After saying this, Mason asked again, “Can you help me?”
Celeste gave a wry smile, “It’s not that I don’t want to help you, I’m just worried that people will recognize me and ruin your plan. Don’t you have many female colleagues in your company? You can ask them for help”
Mason replied, “He’s been to the company many times and has seen all my female colleagues.”
He paused and added, “If you’re worried about being recognized, I can introduce you to a makeup artist. His makeup skills are top–notch, even your friends won’t recognize you.”
So he has thought it all out before telling Celeste, huh?
She would have definitely agreed if Mason had asked her for help with other things. After all, he has helped her a lot, whether it was the issue with Caitlyn or some lawsuits with the Campbell family
But pretending to be his girlfriend… she felt somewhat unethical about it.
The unethical part referred to her, as she already had a boyfriend.
“I still think this isn’t quite right. How about I find someone online to help you?”
She originally wanted to ask Trisha Colton for help, but considering Trisha’s recent good relationship with Dr. Ledford, Trisha definitely wouldn’t want to
do such a thing. Besides, her acting becomes overly dramatic when she gets nervous, and she might accidentally blow her cover
Mason paused momentarily and said. “Didn’t you help Nicolas last time? Why can you pretend to be his girlfriend to help him but not me?”
Celeste was stunned and finally understood that Mason was referring to the singles party at the bar last time. That was a job. He hired me. Otherwise, why would I do such a trouble–seeking thing?”
“How much?” Mason asked in a low voice, “Can I hire you to help me? Name your price.”
Celeste could trick Nicolas Francis, but considering all the help Mason had given her in the past, she couldn’t do that to him.
Celeste hesitated momentarily and said, “Hold on a second. I’ll call my agent to see if I have any plans for tonight.”
Mason nodded.
Celeste stepped aside with her phone and immediately called Liam.
Liam was on a plane coming back from a business trip at the moment. His flight was delayed, and he hadn’t arrived yet, so his phone was still off.
After making two or three calls without an answer, Celeste decided to send him a text explaining the situation. Before she could finish, Mason walked
over
“How did it go? What did your agent say?”
Celeste put away her phone, “I can help you, but I might not be able to stay for long.”
Mason sighed in relief and said gently, “Just your appearance would be enough to make him give up the idea.”
After wrapping up her work, Celeste left with Mason.
First, he took her to a fashion design center, finding the makeup artist he had mentioned before, who gave Celeste a completely new look
Post–makeover, Celeste was practically unrecognizable, even to herself.
The woman in the mirror had elongated eyes compared to hers, and while her features weren’t as delicate, they were quite distinctive Her sharp jawline was transformed into an oval face, making her features more rounded and feminine. Notably, the mole at the corner of her lip added an extra dose of allure.
Celeste had never tried this kind of makeup before, so she was totally blown away by the makeup artist’s skill. It felt like she was given a brand–new persona. With this skill level, couldn’t she change her face every day?
Raising her head, Celeste was about to ask Mason what he thought of her new look. But as she did, she saw Mason staring blankly at her reflection in the mirror.
