When she found out that she had no relation to Shawn, all her previous expectations vanished.

She opened her mouth, then closed it. After a moment of silence, she said, “You still have Grandma.”
Liam knew Celeste was trying to comfort him.
He held her hand and said, “And you.”
How could he be so understanding one moment and so clueless the next?
Just a moment ago, she was angry at him for calling her fat, but the next second, he gently said “And you,” which softened her heart.
The ambulance arrived quickly, along with the police.
Jade Barlow was quickly taken to the hospital, while the police stayed to investigate.
Skyler insisted that Celeste started it. While Celeste stated that they broke into her house and attacked her first. She was just defending herself.
Both sides stuck to their stories, and the police couldn’t make a judgment.
Also, considering the complex relationship between the two parties, the police suggested mediation.
Celeste didn’t really want to pursue it. On the one hand, the vase was thrown by Trisha, and she was worried about getting her involved. On the other hand, her movie was about to start shooting, and she didn’t want to waste time on this. So when the police suggested mediation, Celeste didn’t object.
However, Skyler didn’t want to let it go. She insisted that Celeste started it, acting as if she wanted to put her in jail.
Just as Skyler was distorting facts, Liam suddenly asked Celeste, “Has the surveillance been on at home?”
Celeste was taken aback.
Was there surveillance at home?
She paused, then understood, and nodded, “It’s been on.”
“Then let’s check the surveillance footage,” Liam said indifferently, “That way we can see who’s lying.”
After saying this, he looked at Skyler, “If the surveillance footage is pulled, Jade Barlow’s problem is not as simple as being hospitalized.” Skyler’s face changed, and finally, she gritted her teeth and said, “You bastard!”
Then she hurried to the hospital.
The police completed the incident report and left.
Nicolas went to find Trisha in her room.
Liam opened the fridge door and took out a bottle of iced water, then pulled Celeste to the couch to ice her face.
His movements were clumsy, causing Celeste some pain.
She frowned and took the iced water from him, applying it to her face herself.
After a while, Liam quietly said, “I’m sorry.”
Celeste didn’t look at him, “If you’re apologizing for Skyler, there’s no need.”
“I’m apologizing for myself.” Liam pushed her hair back slightly, “Move back in.”
“No.” Celeste glanced at him, “You’re dreaming. We haven’t established our relationship yet.”
Liam sighed, “I’m just worried about you and your safety at home.”
Celeste shot him a look, “The property management at Grandview Heights is stellar. The only reason Skyler could get in was because you own a property here, right? Without your property, how could they possibly let her in?”
Liam gaped and fell speechless.
“I will arrange for a bodyguard to live with you.”
“Have you been watching too many crime dramas, thinking there’s that much violence in real life?”
And besides, if it came down to a fight, they might not even win.
Of course, she let her guard down around Jade Barlow today. She hadn’t had much contact with Liam’s uncle and didn’t really know him. Their relationship was maintained at annual holiday gatherings, so she hadn’t expected him to go for the jugular.
Still, Liam was not reassured, “I’ll arrange a butler for you.”
