Liam definitely tricked Steven. He must have known how to disarm the system, but it would have used a lot of energy to do so when it was triggered, so the duration was set to be short, only two hours.
Those two hours were a nightmare for Steven.

After the afternoon meeting, Liam was assigning tasks to Owen. Once he finished, Owen finally spoke up ‘Mr. Reed, it’s Valentine’s Day Don’t you want to spend it with your wife?”
Liam was taken aback, frowning, “Why didn’t you remind me earlier?”
He had totally forgotten about the holiday and hadn’t even prepared a gift.
“I never reminded you before. It was always your wife whe did,” Owen said.
Liam glanced at Owen, as if saying. “Why are you reminding me now at the last minute?”
“I’ve booked two movie tickets for you. It’s said to be a must–see movie for couples. You can take your wife to see it and boost your feelings,” Owen said.
Liam’s frown immediately vanished. He checked the time and asked, “What time is the movie?*
“Eight o’clock. It ends in two hours. There’s an art exhibition at the Danu River tonight. You can go there after the movie.”
Not only did Liam’s frown disappear, but his eyes even showed satisfaction.
“Where are the tickets?”
“I was a bit busy today and didn’t have time to pick them up. I sent the QR code to your phone. You and your wife can collect them at the venue,” Owen reminded “You can go home and change. You may want to dress more casually for the date, it may make you look younger.”
Liam paused, “Look younger?”
Owen said flatly, “Your wife likes the way you looked in your college photos.”
Liam pursed his lips, finally saying. “Don’t think I don’t know what you mean.”
“Actually, we employees prefer the way you look now,” Owen praised.
Liam glanced at him and stood up, “Let’s call it a day.”
“Sure”
As soon as Liam left, Owen sent a message in the group chat, “Let’s clock out, everyone. Enjoy your Valentine’s Day.”
He immediately received a barrage of messages saying “Good job, Owen!”
Once in his car, Liam texted Celeste, “Are you free tonight?”
Not long after, Celeste replied, “Watching a movie with Trisha tonight.”
“Watching it at the cinema?”
“At home,” Celeste replied.
“How about going to the cinema? The experience would be better.”
“It’s a holiday, there will be a lot of people. I couldn’t get tickets.”
“I have two tickets from work.”
Celeste perked up at this, “Then give me the tickets. I’ll take Trisha with me.”
Liam should’ve kept his mouth shut!
Celeste was already urging him, “Have you got the movie tickets? What movie is it?”
