The caller ID showed “Baby” She unconsciously clenched her hand
Liam answered the phone, and after hearing something from the other side, he frowned hung up, and looked at the driver. “Park near Center Tower”
Kaylee turned and asked, “Why are we stopping, brother? What are you doing?”
Celeste also looked at him, but unlike Kaylee’s concern, there was no emotion in her eyes.
Liam said indifferently. “I have some urgent business to deal with You two go ahead”
Celeste shifted her gaze
Urgent business? It must be about Sydney.
For him, anything involving Sydney was urgent.
Her wrist was suddenly grabbed and just as Celeste was about to break free, Liam put their wedding ring on her ring finger
Seeing the ring. Celeste got angry and couldn’t help but mock, “Such a valuable item, I better not wear it. In case you can’t find it, you might call the police and accuse me of theft”
This woman sure held grudges.
Liam couldn’t help but smile and forcefully put the ring over her knuckle, whispering. “Don’t worry, I won’t call the police. If it’s lost, II use something else as collateral”
Celeste became wary and asked, “Are you trying to scheme something against me?”
Liam glanced at her and said, “Celeste, next time you have a check-up, remember to get your brain checked too.”
Celeste was speechless
Kaylee, not understanding, couldn’t help but ask, “Brother, what are you two talking about? What theft?”
Liam withdrew his hand and said indifferently. “Nothing. You have the invitation, right? When you get there, take her in first, and don’t wait for me. I’ll be there once I’m done”
Kaylee reluctantly agreed
Soon, the car arrived at Center Tower, where Owen was waiting in his car
Liam wanted to say something to Celeste before getting out of the car, but she put on her headphones and refused to talk, which annoyed him.
He closed the car door and left with a stem face.
As soon as Liam got in the car, Owen noticed his mood wasn’t good.
He instinctively felt it had something to do with Celeste but didn’t dare to ask further quickly starting the car
Not long after, Liam couldn’t help but ask, “Are all women so petty?”
Owen listened carefully, “It depends on what it’s about”
Liam briefly explained what had happened while trying on dresses earlier, frowning. “It’s just a dress, and she has so many in her closet Why is she so fixated on this one?”
Owen was speechless, and said, “Mr Reed, how could the dress in that wardrobe be the same as this one? That dress onginally belonged to Celeste, and you forced it on Kaylee. How do you think Celeste feels about that? Have you ever considered that Celeste might really like that dress too? Today, you can ignore her wishes and give the dress to Kaylee, but what if tomorrow Kaylee needs à blood transfusion in the hospital? Would you disregard Celeste’s wishes and take her to the hospital to donate blood for Kaylee?”
Liam’s heart tightened This was almost the exact same thing Celeste had said. He felt a bit uncomfortable and said softly, ‘I wouldn’t
do that”
“Celeste thinks you would, Owen continued. “That dress, you reserved it for her last month, so why suddenly give it to Kaylee?” Owen
knew Liam well
Last year, for Celeste’s birthday, he ordered a cake from Flavor Factory, but it was taken by Kaylee to a party. If it wasn’t for Skyler stopping him, Liam would’ve nearly broken her leg
He wouldn’t just give something onginally meant for Celeste to Kaylee because she said she liked it.
But Liam just clenched his lips, unwilling to answer
Owen had to change the subject, “Mr. Reed, you asked me to investigate Celeste’s whereabouts on the day of the car accident. I have the
information now”
