an eyebrow.
“The door is not closed.”
‘Not closed?‘ Julia looked towards the door. She remembered closing the door when she came in. Didn’t it close tightly?
“And I didn’t expect you to just come out of the bathroom looking like that,” said Jared. “You
“You-” Julia stopped and felt a headache at the thought of what had just happened. “Why are you acting like you suffered a loss?” He asked.
That question triggered someone in her, so she shouted aggressively, “What do you think? I haven’t been seen by any other man yet!” She gritted her teeth angrily. The moment he heard those, Jared’s pupils lit up silently, and then he asked in a probing tone, “Are you kidding me? You and your fiance were about to get married! You didn’t do-” Before Jared could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Julia. “Look, don’t make me a laughing stock after saying this, okay? But yes, I admit. I am not Vivien, who opens her legs whenever she feels like it for a man. I do not have her cunning tactics, and if I had even a tenth of her shamelessness, my ex–fiance and I would have had plenty of children already.”
‘So they didn’t…‘ He cut his thoughts and licked his lower lip.
Barely, Jared rubbed his outstretched fingers, and a few invisible curves appeared at the corner of his mouth, fleeting and not being captured by anyone,
“You know my embarrassing secrets now. Can you now go?” Julia angrily ordered him to leave.
If she were honest, she would want to rush over and kill Jared if it weren’t for the things she had to complete. She had lived for two lifetimes and had never had intimate contact with any man. So when he saw her naked earlier, she was like a volcano about to erupt in anger.
Julia got madder while thinking about it, and while she was like that, Jared took off his blazer and unbuttoned his shirt.
What was happening in front of her took her off guard. Her eyes instantly enlarged. “What are you doing?” She panicked.
Jared had calm eyes and a low–pitched voice.
“Aren’t you feeling at a loss? I’ll show you mine too.”
She swore to every available higher being there was: she was in an absolute daze because of how shocked she was by his boldness!
Julia was so surprised by Jared that she couldn’t speak. She just stared blankly as the man continued to unbutton his shirt.
