Steven sighed. “Maybe she’s been looking after Celeste all along.”
Although he had many complaints about Liam, if he hadn’t married Celeste, If their lives hadn’t intersected, he might never have known his sister was still alive in this world.
Round and round, twenty–five years later, they met Celeste again. Maybe it was fate.
“You just talked to Celeste on the phone, how is she, is she feeling unwell? Is it serious?”
After learning Celeste was his daughter, Hiram’s attitude completely changed.
Steven said, “She said she has a cold, and got some medication. She’ll be fine after some rest”
“How can rest solve the problem? She needs nutrition too, you go order some nutritious meals for her, and buy some fruits, ask what she likes to eat, buy everything, no, I’ll come with you, you can’t even pick a fruit.”
Steven was speechless.
He knew it would be like this. When his mother was pregnant with Celeste, Hiram would go to the baby store almost every week to buy things. little dresses, little hairpins, little toys, he hoarded a room full of stuff before Celeste was even born.
He was very much looking forward to the birth of a little girl just like his wife, but then tragedy struck.
Now, he found his long–lost daughter How could Hiram possibly keep calm?
Steven casually said. If you go, I bet Celeste will be so scared she’ll pack up and move immediately.”
Clair didn’t return until noon.
As soon as Janis heard the sound, she went downstairs.
The moment she got downstairs, she saw Clair sitting on the couch looking distressed.
Nana was standing next to her pouring water
“Clair,” Janis called out to her and quietly asked, “What’s wrong?”
Clair pursed her lips, looked a little grim, and shook her head after a long while.
Janis frowned and whispered, “Did he touch you?”
Clair clenched her fists and finally said after a while, “Not long after I entered the room, I was drugged and woke up in another hotel.”
Janis’s face darkened, “Did Liam find out?”
Clair shook her head, “I don’t know, the surveillance was deleted, I couldn’t find anything. Mom, if it really was Liam’s people, would he suspect
me…”
Before Clair could finish, Hiram’s voice came from upstairs, “Nana, find grandpa’s blood pressure medicine.”
Nana’s indicator light flashed once and obediently responded, “Okay, grandpa.”
Then she ran off with her short legs to get Hiram’s medicine.
Janis made a silence gesture to Clair
Steven, under Hiram’s strong request, changed his clothes and came downstairs with Hiram, ready to visit Celeste
Steven was speechless, “Don’t you even know where your medicine is? I cannot believe you’re getting the little Nana to do such a small task for you?”
Hiram glanced at him, “What’s it to you?”
Ever since he saw Nana transform and overpower Steven, Hiram had been curious about this little robot, and after witnessing nana’s high intelligence, he simply can’t get enough of it.
Nana was also a real smooth talker. Every time she saw Hiram, she would call him “grandpa“, which made Hiram, who’d never had a grandkid, extremely happy
Hiram would often say things like, “Nana, pour grandpa a cup of tea,” “Nana, read grandpa the news,” “Nana, go for a walk with grandpa“.
Now, even when he needed his blood pressure medication, it was the little Nana who got it for him.
Steven said sarcastically. “Are you not afraid that your friends will laugh at you when they find out you having a robot call you grandpa?”
Hiram shot him a glance, “If you weren’t so useless, at your age without even having a girlfriend, would I need a robot to call me grandpa?”
Steven: “Do you know who created it?”
Hiram froze
Steven squinted his eyes. “That’s right, your ex–son–in–law.”
Hiram said, “Grudges should not extend to the children, Nana is still my good granddaughter.”
Steven said, “Well, you better say your goodbyes to your granddaughter then, ‘cause I’m going to pack it up and take it away soon.”
